Food was great for bar food standards.Service was slower than we would like and the waitress forgot to refill our water and did not check on us regularly. Outside seating was nice but they do not allow you to rearrange tables and we had a large party so had to wait for a table to open up. Definitely recommend the truffle fries, burgers and wings! The wings were the favorite of the table. The pickle spears were a 6/10. I heard great things about the mushroom fries but they were out of them when we went (they must be good!). Good neighborhood spot to check out! Follow us for more restaurant reviews and food photography!

Always great. Casual indoor and outdoor seating, nice draft beer list, and the food never disappoints. Get the portobello fries, you're welcome.

This place really surprised me as it doesn’t look like much from the outside. The food was outstanding as was the service. The pretzel sticks and French dip were both amazing. There were also no shortage of people in there on a Sunday night which is always a good sign in my opinion. It’s definitely a drinking establishment but the food is equally good.

After driving by the Old Louisville Tavern many times, I finally decided to give them a try and I was pleasantly surprised: they offered a tasty and generous portion of beer battered and fried cod. It was served with lots of hot, fresh cut fries and a serving of coleslaw which was in a tiny condiment cup, equivalent to the amount of ketchup you might expect to get if you asked for it on the side to dip your fries. The service was great and I'm definitely going to go back!

Came here on a fall Friday afternoon. Great atmosphere, nice small pub with very friendly wait staff and bartenders. We will definitely come back. It is located in Old Louisville and you can tell several of the patrons live in the nearby area and these people come here frequently. Food came out hot and the French Dip that I had was THE BEST one I have ever had anywhere. The meat was juicy and plenty of it- big ol’ sandwich. They have an upstairs dining area and an outside patio. Dining here at night would be cool—-will have to do that sometime. Everyone in our party was very satisfied with food and experience.

Atmosphere and food are really good! We’ve been here a couple times with friends and it’s always been a great experience. Would highly recommend the steak frites (that’s my favorite dish thus far). The mimosa I ordered last time was also really good! They weren’t too busy during the Sunday lunch hours, so the service was also really good! Drinks were refilled and our order was placed and brought out after a short wait.

Fantastic experience at Old Louisville Tavern! My wife and I stopped here for lunch on our way home to Kansas City (long drive!). The service was nice, the atmosphere was just right and the food was delicious! I ordered the Ville’y Cheesesteak which is pictured. Tender steak with peppers, onions and mushrooms and then smothered with two cheeses! The bun was soft and the fries were delicious too! Best food I had on our vacation! My wife ordered the Patty Melt which was very good, and she got onion rings ($3 up charge) instead of fries. We both left satisfied and stuffed. We’re talking about taking a short trip to Louisville sometime, and this place will be in our plans when we do!

This place was excellent! My wife and I found this place in an ad while searching for something when coming through Louisville from Campbellsville for some appointments and we are tired of the same old chain foods and are trying all the local offerings and this will definitely be a place we come back too. We came in the middle of the afternoon on a Thursday so they weren’t real busy but they had a good flow of people. We got right in and seated and got our food quick. The food was fresh, prepared well and tasted great. Our waitress Brandi was excellent and extremely friendly. I couldn’t help but notice because we ate indoors out of the heat the seating is a open floor plan because it is after all a bar setting that Brandi was constantly busy. We were there little over an hour and I only seen her stop once to take a sip of something to drink. She was constantly cleaning, greeting folks when they came in, attentive to customers, checking on my wife and I, making sure everyone liked their food, filling drinks, making alcoholic drinks. The girl really puts in the work and I hope if the manager and/or owner reads this they realize the kind of employee they got there because so many don’t have that sort of work ethic these days. That young lady is certainly worth keeping around by what my wife and I seen that day and we both have managementi experience. If I had one critique about anything it was my sandwich and it wasn’t even enough to dock a star. I love Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and I’m picky about them. The peppers and onions were cut up so tiny and stuffed on the bottom and were soggy on the bun which made them nearly impossible to taste. Flip that and put them on top, make them bigger then add the cheese. It tasted mostly of meat and cheese and hard to taste anything else. That’s my only suggestion otherwise the food was great, the place was inviting and Brandi was excellent. We will be back. (Posted June 2021)
