Rizzo's Roast Beef And Pizza

We tried Rizzo's for the first time tonight. While there are a couple of solid places closer to us , I have been driving by Rizzo's everyday on my way to dropping my son at Lowell High . Slow start... I was a little skeptical about how things would turn out because of how the initial phone conversation with the person who took the order. This is such an very important way a business is first perceived . Many businesses try to short change this position with minimal training because it is an entry position . This is a BIG mistake because it is an Entry - to their business!! Frankly , I almost said to forgot the order because I didn't think she was listening. She was polite but it was obvious this was a new skill for her handling phone orders . She , in fact , got the order correct. Additionally , when I called back to expressed how pleased we were with the meal , as a way to encourage this new place , she seems puzzled . Hopefully, the phone/counter skills, so important in any business , will become more polished with a little more training. Not another pizza place ... I arrived a little early for the pick up time I was quoted . I was the only customer on a wet , rainy night. It afforded me a chance to check out the "in-dining " option for the future. The place is brand new and everything looked clean and shiny. I was greeted promptly by one of the counter employees . The Grill cook made a point to say" hi " and "thank you" as I left. I don't know if he has an ownership stake but he acted like it. It always impresses me when a pizza place, sub shop or any small place that competes with corporate business treat their patrons like a honored guest just like a fine dining place would. Not another pizza place ... Another nice thing I noticed was the pizza box . Most boxes have sayings like "Eat it All" or picture of "Hot" pizza cartoon on it. Rizzo's had sayings like " work hard", "Believe", "Dream Big", "Stand up for others ", "Give it 100%" and other positive messages. Call me a softy but it struck me as a sign that this small business has a vision to be successful and be a thoughtful community partner. Back to the food.... We had a take out order of the Rizzo Supreme , a Greek salad and the crispy fries .The pizza was very tasty and filling. The Greek salad was plentiful . A nice touch was the dressing was wrapped in aluminum foil to keep it cold for the ride. The fries stayed crisp for the short ride home. I have been tracking my calories so I needed to enter my meal under some type of pizza type listed in the MyFitnessPal app. . I asked my wife how she would describe the pizza and she said "delicious !" I laughed but I totally agreed. Long story short ... We will definitely try Rizzo's again and would encourage others to do the same. This could definitely be a long time staple in our take out rotation!
