Must try if you're in the area. Everything was great but the fried chicken was perfect. Breading was thin and flavorful. Chicken was very moist.

Started off with the gator bites and a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo. The serving size of the gator bites is a bit small for $15 but it is rather hard to get gator in this area so it makes sense. The flour batter instead of cornmeal was surprising, but also very good. They have the perfect level of blackening spice in them, fried to perfection and not too greasy. Also, the sauce served with them is like a sweet and sour sauce made a love child with Tabasco. Gator bites 9.5/10 The gumbo was pretty dern delicious. I wish it had some okra, but its hard to keep gumbo in a heat well with okra and it not get slimy. Chicken and sausage gumbo 8.7/10 For the main course we had jambalaya Jambalaya 6.6/10 Grits 5.5/10 too buttery, could use some more salt and pepper, and some heavy cream Red beans and rice 8.2/10 Grilled Andouille sausage 9.6/10 Quite possibly the best andouille sausage I've had north of lake Pontchartrain The music over the speakers is a nice low level and includes a set list of Barry White, Chuck Berry, More Green, muddy waters, Bill Withers, and Sam Cooke Update The all you can eat fried chicken on Mondays is very good. 8.3/10 Collard greens 6.5/10 Yukon gold mashed potatoes 7.0/10 Pecan pie. It was great! Not over cooked and dry as most people do it. It was crunch from the pecans and sweet to the point if juicy from the filling. The crust was really nice as well. 9.4/10 Shrimp and grits 5.0/10 The reason I rank it low is because they use cherry tomatoes and shallots in lieu of the traditional peppers and onions. The grits by themselves were good, but the topping threw me off.

OMGOSH! What a find! Everything was FABULOUS! Loved the interior... not over the top Mardi Gras. Very tasteful and cozy. Love the brick and iron work! The service was great. We had Dennis and he was very attentive and a lot of fun. The food was PHENOMENAL! I had the shrimp and grits. My husband had the all you can eat chicken. Then we split the pecan pie. I could eat a whole pan of the corn bread... BEST I'VE EVER HAD! Loved the music. Very appropo. :) I love that they don't have it too loud. I hate going out to eat and having to shout to my dinner companions. We met the owner, Troy. What a nice guy! Loved that he came over and introduced himself. I can't say enough great things about this place. We will definitely be back!

Food was excellent. This is our first time dining in, but we previously ordered takeout and we’re hooked! The portions are huge! You definitely get what you pay for! We had alligator bits, my picky 7 year old loved them! She also loved her child size chicken & waffles, it came with tater tots and orange slices. I don’t know what they use for their fried chicken breading, but it’s yummy! The chicken is moist & perfect every time, even when delivered. My husband had the seafood gumbo & ate himself into a food coma. They have upcoming shows and live jazz events. We will be back for one of those!

I've been here twice and each time I have had an amazing experience. My waiters and waitresses are probably some of the more friendly people you can meet in Milwaukee. They’re funny and move fast. On top of that the food is amazing. I like to stick to what i’m comfortable with so I can’t give much feedback on the menu but they have a decent variety of food options. I mean this wholeheartedly when I say this is one of the best restaurants in Wisconsin.

Wonderful experience. Service was superb. Food was delicious, tried a daily special- Cajun catfish- crunchy, crispy, cooked to perfection. The seafood gumbo was tasty- slightly too spicy for me, but the oysters on half shell more than made up for it. Atmosphere was pleasant, relaxing, nice vibe. It was a Friday evening, sparsely populated- which was disappointing. I visited the establishment many years ago and it was bustling; I hope for their continued success- it’s a great place!

I have lived in West Allis a little over a year and a half, today was the first time I was in this restaurant to eat. The food was absolutely delicious! The service was great! We had appetizers: alligator bites, beignets and a crab spread that was just so good. I ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and collared greens. I will definitely be going back!
