City Barbeque

I really enjoyed stoping by City Barbecue. Their customer service was really good. The girl behind the counter was friendly and really helpful in helping us 1st timerer make decisions and she steered us in the right direction. I ordered the city sampler with fried okra & collared green. The meats were delicious the chicken was moist and flavorful, the brisket had good flavor, not the best I ever had but still good, turkey was really good moist and good smoky flavor, pulled pork was on point. We got 3 sauces original, sweet, & swine wine. My favorite was the swine wine, some may find it to vinegary, however that's the way I like it. The other two were good comparable to sweet baby ray's and I real like ray's. The sides we're good too. The fried okra was fresh and could tell were hand breaded they were delicious. The collards were a bit salty for me but my wife loved them she ate them before I could get seconds. Also got to try their nanner pudding, because they ran out of chicken for my wife's salad and had to changed it to turkey so they through in a free dessert. And I will say it was so.... Good! I will be back the next time I visit my in-laws.

So so good! My friend and I wanted to know whose granny was back there cooking! So much flavor! Brisket was perfectly cooked, mac n cheese AMAZING! Sweet potato casserole was just like my grandma's pecans and all! As 1st time guest they gifted us with samples of baked beans, corn pudding and potato salad- all made us think our grandma was in the kitchen!

Ordered tonight for the first time. Everything was delicious.....except the Nashville hot chicken sandwich was not hot AT ALL. Luckily I had ordered the hot bbq sauce to go with it. That helped. The pork was nice and tender and that cornbread was awesome. Good mac and cheese and the corn pudding was delicious. The baked beans a little too sweet. Would order again for sure

Nope. Not ever ordering here again. Well, if ordering a grilled chicken salad requires no teeth to eat because even the chicken is THAT kind of ripe- by all means, order away. But just know that if it was like my experience, it’ll likely be only your grocer’s box of mixed greens, three rings of red onions and what I would question as more truth their chicken being likening to that of canned. Smoosh each bite with your tongue against the roof of your mouth- no teeth needed. So many other places would have done a better job with $9 for an ehhh kind of meal.

This was the best barbeque I have ever eaten! I have traveled all over the South. The service was impeccable! Social distancing was In place in the dine-in area though we were offered seating in the picnic area. Mask were worn by all staff but even with a mask on you could hear a smile in the voice of the cashier. Management came out and greeted us plus told us about the weekly specials after seeing our orders. This was my first time eating barbeque in the Queen City of Charlotte, NC but it will definitely not be the last! I will eat here again on my next visit.
