This was our first time trying Gus chicken. I loved that they employed mostly young teenagers/adults. This would give them something productive to do. My waiter was a young male. He was very friendly and willing to assist. I think he may have been autistic. If he wasn't, my apologies but that was actually what I liked most about my experience. They gave him a chance to work and he's doing an excellent job. The food was pretty good too.

From the silent traveler to all of you. This is the famous Gus's chicken in Memphis. Memphis is known for a lot of things good history good people the food but there is definitely one place you need to stop at and that is Gus's. I was told about this place and had to check it out myself The name of the restaurant speaks for itself. The chicken is beyond delicious and juicy. Could not get enough of it to compliment the chicken that is one of the best macaroni and cheese I've ever had in a restaurant. Almost better than mine when I make it at home. It almost seems like that macaroni and cheese was cooked on a grill. The season was just right and added enough cheese to make it juicy but not overwhelming. And the fried okra definitely spot on. I will tell you if you are a super healthy eater this place is not for you but if you want some good feel like you're back home with your mama this is the place to go. The service was nice and friendly seem like family you ain't seen in a long time almost like a family reunion. As I tell a lot of people don't take my word for it go down to Gus's for yourself check it out and let me know what you think. From the silent travel to all of you be well be safe be positive.

I was in town on a Business Trip. I am from Louisiana. This chicken was pretty good but not the best I’ve had. I ordered a 3 piece chicken plate with beans, coleslaw, with mac and cheese. I had the fried green tomatoes and a peach pie. My favorite item was the peach pie. The fried tomatoes were not my favorite and the Mac and cheese was ok. The service was good and food was prepared quickly. For someone that’s not from Louisiana, this is a good alternative. For me everything was just ok. I may be spoiled with Louisiana food. Lol 🤷🏾‍♀️

I’ve always wanted to try this place and finally got a chance to! Stopped in with my co workers for lunch. We were greeted and seated immediately as we walked in. Server was very friendly. I should have gotten her name. I got 1 wing, mac n cheese, sweet tea, greens and baked beans. It was delicious! So glad I was able to stop in and finally try it.

The best chicken. It is so fresh and has an amazing taste. The chicken strips are really good. The Mac and cheese is over the top as are the baked beans. Idk how they make chicken this good.

This is hands down the BEST chicken in the world as it claims. I travel for work so I know that many places try to claim their stake but there is simply no comparison. Gus’ is always prepared fresh, ultra crispy with. just the right secret spice profile and finishes off with a magical mild heat that seals the deal for your taste buds. Haven’t tried it yet? I ordered a 3pcs all white meal with fries and mac & Cheese. It comes with light 🍞 . If you want more, you will need to ask. This chicken has a very nice taste to it. I was very pleased with the taste. All of the food that I ordered was good. It was done as and it was crispy. They weren't too friendly, though. Signed: Chilled while eating my chicken.

World famous for a reason! A few locals I know say that if you can only pick one place to eat in Memphis (and you're not in the mood for BBQ), this is the spot to pick. The chicken was juicy and was not too crispy/hard; and the breading has a flavorful kick without being overpowering. I particularly like this location because you can stop in at Gibsons (across the street) for dessert.

This chicken is amazing! It comes out hot, fresh, juicy, and flavorful. I like the hint of spice in the batter. It could go toe-to-toe with Monell's in Nashville. The greens and mac-n-cheese are delicious. I can't wait to return here.
