My husband and I chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner and I'm very happy we did. Each year we try to choose a fine dining restaurant with a variety of menu options and good reviews. The restaurant set the stage for a great evening from the time we pulled up with beautiful lighting outside. We were greeted upon entering by a very friendly server and shown to a room away from the main dining area. We were offered a choice of tables in a nice room of only three tables. We were immediately welcomed by another server and served water and menus. Our server for the evening arrived next and also welcomed us. He went over the specials and took our drink order. We were not rushed to order which I appreciate. While trying to decide on an appetizer we were served delicious French bread and our drinks followed shortly after. It was a nice surprise to see our server pour my husband's bottled beer into a big wine looking glass. The drinks were very affordable. My peach Bellini was amazing and after trying their version, which to my surprise was not frozen, I won't get a frozen one again. We chose the brie appetizer that came with apricot preserves and caramelized onions on top with honey drizzled crustini and it was great. I had a difficult time choosing my entree because the entire menu sounded amazing. My husband choose the pork loin that came with French beans and smoked gouda mashed potatoes. I chose the salmon that came with lobster resoto and French beans. I was very surprised at the portion sizes since most fine dining restaurants charge more and give you less. You deffantily get your money's worth at this restaurant. We chose the strawberry cake for dessert since I love strawberries and I had herd lots of good things about the cake. The server said the cake would be big enough to share and he was right. It was huge but totally delishes. I really appreciate the fact that the servers don't rush you and they are attentive and helpful but not overly intrusive. I think that most "fine dining" places over charge for thier portions but i think its the opposite here. Affordable prices and amazing food, atmosphere and service it hard to find. We will deffantily be coming back.

Outstanding meal, excellent service. Although this small restaurant is hidden away, it should be dismissed. The meal was prepared without undue delay and served with a smile. The presentation was very nice. I would not hesitate to recommend Back Burner to any one seeking fine dining with a distinctive French flavor.

I had a fabulous time at the Back Burner! The food was wonderful, the service impeccable. We had reservations and was seated immediately. The design of the seating allowed for intimate conversations in a non rushed environment. The plating and presentation of the food was very appealing visually and the appetizer and entrée superb. Added to my favorite places for a great meal.

We visited the Back Burner for dinner over the weekend, and it was truly lovely. The food was very good, and the ambiance was very nice, upscale but comfortable. I had one of the specials and cannot remember the name of it! It had very tender chicken breast, mushrooms, sausage topped with a nice cream sauce, and shaved Parmesan. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits, as usual for him, he likes to compare. It had a lot of other things in it, and he wasn’t nearly as impressed with his. He honestly didn’t care for it! I will say the our waiter tried to steer him away to something else and he wished he’d listened! I ordered a Caesar salad for us to share, and our server split it between two plates even though we didn’t ask. Excellent service! It was VERY good.. We finished with a delicious Crème Brûlée for dessert. I would have taken a picture of that, but we ate it too fast! Dinner was quite expensive, but not surprising for the quality of the food, service and experience. We would definitely go back for a special occasion! Highly recommend this place, especially if you’re looking for a romantic place for a date, and don’t mind dropping $100 before drinks.. Reservations recommended!

The first restaurant I saw off the interstate in Macon was Red Lobster, it didn’t look great from the outside and had 3.5 stars, so I googled restaurants close to me and Back Burner was 2 miles away. The service ( I think Dustin was the name of my waiter) was amazing, the ambience was 5 stars, and the food was incredible. I don’t spend any time in Macon, but I may drive back to eat here. It was that good. What an amazing stop! I had the Chilean Sea Bass and bread pudding and was very pleased.

Excellent food. Thanks Dustin for the prompt service. Scottish salmon and seafood trio were very tasty with nice rich sauces. The manager quickly provided information about a possible future event.

For our anniversary we were looking for a place that we’d not been to before that is cozy and out of the way. We decided on The Back Burner Restaurant in Macon. It was perfect. Small table for two, attentive service, and excellent food. We highly recommend it.

Wow were do I begin? About 2 weeks ago I planned a romantic dinner here for the evening of 11/27/21 to propose to my girlfriend and I must say that the staff here were so amazing in helping me organize the surprise for her and truly went above and beyond to make our evening very very special definitely a memory that we will never forget. We both want to give a special thanks to Mary, Nina, and Melanie you ladies are AWESOME! and we thank you so very much for your time, concern, and smiling faces that made this evening so special. We look forward to seeing you again soon as that The Back Burner is now our special time restaurant. Kudos to the chef as that the food is above delicious!! What an awesome evening! I hope that everyone there has a very joyous and safe holiday season filled with many blessings for you all!! Thank you again for everything see you soon!

Cozy and intimate date night spot for couples of all ages, with impeccable service. Our favorites were the lobster bisque with its delicate note of caramelized butter, the Capri salad, the unbelievably tender beef tenderloin, and the resplendent full lobster dinner, which sells out early for good reason. Delicious homemade cakes to top it all off. Soft, clean, rustic atmosphere. Attentive waitstaff. We can't wait to come back!
