Best Breakfast in the Keys!
The is a small establishment with an excellent staff. We arrived for a late breakfast, seated immediately, coffee and water delivered promptly. The specials are on a board on the wall (along with lots of wooden spoons). We ordered from the menu with some additional items (blueberry pancake). Food was delivered in less than 15 minutes. And it was all great.
The eggs were cooked as requested, the pancakes were fluffy, and the refills came quickly. The portions were very generous. The prices were very reasonable.
We ordered some of their homemade breads to try later (they grill if you order as a side). The breads were all excellent ( we especially liked the blueberry). They also make box lunches.
It was a little whole in the wall that had a decent breakfast. The waitress was very sweet and the food was delivered hot and fast. We would go there again.
I normally don't post reviews, but for this place I had to. Very friendly service and excellent food, diner style, prepared right in front of you. I sat at the bar seating area for an early morning breakfast and felt right at home. If you like the "hole-in-the-walls" with good food, this is the place.

Breakfast all day. Perfect place for those that like breakfast at any time of the day. This small diner is open 7 days a week and offers your basic american diner fare along with smiles and friendly staff. If you have a chance to try it take the time you will have a pleasurable experience.
Would never have stopped here by the looks of the place if I hadn't read the reviews. Delicious food, quick service, and friendly staff!
This is just what I look for in a breakfast joint. Nice folks serving, quick, good quality food, nothing fancy. Looks like they've been at it a long time and got it nailed down early.

Born and raised here and this is my favorite breakfast spot! I love the spoon!!! I even eat lunch here too!!!
Don't judge a book by its cover!. I wouldn't have gone into this place if I hadn't read all of the reviews. It is clearly a local dive with an awesome breakfast. The service was friendly and fast. Give this place a chance, you won't be disappointed.
A fun tiny wooden spoon and greasy spoon. No frills but fast,
food and friendly service. The omelettes and potatoes are hot and the biscuits are big and fresh! The coffee is diner coffee, not strong, food friendly, and the grits weren't as smooth as usual, but it was a holiday and we were happy to have a good breakfast. It's a small spot but good parking and at the busy time you may encounter a wait.
Another diner nearby had the croissant sandwich with egg and cheese, it looked delicious and a lot of tables had iced tea. Everything is made fresh, prices are fair, and it's quick. Don't forget to try the blueberry or banana nut bread!
Even though it was moderately busy, service was quick and Coffee kept warm. Our order came out really quick. Decent portions and not too expensive. Lisa was our waitress and she is a wonderful ray of sunshine.
Really enjoyed the wooden spoon with my wife my mother and my aunt. The server that had been there for 35 years was outstanding. The woman behind the counter when we initially arrived asked us to wait outside and our server said don't worry she was setting up a table. It was cold that morning so we were reluctant to do as the counter server suggested. The portions were a little on the small side but tasty nevertheless. It was a nice experience.
At mile marker 51 in Marathon. A small, bustling joint with quick service, charismatic staff, and delicious homestyle food! Fun wooden spoon decor, natural light, with counter and table seating.
Come in and seat yourself, even join an existing table if needed. Staff will greet you quickly and things will move fast! Breakfast and lunch options, open early!
Homemade biscuits and crispy Belgium waffles. A favorite breakfast joint with humorous and friendly staff! Go enjoy!

What a cute diner. We enjoyed our meal and the service. A manager at Bonefish Bay Motel recommended it and we are glad he did. The biscuits especially are amazing. Never had such a large biscuit that was so perfectly cooked!
Came with a party of 5 on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Our food was good and we didn't have to deal with any sort of wait which was nice. We had a good experience and ordered the oatmeal, omelets and French toast but it was a little pricier than some other breakfast spots we visited. The space is quite small but unlike some of the other breakfast spots in the area they are not cash only which is a plus.
The Wooden Spoon is a regular breakfast stop for us in Marathon. I always get their biscuits and gravy. The biscuits are huge. The breakfast potatoes are great. Service is quick. This is the Marathon place for breakfast.
Best place ever in Marathon for breakfast. Unfortunately we didn’t try lunch, but I bet on top meal! We are from Italy, we loved this restaurant because you can find the real American breakfast and local people. Service is very good. Price perfect compared to the quantity!
Okay so delicious!! If there’s a wait, it’s so worth it! Everything tastes super home cooked and made to order. VERY responsible prices, friendly and quick staff. We’ll worth your time to stop here. I’ve been a couple times and am impressed each time. I will be back!
Consistent is the best word to start with. We’ve been annual visitors and as always Wooden Spoon is consistent in every aspect….service, food, and friendliness. We love Wooden Spoon.
