Fish Bar

This is one of my favorite seafood restaurants in Manhattan Beach. The foods here fresh and fantastic. Every day, there is seafood special deal. Today is lobster special. For less than $28, you will get a whole lobster and two side dishes for lunch. The grilled Maine lobster is so fresh that you thought it was just fished out of the ocean. The sides are great too. You can get sweet potato fries and broccoli or spinach. For Tuesday, like other restaurants in Southern California, they offer the popular taco Tuesday special. For Wednesday, you can get their crab combo for $26. My wife went for the lobster special and I ordered the mussels and clams combo. The clams and mussels were very fresh too. I finished my dish in no time. Don’t forget to try their New England claim chowder. The soup is very smooth and creamy but no overly thick. The fried calamari was good too as appetizer. We had that to start the meal. The calamari was tender and tasty yet crispy. It was good way to start our meal. The only disappointment was that the restaurant offers only two choices of desserts. I wish they have more selections. I guess giving this is the pandemic time, the restaurant needs to focus on the food with limited resources. Since the restaurant is right next to the beach, it was very pleasant siting outside for outdoor dining even though the weather was hot. For parking, there is a big two story metered parking lot across the street with plenty of spots.

First time here for take out. Service was fine, food was ready in 10min from phone call. Fish was seasoned well but a bit cold. However, the clam chowder was wayyyyy toooo sweet. It feels like they accidentally added sugar instead of salt... i saw so many good reviews about it but disappointed with what I got. I might give this place another try, food is pretty good.

The food, ambiance and service is amazing! I've gone with the girls for dinner and with my husband for brunch. There’s a TV on every wall and everywhere you look with a diverse set of television programs or games on. Filled with spacious booths and long tables there is plenty of space for large gatherings.

2) Pork sugo pasta - I feel like any pasta other than bottarga is like the less impressive sibling in a family of overachievers. I really enjoyed this dish - the shape of the pasta was super cute, the pork itself was crumbly and soaked up the tomato sauce so well. I think it was a good balance to the bottarga pasta but... you just can't outshine your older sister when she's like a Harvard MD. If you know what I mean.

Consistently good, reasonable prices. Deliciously fresh, crispy and full of flavor. Meaty pieces of fish and shrimp with traditional hand cut chips that are done very well. I recommend to get the large fish (2-pieces ) plus the shrimp and chips with an extra tartar . Just the right amount of food for 2 people which also leaves you with some extra room for the fried Oreos - yum.
