I recently accompanied my husband on his busines trip to Madison and happened to stumble across this gem of a place on my morning run. Loved the laidback vibe, spaciousness, the character of the building, and beautiful lake views. I loved it so much I returned three days in a row! I enjoyed the coffee, tea, and even imbibed on a glass of wine. The staff was friendly, especially Ian. I will definitely make this a go to stop on my next trip to Madison.
What am amazing place. The atmosphere is warm, inviting and totally chill. The view is spectacular, the staff are friendly and laid back. The owner is very community focused. This is a local business that is second to none!
Artwork must have changed.... Coffee is awesome. Breakfast san which was blah. View and atmosphere are great!
Love this place. Come as a workspace, conversation place, gathering or just to enjoy drinks along the Lakefront. Quiet place original drinks and just plain enjoyable. I was afraid to review my secret hideout because I love it so much!
Just when you think you know a town, you discover a new place like this that humbles you... acknowledging there is much more to be seen. The cafe was delightful, great view of lake through huge windows. Can't wait to return when to watch snowfall and sip my latte. Prices are similar not more expensive than any other coffee shop in town. Also serves sandwiches and salads - though I have not tried them yet. My trip was made memorable by the debut concert of a local singer (melissa simonson). Great location for events like that and adds another dimension to the cozy cafe experience.
I’m in Madison often for work, so I’m frequently looking for coffee shops. This place in particular checked the following boxes for me - good latte, scenic, cozy, friendly, and not overly busy. It’s street parking but I had no trouble finding a spot. The staff is friendly and I found no signs of uncleanliness around the coffee shop. This is definitely going to be a place I return to.
Have only been here a few times but always enjoy it. More seats than you can fill but it still manages to get busy before lunch. Great view of the lake and has outdoor seating as well.
Lakeside continues to be a great place to start your day. The staff is top of their game serving up great drinks and food. Masks are still required, which I appreciate. Always a friendly environment for all the patrons, young and mature.
one of my favorite places in madison! everyone working is always so sweet & the views from the back patio are lovely!
I normally don't write reviews, but I was so impressed by this place that I have to leave a good word. The shop is pretty spacious and very homey; I loved the basement with the sofas. The coffee was fantastic, and they have options for sandwiches and wine as well. Very friendly staff, and beautiful location next to the lake (and a small beach, which I'm sure would be lovely to visit in the summer). I'm definitely planning on coming back here!
I don’t know if I have encountered nicer, more friendly staff anywhere. We asked them to surprise us with a bagel of their choice, and they went above and beyond and certainly did not disappoint. The drinks were delicious as well and the presentation of it all was fantastic! We will be looking for reasons to visit Madison again just so we can come back to this coffee shop!
This cafe is absolutely beautiful. The service is fantastic and the food and coffee was outstanding, and you really can't beat the location. I drank a seasonal latte and had a breakfast sandwich on their back deck overlooking the lake, and listened to and watched the birds. It was such a pleasant experience.
This place is cozy and makes you feel like you're at camp not in the city. Though not in the best way. Tables felt a bit random and chairs felt like old cafeteria chairs at summer camp. So much potential is there, just needs some love put into the space inside.
I can't speak for food as I didn't have any.
