Sabatinos

Yesterday I had Sabatino’s Pizza in Maplewood for lunch. I order three specialty slices, Pepperoni & Sausage, General Tso Chicken, and their Chicken Alfredo slice. I am honestly not a huge fan of Alfredo-Pizzas, but that Alfredo slice was pretty darn good. Loved the Pepperoni & Sausage slice, it had awesome flavor! The biggest surprise of all was the General Tso Chicken slice. I did not for one second think GTC would be good on a pizza, but man was I wrong. I would highly recommend any of the three and any of the slices Sab’s has to offer. Anyone in Maplewood looking for some awesome pizza, def check out Sab’s!

Great pizza, easily the best pizza in the area, but 4 stars because you can’t be giving customers 1.5 hour lead times on the phone and then having them wait another 30 minutes when they get there on top of that. Invest in more ovens, more staff, or figure out more accurate times. If you’re coming on Friday nights expect longer wait times than they tell you.

I hate to have to leave this review. But the last several weeks have been disappointing. Between incredibly long wait times, incorrect eta’s, missing toppings, and undercooked pizza I’m sad that I may have to move on to another pizzeria. Tonight was really the last straw. Two whole regular pies where the dough was pale and undercooked (and this isn’t the first time) and a cauliflower crust pizza that is regularly burnt and hard. Used to be really high quality and consistent. Im not really sure what happened over the past few weeks but on Fridays especially there is a huge wait time for pickup. Almost a 2 hour wait from call. Perhaps this demand has stretched and stressed the staff. But the quality has gone downhill. Disappointed.

I have known Sabatino since he was born. His mom an dad are a big part of my life growing up.. I have seen this guy grow up with a dream of owning his own restaurant.. Now that dream is a reality.. His ideas are pure culinary Genius.. His pizza is outstanding.. I cannot say enough about this place. Go for the food, stay for the Company..
