Yokos Sushi Restaurant

My family and I went to check out Yoko's for the first time today. After living in Japan, I always find it hard not to be too critical of Japanese restaurants in the U.S. however, there are certain things that always stand out. One of the first things I noticed at this establishment was that the dining area looked more like a buffet style restaurant than a dine in restaurant. The music that was playing in the background was set to christian music (which is absolutely fine with me) however, there are others who might find that offensive. I would think that having Asian theme music or "elevator" music would be more appropriate for a Japanese establishment. The fish tank at the entrance looks like it could use an update or a really good cleaning. There was no one to greet us at the door when we walked in, so we were unsure if we should just sit ourselves but then a server attended to us and sat us at a table. The server took our order and brought our drinks. When the food came out, it had great presentation and smelled amazing. We have to admit the portions were very generous for the price! The food tasted great with more to spare for leftovers. We didn't order any sushi so not much to say about that. Overall, it was an okay experience.

Mixed reviews on this one, last visit i was given a dirty spoon to eat my soup, it had some sticky red sauce. But whateve's i came for sushi right (i just slurped straight outta the bowl) but then the Boston Roll...whoa!! That roll was so delicious, i stopped midway and ordered a second so i can just roll into the next one. They also served us in one of those cool boat platters..i felt like a kid again. So one dirty spoon didn't ruin our experience, but I'll always have the thought of wondering if my spoon is clean when i go back and I'll definitely go back.
