Nice mom-and-pop local Mexican food restaurant. Fresh food, delicious salsa! Best chicken tostada salad. Can get busy on a nice day, but service is pretty quick.
As much as I hang out in downtown Mesa, one would think that I would have been to Mangos before. Well, today was my first visit. Great menu selections. Friendly customer service. A small Cafe type atmosphere worthy of photos. My bad, I didn't take any of the cafe.
My selection for lunch was the Chimichanga plate. It was my first meal of the day and large enough to be my last for the day. It was very good. I can see why Mangos is a local favorite.
i'd give them 6 stars for service if I could. A great family restaurant that has delicious authentic Mexican food. highly recommend for any visitor to mesa. Order Fajitas they aren't on the menu but they will make for you.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. The owner seems to talk to his customers to get to know them. They have great repeat customer traffic. Exceptionally clean restaurant. One of Mesa's hidden gems.
Enjoyed some dinner here, it was great! I do wish the beans were warmer, rice had some crispy pieces, like I got the edge of the pan pieces.
Mangos is a colorful and tasty standout in the main street strip. The interior is decorated in bright colors and whimsical Mexican designs.
I've eaten here several times and the flavors are crave-worthy. I want to know how they make their refried beans. I've never had better anywhere. The chips (must be ordered) are the thick kind, which I love. The salsa is decent. On this outing, we had the carne asada quesadilla. Loved it!
Now, for areas of improvement...
Salsa comes only in a tiny bowl or an oddly small ketchup squeeze bottle. Pro-tip: take the top off or it's not coming out. Stinginess on salsa, especially when you pay extra for it, makes no sense.
Plates are a little slow coming out of the kitchen.
Prices are on the higher side of normal (beans and rice side for $7?).
This place is great. The staff is so kind and friendly. They make everything from scratch. They have a few things off menu. Their habanero spicy salsa is great, if you like heat. Very casual, both indoor and outdoor seating.
This is a good Mexican Restaurant. The tortillas were extremely fresh and they serve an outstanding shrimp taco. When I first entered the restaurant I didn’t understand the restaurant layout, it appeared to be a regular restaurant that you wait to be seated, but it was the type of restaurant that you ordered at the counter. I walked in unaware if I should seat myself, and inquired a staff member. The staff member could not assist me due to a language barrier. When I finally figured out the ordering process, I ordered at the counter. The restaurant is slightly pricey and I had to pay for the chips and salsa additionally. Overall the food was good, tasted very fresh and had good flavor.
Always fresh yummy food served ny the nicest people! I had my first torta there last night. OMG huge and delicioso! My husband had their shrimp chimmi. It was his first time and now he wants to go back for a torta!
Love this place. The number three combo of cheese enchiladas is incredible. But you can’t go wings with anything here. It’s my go to Mexican favorite when I come to visit Mesa.
