Ok, I straight up loved this place. You can really tell they take pride in their food prep, the cleanliness and the overall welcoming feeling you get here. It is warm and charming with really yummy food!! I had the blue plate special which was a Kentucky ham and swiss. I don't personally like sweet-cured meats, but had a nice conversation with the gentleman at the register and learned it's not too sweet, and he was right! It was so good!! And the veggie soup was really flavor-packed. It was a short walk here from the Louisville Slugger Museum and would definitely recommend!
Just arrived from New York for my first time in Louisville… saw the reviews and needed to come! The man taking the orders spent so much time with each person- at first I was caught off guard and was looking around, waiting for people to start complaining - but each person happily waited for their personalized attention for their order- Which I was so grateful to experience. A warm smile- being from NY- I’m rushed- people are rushing me- people are not looking to provide that kind of experience, but this made my day!
Food came out in minutes- delicious and ate every single thing! Highly recommend… !
This place was the most incredible experience. The staff were superb and were so patient and caring. David really took the time to talk to us tourists and make us feel welcome. The vibes in the place are immaculate. It was so calming, peaceful, rejuvenating, the list goes on.
I would highly highly highly recommend this place and taking the time to chat with David.
Prices are great and food was delicious!
Never enjoyed a place more than this!
You can travel many many miles and not find a more delightful down to earth cafe. Just as clean as a whistle, friendly and as tasty as can be. Thank goodness for google maps as it would be easy to miss.
Stopped here for a quick bite before our bourbon tour. Atmosphere was awesome loved the little/big space of this place. People were awesome and nice our food came out super quick! Our sandwich was delicious and the chili was tasty they had lots to choose from! We enjoyed visiting!
We stopped in for lunch while visiting Louisville. The food was great! The people there are fantastic, They took time to visit with us and all of their customers ❤️ The atmosphere was also beautiful. You can tell they have put a lot of love I to their restaurant, absolutely a wonderful place and we are so happy we stopped in there!
We got there shortly after they opened late morning, and by the time we were seated the line was already filling up and spilling out the door. The historic building The Main St Eatery occupies, contains all the charm Old Louisville has to offer. The hosts David and Floyd were very personable, and the Turkey sandwich and bacon potato soup was everything one could hope for a quick efficient bite before getting back to work. This will definitely be added to my list of places to frequent when lunching downtown.
David & Floyd we’re so welcoming! The atmosphere is open and freeing. As for the food, I am a fan of the sandwich & soup combo. The garden soup was so overwhelmingly flavorful with each bite and the sandwich fresh and crisp! I would recommend for lunch and dinner!
We came in 20 mins before closing and they were SO nice! The guy at the counter recommended some delicious options for a vegetarian and took the time to chat with me. And the best part, the food was delicious! I got a black bean burger and the vegan veggie soup.
To be fair, we arrived at noon time. We waited about 12 minutes to place our order as there is only 1 person that takes order. He was very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has an up & a downstairs. GPS guides you to the back door! The entry door is right on the corner.
