A pizza empire awaits. You'd better get to Danny Mac's before he expands and hits the big time. Crack sticks were just that, addictive. The pizza was on point and the cheap prices were strong. Many like to carryout but I prefer to eat in so that I can talk to Danny. Don't let his unassuming demeanor fool you because he has big plans.

I had the special with pineapple, bacon, and ham. Why are pizzas round? Who cares?! Danny's are square to better fill the box and deliver more value.

Go enjoy a slice of heaven.

Interesting that it is inside the Amvets club but the food was outstanding! We had a supreme and pepperoni pizza, butter/garlic bread sticks and garlic Parmesan boneless wings - all very good! The owner was super friendly too.

Great pizza & Atmosphere -- feels like living in a small town!. I've been to Danny Mac's 3 times since discovering it 1 1/2 months ago. It's great. In addition to great food, the Amvets is awesome. My husband and I are huge pizza foodies, and keep a journal of all pizza in louisville, based upon 5 specific criteria, judging the first time at each pizza place based on their cheese pizza. (then after the first visit, we can try other toppings). Their cheese 12" pizza is only 8 bucks, which is an incredible value. But, their crust is light and a little undercooked (which i like), and they have a good sauce and a very generous heap of cheese. i've since had other toppings (all wonderful) and the 'cracksticks' several times. they're really good. Danny himself is a joy to chat with, and has a good sense of humor. Each time I've gone I sat and had a beer while I waited, chatting with the bartender and other patrons of the Amvets. I really feel welcome and like part of the family when I go. This just doesn't exist very much any more! Can't wait to go back -- their well whiskey is Old Forester, and their prices (at the bar as well as pizza) are cheap!!
ALSO -- THERE IS PLENTY OF SEATING. I think one of the reviews is old. There are about 7-10 tables there, and tons of chairs. A lot of people of all backgrounds eat there, you will not feel uncomfortable. REally the group there is so welcoming.

A little hard to find, but definitely worth it! Great pizza, breadsticks, and wings...and the people were amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone and will be going back!

Yummy. I like their pizza a lot. They only have one size which was confusing at first but okay now that i know the size. The best thing I've had there is the meatball sub. It is so delicious. I've never had a meatball sub that good. A close second is the philly sandwich. These are two things that are a good indulgence from time to time.

Just tried Danny Mac's for the first time. I enjoyed the pizza. Overall I'd rate the pizza "very good". I won't call it "the best", but I will eat it again willingly. I ate only hand-tossed crust so this review does not speak to his thin crust. The hand-tossed crust is very soft and doughy, normal thickness, a little sweet. Nice and moist. I'd draw an analogy to Papa John's crust (but Danny's is better). Toppings were great. I really like thin shaved meats and Danny's sausage and ham were like that. Bacon was excellent. Sauce was good. I'll go back again. One word of caution: there are only two tables (eight chairs) inside. The place is set up more for takeout/delivery than dining and they have no beverage options other than soda. I ate in the place last night, but I won't go there again when I want a dine-in experience. Stick to take-out.

Slipped inside an Am Vets post, the ambiance here falls somewhere between neighborhood bar and bingo hall. There are TVs, a jukebox, and a pool table. As I awaited my first pizza from this joint, I watched in amazement as a steady stream of folks shuffled in and out carrying pizza boxes out the door. I realized right away that (1) I should have called in my order as these folks had; and (2) the pizza pies seem to be very popular. Well--I know why they are popular--they're excellent! I don't bake well at all, so I can't begin to describe the recipe, but I know the flavor sets them apart from the other pizza locals and chains. If you're seeking pizza and you haven't tried Danny Mac's, then it should be a "must try" for sure. FYI: Danny Macs sells food only. If dining in, drinks are available separately at the bar only which I believe accepts cash only.

Fortunately for pizza fans, Danny opened his 2nd location at the Mellwood recently. This pizza is as good as any you'll ever find, if not better. A friendly inexpensive neighborhood pizza place of the first order. Check it out.

Passing through to Ohio. We stoped by based on reviews.the only thing we read that someone said was wrong was it was carry-out/ location, We want good pizza so we gave it a try. I have to say it was the best decision ...Pizza was great! ! We met Dan, he and his worker both were Very nice. Thanks. . and thanks for reviews.

Danny Mac's Pizza also seems home to a veteran's bar. It actually feels more like veteran's club put a pizza kitchen in the bar. That's not at all a bad thing as my father is a vet and I'm very familiar with the culture. Pizza is amazing. Just give it a shot!

One of my favorite pizzas in Louisville. Almost any regular pizza topping you want and Danny isn't stingy. Price is good too.

I had Danny Mac's for the first time several weeks ago, and I must say that I really enjoyed it. The cheese sticks and marinara were great, and the pizza was delicious. I will definitely go back.

Truly the best pizza in Louisville! Cheap and fast, and the service is friendly. The location is somewhat eclectic inside the AMVET hall, but that makes it half the fun!

Food is great! And apparently according to another reviewer, not only is the food hot, but so is the owner! :) Seriously, if you are in the area, you'll enjoy a stop at Danny Mac's!
