DEFINITELY NEED TO STOP HERE when heading in or out of Chicago! We wanted a fun atmosphere with good food after spending most of the day in a discouraging meeting about a diagnosis of a family member at UChicago Medical. Hog Wild did the trick! It is only 20-30 minutes from UChicago and right off the interstate 57. It’s a very fun place and plenty of selfie photo ops throughout the restaurant. We arrived at 3:00pm & there was no line, service was fast & the food was hot, fresh and delicious!! We highly recommend the pork chop, pulled pork & portobello mushrooms. Food portions are huge so splitting a meal or taking home leftovers makes the price quite affordable. Excellent place!!!! We will definitely be back on our way to and from Chicago during our many trips to UChicago for treatments in the coming months.

Great ribs! I should preface this by saying that I am much more of a dry rub, sauce on the side kind of barbecue guy, But my friend really played this place up and this was the 1st time I had been there in the 2 years that I've been coming to this part of Illinois. The inside is dark and has a dive bar feel, which I personally enjoy, though I know it's not for everyone. They really played-up the pork chops and the baby back ribs, so I had both. Pork chop was juicy and tasted as though it was smoked, though they might have thrown it on the grill to mark it up a bit for the meal. Ribs had a nice carmelization on the outside, sauce was sweet but not overly so, Really enjoyed how tender they were without being mushy. The oven browns were basically home fries, but crispier. Coleslaw was fine, a little too much dressing for my taste but not wilted or chewy. Cornbread was a nice touch. I barely finished the meal, the portion was huge and very satisfying. Wish I had heard of this place sooner. Next time I will try their approach to brisket, I'm told it's equally good. Good find in the middle of a neighborhood, it was only after that I learned that this place has been featured on all kinds of television shows and "best of" lists. Great experience overall. 👌

I have been to this restaurant three other times. It was just okay however this time I had the today's special which was the homemade pot roast dinner. I was delighted with the meal. The pot roast was not dry but tender. The corn and potatoes combination went well together. Also, I had the bake bean which was good but very sweet. Last, I had the ox tail soup which was just okay but my friend love it. I will go back one day.
