When I want a sandwich in a soup I don't go to the fast food sandwich shops, I go to New York Deli. The food is fresh,service is great the prices are moderate and the owner makes you feel like he's known you all his life. The staff is always friendly I never have to ask for my drink to be refilled. I highly recommend New York Deli to anyone that is looking for a great sandwich and they have other items as well to enjoy.

Literally order any sandwich on the menu...and be prepared to eat a freshly made, perfectly assembled, and ready to get your taste buds firing, sandwich.
I've eaten here many times...and finally decided to write a review. I've sampled several options from the menu...from their hot sandwiches...to their soup of the day.
The sandwich I ate on this day came with coleslaw smothered in house Russian dressing. For one, I am not a fan of coleslaw...I hate cabbage. However, there is something uniquely special of their house Russian dressing. If you order a sandwich, ask them for a bottle of Russian dressing so you can apply it at will to each bite.... delicious! I can literally eat it on its own....it's amazing.
The environment also sets it apart...I am no Dallas fan nor Beatles fan...but you don't have to be to appreciate the time and detail invested into the place. There is memorabilia everywhere of the Dallas Cowboys and of the Beatles....you can spend your entire time looking around at the memorabilia and find a new item each time.
I love this place...from the environment, to the variety of sandwiches offered, to the deliciousness of each individual item...if you have time and are driving by McAllen...stop here for a bite. You will enjoy it....
I used to live in NYC for almost 5 years and can't say I've had a sandwich this good since I last went to Carnage Deli there. The pastrami is moist and filled with flavor. The cheese cake is also excellent, as well as the service.
1st time here and I absolutely loved the atmosphere. Everything Beatles! The decor and the Music! I decided to get a Customer favorite "The Wall Street " and it didn't not disappoint. Then dessert, Banan Foster Cheesecake!!
Can't wait to go back!
First time here. Service was quick & friendly! Moses recommended the Sir Kingston but told me they changed the chicken for turkey and so I went for it. Great value as it’s certainly made with quality ingredients and is MASSIVE. The soup of the day was the chicken tortilla. I felt like having something warm after my swim so I added a cup. I definitely should have gotten the bowl. (So I got a bowl to go). The soup was so well seasoned! Bravo! The chicken in the soup was cut in big chunks and was juicy and tender. Looking forward to coming back here soon and trying many more of their signature dishes.
Their food is spectacular, every single item I’ve tried has been delicious and filling. Their lemonade is fresh squeezed it’s not that powder mix. Their fries are always crisp and fresh and their Russian dressing is a must try.
I've been to New York Deli many times. Always good food Great deli atmosphere.
My favorite is the Reuben. My wife got the Ribeye sandwich and loved it. Gets crowded at lunch.
Very attentive and friendly staff. The owner is there most of the time checking on tables. If you've never visited, just go and enjoy. If you have any doubts, fuggedaboudit!
One of my fave spots in South Texas. You can get real live deli sandwiches liked corned beef or Reubens if you're a carnivore, but I'm crazy about their grilled cheese. They also make a fabulous veggie sandwich. Fresh homemade lemonade, too. Super friendly staff. The owner is a great guy who likes to check on every table.

i love that they have different daily soups! they have a specific part of the menu with options for side or soup with a sandwich!
the tastiest sandwich i have ever tried! usually don’t really like tortilla soup, i like more traditional mexican caldos, but their chicken tortilla soup was so delicious!
the staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations and explaining the menu to us being newcomers, the interior is beautiful and very new york style! the staff was very nice when checking out and knew it was our first time and was glad we stopped by!
edit: FORGOT TO MENTION!! how could i? the russian dressing is to DIE FOR! delicious and like nothing i’ve ever had, perfect with any sandwich!
