This is really unquie experience. I didn't expect that it is quite big place. Each room have neat theme. The menu looks so good and I ordered pesto Primavera because I love goat cheese. Everything was delicious and I do enjoyed the old fashioned cocktail. I would love to come back for more.
The decor is gorgeous, the atmosphere is energetic but not loud, the service is friendly and efficient, and the food is consistently delicious. The wine list is excellent, and the manager is from Italy and provides helpful suggestions and input on all things vino 🍷
Great experience. Top notch service and food. We had a party of 7 and large variety of food, appetizers, sides, desserts, and drinks. We have no complaints about any of that. We did however ask for balcony seating but were told upon arrival that aborher group had requested that before us and they do not have ample space to seat large groups on the balcony so we settled for the first floor. Expect to spend money. We will be back.
Overall the experience was good, this restaurant is more for atmosphere and aesthetic than anything else. My husband surprised me with a dinner reservation dinner for my birthday, we got the lasagna and chicken francaise; both were good dishes. While the meal was fine, I would not recommend going here if you are celebrating anything as they do nothing to celebrate with you.
My husband took me and my mom to dinner this past Saturday. My son, Cody, passed away in an auto accident in Dec. 2019. He worked there at the time and I hadn’t been back there since.
The food was phenomenal and our server, Madi, was the sweetest! She was so polite and proper, attentive to every little detail. When we told her our occasion to dine there, she mentioned it to other staff to see if anyone there had worked there 4 years ago. Matt came to our table to let us know he knew Cody and how fond everyone was of him; and that he had actually trained him. 🥰 Thank you for the wonderful food, welcoming hospitality, and beautiful atmosphere! Will definitely be back!
Fabulous place to have a dinner with your love or friends. The service is wonderful, they did a special dinner for us. The food is fine. I think that the best thing that have this place is the atmosphere.
This is definitely a place that deserves the hype - and the price. The food, service, and vibe here are all amazing. I have described it like Italian Disneyland to my friends, which still feels accurate.
I really can't gush enough about the food. This place has the best Italian food I've ever had. I've gone with enough people to try a bit of most menu items, and all of them I would happily order again for myself. The duck meatballs are probably my favorite, and the flavors are so rich that eating two duck meatballs feels like a struggle. I can't suggest any entree because I've loved them all and the portions are often enough for two meals. All of the desserts are worth saving room for. The cocktails are all superb.
You get a small glass of wine to toast with before your meal, plus as much bread and olive oil as you feel comfortable asking for refills for; the toasting wine, bread, and olive oil are included for free. The service is great without feeling pretentious. Every time I've been here, a manager has come, unasked for, to check that everything is perfect. Everyone working here seems to care a lot about their job.
My only VERY minor complaints are that the bike tables (while cute!) around the fountain are not the most comfortable and the flickering lights can be a bit much for those sitting on the second floor. In general though, I wish I could rate Grassa Gramma with more than 5 stars.
(And if it helps, Phillip was our main server this visit and did a great!)
The absolute best service. From the moment you enter you are greeted with professional smiles and inviting welcomes. The wait staff were extremely knowledgeable of the menu and made the whole experience feel personalized. Excellent appetizers and even more amazing entrees. Desert finished the night with a sweet and unforgettable treat. The cocktails and wine were a great addition. Lastly, the interior will blow your mind. It doesn’t take long before you forget that you are in Louisville,Ky.
We had a great experience here with a group of 6 for a small birthday celebration. The atmosphere is charming. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The offered a chianti toast at the beginning of the meal and lots of delicious focaccia. Everyone enjoyed their food. We ordered pasta primavera, lasagna, pizza and Bolognese. And for dessert and crescent bread pudding and canolis.
THE best Italian Restaurant in Louisville, hands. Professional servers, upscale dining worth every penny. Savory dishes, attention to detail, and incredibly welcoming. A must go. Thank you, Grassa Gramms for making our 10th Wedding Anniversary even more special.
