My favorite place in Louisville for a cocktail and cheap bar food. You can't beat it. The fried appetizer basket should come with an angioplasty, but it's so worth it.

Awesome wings!!! I like medium. Also a great place to watch the Oakland Raiders play! Beer is cold, drinks are strong and it has a great local bar atmosphere. Not fancy, just great.

Definitely a place of generous pours...which, I appreciate!!! Very good selection of "bar food." I'd prefer the deck to go back to being all open. But...that's just personal preference. Great spot

The strongest drinks you'll ever try. Be prepared though because if you're wanting something fancy that's not their style. It's strong drinks only. I heard their bar food is good so when I go back that's the first on my list to try!

Some of the strongest drinks you will encounter in Louisville. If you're looking for a whole in the wall pool hall, this is your destination. Down to earth patrons and a relaxed vibe is a nice change of pace after a crazy work week.

Awesome wings!. OHHHHH MYYYY GOSHHHHHH! It's like heaven in your mouth! This place is hands down the only place I will go to get wings! Garlic parmesan or buffalo garlic is absolutely the yummiest!!!

Go There. This may very well be the best bar in Louisville. The drinks are strong and the food is outstanding. Nice place to grab a drink and a bite with friends.

Loved this cute dive bar!!! Had fun playing pool! Drinks were awesome...and so were the french fries! Great atmosphere! Definitely will return! Highly recommend!

Went to the back door after not visiting for a while and it has changed. The crowd is different, the music is different, and the vibe is different. The food is still good and it's still a good spot to go grab a drink. I just missed seeing the "usuals".

Staff is always really nice, although they get really busy at night (of course bc they're a bar but still) they are able to keep up and if you're fairly a regular, they remember you making the experience a little more personal and comforting. But always need to be cautious when attending bars in general. The Back Door has 6 pool tables so plenty of room for some fun :)

Since the passing of the owner John, it's been very hard to go back into the The Back Door. But eventually I did and the new staff is amazing. The wings are still the best in Louisville that's for sure. I still love the Backdoor and always will.

Could have used a 3rd bartender due to how busy it was during our visit. My hot wings were on par. 2nd time I've been here, satisfied both times. I rarely cross the river but will be here again to come to this gem of a hole in the wall.

The back door has been around for I don’t know how long. We used to go there, for the great drinks - they used to give us double shots of everything; especially the Long Island Ice Tea. The food is still solid, but not as good as I remember it. The pool table still functions well, but not the same as the memory of old.

You have to be 21 to enter but you will find the best boneless wings you’ve ever had. The special today was the pork and pineapple carnitas and they were also delicious! A must try.
