This is a very very interesting place. First you have to find it. Second if you don’t have the secret code to get in, you have to do whatever the lady tells you to do. I had to do my four favorite karate chops. Little did I know, I had an unknown audience. It was hilarious! The staff is very friendly, attentive and engaging. We had the cheese curds and the fish fry. It was good. However, this is the first fish fry I’ve been to that only gives you one piece of fish. It was filling tho’. This is a very decorative and colorful place. The only issue is the manager who is the magician is not nice, engaging or friendly. He walks around like he’s tight and full. He doesn’t make you feel welcome. He should learn a magic trick that would make people want to return. Hocus pocus . . . Mr. Manager please don’t lose focus of your customer service skills. I’m glad the staff is nothing like the manager. This is one leadership style no one should follow.

3 women went to lunch before an afternoon theater show. It was fun trying to get in since we didn't know the secret password. Luckily we did as we were told and the door opened to a cool restaurant that has super style. We were seated in a raised and private small table/room which was cool in itself. The cheese curds are some of the best we have had, and I had the chicken Caesar salad which was really crisp and tasty. Another had the Blackbird chicken sandwich which was also tasty. The third ordered The Columbian. She was not thrilled with the chicken seasoning and asked to replace it, which our wonderful server did for her. The total bill with drinks, food, tax, and tip for 3 was $90 but we are good tippers also. At the end of the meal, our Agent/server asked if we wanted to spin our room around to leave more secretively, and how could we say no?! So spin we did and were let out in the Pup across from the theater. Note: on the bill there is a $3 Entertainment fee. When I asked about it I was told it helps cover the costs of the agent at the front door as well as keeping all the moving parts of the restaurant in working order. A bit odd to me but not enough to argue it. Both things made the meal fun. From the atmosphere to the menu and service this was a very fun meal. We will return with our children and grandchildren and spend more time learning the stories and reading the walls, which was limited as we had theater to attend. Yes, it is a good place for a good meal.

I've been hearing about this place for years and finally got to try it myself. Love the idea of a the spy theme and the secret entrance. The C4 Cheese Curds were good. The Mission Impossible Burger wasn't spicy at all, more sweet than anything which was a little odd. Agent Twerk was funny. Agent Styles took good care of us and had the menu and the scripts pretty well prepared for someone on their third day. The atmosphere is cool with all the spy decor, but it is also pretty old. I don't want to say "dirty," but the graffiti on the walls made it feel a little bit like a frat house.

Wish I could give 7 stars on Atmosphere. The speakeasy vibe is really here and the staff plays the part. It is obvious they really want you to have a great time, not just get your drinks, leave a tip, and leave. If you are in Milwaukee and have an extra hour or two available, I wholeheartedly recommend this place. You won't regret it. If you are a fan of James Bond (or just spy films in general), then this place should be on your bucket list. I won't give too much more away here, just make time to do their scavenger hunt, try at least two of their unique cocktails, and try the food.

Have been coming here since 1976. Great to see Safe House is still going strong after all these years. Always a fun time. We were here last night to celebrate my son's 44th birthday. Food was excellent along with our waitress. She was very attentive, friendly and had a wonderful sense of humor. The magician was absolutely incredible as always. Keep up the good work. I wanna see Safe House reach 100 years.

We did enjoy the experience! It was a bit tricky to find but it's the place with the red door. The doorman will ask you for the password and will make you do some silly stuff if you don't. So it helps to go as a group if you're a little introvert 🤣 The food was just ok, but I'll go here for the experience.

We stopped for lunch and we had a wonderful time the food is great and you could spend an hour just looking around at all the hidden treasures throughout the restaurant. The service was great as well made sure to keep with the spy theme and we really enjoyed the password to get in. This place is perfect for families or a group outing.

When here, with my girl, for the first time. It was awesome. Had to get the super secret password to get in, then the wall opens up, and you go down a dark hallway to get to the restaurant and bar. Got a table at the terrace, and the waitress was very into character and constantly used spy puns. Had to spy themed scavenger hunt around the restaurant before food came, simple riddles, but me and my girl had a blast. The food was great, too. If you want to get in, make sure you go to the "front" door 😁.

Unique entertaining restaurant with a 007 spy vibe. Lots of surprises around every corner and plenty of spy artifacts. Overall an enjoyable and interesting dining atmosphere.
