Their mocha tastes exactly the same every time
It has a dark roast and high cocoa concentrated flavor to it
Its difference in flavor seperates it from other cafes in town
A lovely little coffee house on State Street. I had very friendly and fast service. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant. The drinks were quite tasty too!
Medium hot chocolate and a croissant with a view and Wi-Fi. Also not too busy mid-morning on a Friday. Exactly what I was looking for to get some work done. I would come again.
Excellent coffee. I tried their dark roast and their vegan brownie. The coffee was everything great about the drink in one cup. Bitter, fruity, smokey and a little acidic all at once. The clash of all these combined to create a product that was a rainbow of flavor, perfect for an adventure on a sunny day. And yet it was also dark enough for a midnight brooding session or a walk through the rain. The brownie was also fantastic. Coated with what tasted like the outside of a candy bar an Arabian king might eat, filled with that classic brownie gooeyness everyone loves and topped by sweet little explosions of flavor from the chocolate chips. Both dark and mysterious, and sweet and charming at once. I'll update my review once I try one of their espresso drinks. My current favorite coffee shop in the area.
Good atmosphere, and the hot chocolate was delicious. The barista, Grace, was really friendly and quick
Stopped by during an art fair for some mid-day caffeine catch-up. It was a bit further from the square than most cafes, but that also meant the lines weren't out the door.
There were more "fun flavor" options than some of the other cafes, and I enjoyed the iced raspberry mocha (can't always go for bitter). Pretty chill and friendly service, with a pretty chill and comfortable atmosphere.
Solid place to people watch. I would definitely visit again.
Espresso Royale is a great Street Cafe. It is small and cozy, but the large front windows offer great people watching across from Overture Center for the Arts. The coffee is strong and well made. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Nice for a quick stop for coffee, the shop is very small and hard to maneuver, making it better for small groups than large. It is warm and cozy, so it is a nice place to read a book or study while enjoying delicious coffee, baked goods and sandwiches.
My one critique would be the restrooms- they are large but not very well kept. When I was there we found no toilet paper at all in the ladies and the floor and sink were filthy. This was surprising, especially for a location where a bathroom key must be obtained before use.
Overall I would say this is a good shop, but prefer my coffee to go rather than to stay.
Good coffee and a fair price. Easy to get into. Usually not much of a line like the other place down the street. If there is a line it goes very quickly, so worth the wait. Clean restrooms and friendly staff. I would go here first before the other coffee spots if you are downtown.
