Very authentic Chinese food! Every dish we tried is very delicious. Highly recommend!
The only downside is it will be busy at weekend noons so you have to wait for some time, also it's cash only. Other than that, the food is pretty good.
Shanghai Family Cuisine is a solid 4.5 stars—a Keeper!
We stopped in for a late lunch and ordered fan tuan (fried “straight donut” or “you tiao” wrapped in sticky rice), xian do jiang (salted soy milk), ji cai chao Bai ye (Shanghainese spinach sautéed with soft do fu skin), and House Special fried noodles.
According to my wife, who is Shanghainese, it’s all authentic and very tasty. We will definitely be back when we’re close by and hungry for very tasty Shanghainese (Chinese) food.
We’ve been coming here since they opened their door a few years ago. Literately a family-run business, husband in the kitchen as the chef and the wife runs the front. The place is very small so if you don’t come early on the weekends you will have to wait. If you have a party of more than 6, 7 people then this is not a good place for you unless you don’t mind to sit at two different tables or wait for them to put two tables together. It offers authentic Shanghainese cuisine. The service is quick and friendly. The price is fair.
8/13/2020. I’ve been here three times since the Mid-March SIP to get take-out when I visited my mom. I usually call ahead with my order but one can also places their order at the restaurant. The food is still as good as before with very reasonable price. I’ll continue to get food from here hoping they don’t go away. Photos show the current setup. Nobody walks in the restaurant.
This is one of our family regular Shanghai style restaurants whenever we are in the south bay. The food is authentic. Their hot foods come from a hot wok. I like their kidney with red oil appetizer because it is not overcooked and very tender. Serves family of 6.
This place is cash only, the restaurant is very small, and the parking lot has limited parking. Overall, really good, family owned, hole in the wall Shanghai-style Chinese food. Ordered xiao long baos, dry fried string beans with pork, spicy wontons, and Shanghai style noodles with minced pork.
My go-to place for Shanghai Cuisine.
Love their mini-wonton, pork-rib, chestnut chicken… Look forward to reopening!
