First Watch Matthews

I have wanted to try First Watch since it opened. My family and I went today for the first time, we were incredibly disappointed. When we walked in, it was ear the the hostess was not happy to be there. She didn't even pretend to be happy. Once we were seated, we waited 10 minutes to be greeted by a waitress. She was sweet, but she had no interest in us. Took our drink and food order since we had plenty of time to find what we wanted before she visited our table.. we didn't see her again until she brought our bill. We had to ask another server for our condiments. Once we got our food, we noticed it was slightly chilled.. :( I also found a hair in my gravy biscuits. We didn't say anything because we didn't really have anyone to talk to, and because we were very hungry, we ate anyway. Plus we aren't easily grossed out.. ha. Of course I would much prefer a meal without hair. I have worked in the restaurant industry for a long time. I am leaving this review in hopes that the staff can come together and focus on solving these issues. The menu is way to great and pricey for this type of experience. Best of luck.

Painfully slow. Still somewhat disorganized. Work on that and the good food will do the rest. Being 32 minutes late with a curbside order that has a 25 minutes wait time is unacceptable. Lol and you left out the Trifecta. Well you put the waffle in there. So I guess you got part of it right. Thanks to the manager who helped take care of this.

Very disappointed. Food quality was average, about what you get at IHOP or Denny's. What left us with a negative impression was the service. Our waitress was not interested in serving, never once checked on us, and once the food arrived, hurried us out. One thing was clear, she didn't want to be there. For the prices charged, I would recommend going elsewhere.

I don’t usually review often because the food industry can be tough but this experience was awful. Started off by standing by the host table waiting to be seated or even greeted for 5 minutes. Then we were just plopped down in between two other tables during COVID. The whole other side of the place was empty. The waitress came over and got us some coffee. She then returned and took our order. It took 45 minutes to receive our food. During this time the waitress never stopped by to offer refills or anything. It got so bad to where we had to leave to get back to work. Luckily the food came out right as I was going to let them know we had to leave. The farmhouse was pretty good, the cheesy grits were terrible and so was the “million dollar bacon”. And to top it all off this place with terrible service and average food is charging high end luxury prices for a simple brunch. Will never be back and will tell people not to go.

The staff was just okay. Nothing over or under to report there but it took forever for my food to be ready even after it said it was ready in the app & there was nobody to let me know where the orders were being kept. I just so happened to walk back in and see an employee going to place a different order. The food was also nasty. The drinks were not that great either. Wasn't worth the money spent although I wanted it to be so badly. The best part about the dishes I tried was the fruit and the toast. That was it & that was all 🤷
