This place sits up in the air for a great view of Lake Huron. Atmosphere is lake inspired. The service was top notch. Wide selection of seafood options. I ordered the Caribbean jerk pork chop. My wife ordered perch dinner. Kids got chicken tenders. Appetizer was crab cake. Everything was delicious 😋.

This place has great views! The food was good. They mixed up our sides. But, I say overall we had a pretty good experience here. The waitstaff was attentive. It did not take that long to get our beverages. And the meal came out in a reasonable amount of time. The food was good. The chop was moist. And the fish was tasty. It is kind of expensive here, but the food, service, and view made it worthwhile.
Very cool atmosphere. Fantastic tasting food. Very interesting building with some amazing views and an all-around really cool restaurant. I had the Tahiti salad and it was incredibly tasty. The prices are a bit high but it is well worth it for the view and the food.
This place was great beyond all means. Our waiter was fantastic. Got to know him a little. He is from Jamaica. We asked him why he's at Mackinaw & he said Mackinaw chose him. Very customer skilled oriented. The food was amazing. I tried Lobster for the first time and in Mac & Cheese, at that! I'm not sure if we will go back to Mackinaw (it wasn't for us. We felt it was overrated). But I do recommend The Hook. 👌 Go & enjoy food by the water and see all the boats & other things scurrying around the city while you watch from above. 😁
All 5 starts for this place. At first was overwhelmed with pricing thinking it would be like any other place meaning small servings but to the contrary. Food was amazing and huge portions. Tyler was our server and his first week working! What can I say all around amazing service and I was impressed over all. Highly recommended and made our date night that much more special! Thank you!
Food was delicious. We went for a weekend get away and found this place. Great atmosphere and beautiful view of the harbor. Wasn't very impressed with the service on the day we went . Our waitress came and took our order and brought us each a glass of soda then never returned to our table. Another waiter from the kitchen dropped off our food which was delicious by the way but never asked if we would like refills on our drinks (it was very hot that day our drinks were empty). They weren't that busy our waitress never returned to our table until she dropped off the bill.
Loved this place. Had Dean for a waiter. His personality was top notch. Food was delicious. We had walleye, lobster mac & chz, whitefish and the lobster roll. Everything was amazing.
Would probably be a 4 star many places because of the service and steak but for this area a 5...
Walleye both fried and battered were great. Large portions and tasty. White fish was good but the Steak, a large portion but not very good. Nice abviance. Service was a bit odd... waitress was anxious for us to leave even though the service was slow and we ordered appetizer and large meals and several drinks. No complaints about slow service, just a note... we were enjoying our friends at dinner and taking our time. Lots of interesting beer selections.
Would go back hopefully a different waiter or waitress.

We’ve been staying at a local AirBnB for the last week and a half - The Hook Lakeside Grill is easily the best restaurant we’ve visited in Mackinaw City. Open and airy dining spaces with contemporary decor and music, impeccable service, and legit seafood. I trained waiters for restaurants for years - I mean it when I say their service is on point: drinks within minutes, salads fresh and at the table in good time, entrees served hot and to the correct seat at the table, consistent follow up and table clearing, knowledgeable waitstaff - all functioning as a team. We were a party of five, dining out to treat my mother-in-law - we had salads, entrees, bar drinks, wine, and desserts - all perfect. I travel quite a bit, and the seafood was on par with any high quality seafood I’ve had anywhere. Salmon, walleye, fried shrimp, grilled shrimp - all cooked perfectly and full of flavor. After spending a day in the cramped and crowded restaurants over on the island, this spacious and contemporary atmosphere was exactly what we needed to unwind after a long day of walking. I appreciate the great dining experience we enjoyed - I both recommend this restaurant and look forward to dining with them again.
Worth the price, the experience and majestic view adds up! Loved the experience and the fresh fish directly from the lake! Obviously little expensive, great service, generous portion, and juicy food. They have elevator to go upstairs, and the whole restaurant is decorated in the ship theme. The location is perfect, near to all the attraction of the city, and plenty of parking.
