We were greeted immediately by the staff and the smell of BBQ. The menu was straight forward and good options. The decor is of pigs and fun. Good came out on Styrofoam plates and we're provided plastic utensils... disappointing because the meal was delicious. The meat was very tender and sides were good.
The only issues noticed was the restroom door (made from an old coke vending machine door). It was out of place and looked dirty. One person thought there was no restroom because the door was not obvious.
Overall, a good spot for authentic BBQ.
Is down to earth and homestyle cooking.. This is true meat and potatoes with all the extras. Delightful personalities working hard to serve you. The feeling of friends and family!!! Delicious sides and sauces... A definite check out again spot!!!!
Tom's BBQ is a Mesa Staples Landmark you have to stop at Tom's BBQ if you're in the area because they have the best rib tips the best fried pickles food you have to try the mac and cheese or fused with jalapenos is spectacular another good dish is the hot links you will not go wrong with hot links cornbread is spectacular as well and the barbecue beans you can go wrong with them now the cash register lady waitress she is the most nicest lady we have had the pleasure to meet just just ask her for what you need and she is very accommodating very lovely lady

Absolutely awesome and filled with flavor. The staff are so friendly and nice too. The lunch specials were huge. Brisket was so filled with flavor and very tender. First time here and loved it.
My in laws love eating from here. When we lived here before we ordered to go and it was amaze balls! This week we are visiting and just had to have it! We tried ordering on grub hub but the bbq nachos weren’t listed for some reason. We called and ordered a pick up. The lady who answered was nice. The food was just as amazing as we remember! Build one in grand junction co or on western slope somewhere!
I grew up in the area and always passed by but never got to try it so today I was finely able. Super nice staff, lily helped me get exactly that I wanted. We had the brisket and ribs meal it was super yummy, not to mention the smoke ring on the meat was amazing. They also have a challenge I might have to try for my self, but I would recommend 100%. They have been there for 33 years, love it!

In the area and figure let me stop by for some BBQ. It actually was the pink trucks outside that pulled me in. Didn't want to go full dinner since I had my nephews football practice to take him to. So I go for the burnt ends sandwich and a side of mashed potatoes.
The place smells like BBQ. That's a good thing! Just as if you're in someone's house or backyard grilling it up!
Service was friendly. Any questions that I asked was answered. Customer service wasn't an issue with me at all. Quite a few customers came in and we're helped just as good as I was. No complaints on my end. Didn't take long for my sandwich n side. The sandwich came with mushrooms, mozzarella and onions. This sandwich was so good. I love the combo and flavors here. The the meat was really tender. I just had it as it was served. Then only complaint and this again is just because I've been cutting down on my salt intake was that it was a bit salty. If I haven't been cutting down on my salt in wouldn't have an issue. The side of mashed potato was perfect. A little bit of skin left on the mashed potatoes just how I like it and down in my belly it landed.
There is some sauce options but in didn't try it so I leave that for when I get the ribs next time in here.
Can't complain at all for my 1st visit here at Tom's BBQ in Mesa. I definitely will be here again for the ribs!!! Not even gonna attempt their challenge! I know in won't finish it in 32 minutes! Good luck if you do?
OMG, real Chicago-style food! Best Combo (Italian beef & sausage) outside of Illinois (or at least out here). Curly fries are almost perfect! Decent no-nonsense service. Will definitely be back, must try their Chicago dog. If it's as good as everything was today, I'll be a regular regular!
Back again! Chicago Dog as good or better than anything in Illinois. Now I'm possesed by their homemade chips, too. Fortunately too far from home to eat there more often. They'd have to get a crane to get me outta there! 😁
I've passed by this place for years and finally tried it and I was pleasantly surprised! Extremely friendly staff and delicious food. We had the fish and the loaded potato. I'm sure I'll be back
