Visited during lunch time. Had the fried chicken - it came with beans, potato salad, and hush puppies. Food was excellent as was the service. Glad I chose the Dish for lunch today.
Oh man. The food... well, I haven’t tried a lot but what I have tried was great. The hot brown was sooo yum. And the hot brown breakfast dish was to die for. My husband had the chicken and waffles which was also amazing. Cocktails were spot on. We had Bloody Mary one visit, and a Kentucky Mule the next. I will always try to get here when we are in town. To me it captures the quintessential Louisville experience.
Excellent burger and fries. They have quite a few daily specials and a good happy hour. The bar offers a great selection of bourbons and brews. The entire staff was very friendly.
Nice atmosphere and very good food. I got a lot more than I expected for the price too! The friend chicken is simply amazing. My wife had the meatloaf, she wasn't crazy about it, but she was also in a rush, can't speak for the quality of the meat loaf though as I didn't try it.
Recently dined at Dish with my family, and the service was outstanding, especially considering the size of our group. An interesting space, with a great menu. For an appetizer, we ordered the fried pickles (perfectly breaded and thickly sliced), which were delicious, as was the aioli dip! For my entree, I ordered the meatloaf (a mix of ground chuck, t-bone, and tenderloin beef, topped with a sweet glaze and a piece of bacon), served with green beans and mashed potatoes. Although the meatloaf was tasty (and of good quality), I was not a fan of that sweet glaze (I personally prefer a more traditional, heartier glaze), and the sides were slightly underwhelming (green beans were under-seasoned and mashed potatoes were slightly lumpy). I will absolutely return to try more of the menu!
Dish is one of my new favorite restaurants in Louisville. I have eaten here several times but usually only have an appetizer. But the last couple of times I've been there I've had the fried chicken but my new favorite is the pork chops. Two thin fried pork chops with gravy and green beans and mashed potatoes. This is a home cooked meal that I don't have to cook! Definitely give the pork chops a try!
Dish On Market in downtown Louisville is a relatively new, extremely popular, locally owned restaurant. Housed in the building where the old restaurant, Delta, once stood for decades, Dish On Market is the winner of several Leo Awards. In 2014 the restaurant won the Readers Choice, Best Burger, Best Bourbon List (they have 70 different Bourbons!), Best All You Can Eat Brunch, Best Bloody Mary and was a finalist in the Best Breakfast category.
That's alot of chicken. We had a Groupon for Dish and I'm glad I got one. It's pretty easy to find. Just look for Louisville's tallest building and it's right next door. Our meal was served with six pieces of chicken. Alot. They were pretty good, especially with mashed potatoes and green beans. Interior decor was nice where we sat, near the bar. Definitely want to come here for breakfast sometime.
A new "must try" in Louisville. I went to Dish with 5 coworkers yesterday while we are in Louisville working on a project. I had read a lot about Dish so we decided to give it a try yesterday. We had everything from burgers, sandwiches and fried chicken. I had the chili and it was delicious! I am usually hesitant to order chili out and I love my own homemade version, but this was very tasty. Not overly spiced! One of my coworkers had the fried chicken......he said it was amazing! It smelled delicious! I don't think he left any meat on the bones! I am very glad we tried Dish..............it will definitely be added to our list of favorite L'ville restaurants.
Bachelorette Party Catering. I recently used D.O.M. for a Bridesmaid catering event at the Seelbach in Louisville. Marshal did a fabulous job helping me select the menu. There we two gentleman that delivered the food and set it up for us in the room. It looked and taste amazing. The Bride was very please with how it turned out, as was I ( the host). I would highly recommend them for any Catering event you may be considering. Great job guys!
Our experience here was one-of-kind... the kind that will make you want to revisit Louisville and come back and visit an old friend. Josh was our waiter and he was awesome.
I was searching for a Derby Pie (to cross off my Louisville bucket list) and found this spot. Walked in with my mind set on just the pie. But, walked out crossing TWO items on my list: Derby Pie AND a Hot Brown. Both were divine and made my visit to Louisville!
If you’ve never tried it either, a Derby Pie or a Hot Brown... this is where you can. You won’t regret it! Next time, we’d love to try the array of mixed drinks and other stuff in the menu!
Most definitely worth a visit! And ask for Josh! He’s the best!!
One of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten! The meat was cooked just right and the bourbon bbq sauce was perfect. The staff were very friendly and quick to take orders. Didn’t have to wait long for the food to come out.
We stopped for breakfast on Sunday. I was hoping they had their Bread Pudding French Toast but they did not. I had a Belgian waffle with turkey sausage. And I had a huge apple juice. My wife had Avocado Toast with poaced eggs. Both of us were thrilled with our choices. Great breakfast!
We thought it was going to be packed at 9 am and were surprised that they were not packed. The buffet looked amazing but being vegan I was excited about breakfast tacos. They were very accommodating for me. My boyfriend got the regular breakfast tacos. The large mimosas was a great pour. Definitely recommend.
The staff was very friendly and attentive.
Awesome bar for breakfast or brunch and part of the Urban Bourbon Trail. A fantastic menu and very popular in downtown Louisville. On Sunday there is the brunch special where you can get your fill of Kentucky Food and drink. The liquor lice se kicks in at 10am and will pair nicely with their dishes.
A Great Little Dive Behind Main Street with Good Food and Lots to Drink.
Dish on Market offers one the downtown-area’s best breakfast, lunch and happy hour spots for the business-class customer. Dish has a long and narrow bar area with high definition television on one side, comfortable booths and quiet scenery on another side, while at the same time, there are tons of seating upstairs overlooking the downstairs dining rooms. Plenty of food choices for meat-eaters and vegetarians.
I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich ($10), that came with fried chicken dunked in their Dish Buffalo Sauce, lettuce, tomato, and kettle chips; I asked to top it off with blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese sauce… it was a glorious mess. The chicken was a huge piece, bursting through the sandwich and the sauce was tangy, hot, and delicious. Eating through it took both hands and with so much drippage, I couldn’t put it down—nor did I want to after I started into it. My buddy ordered the Louisville Hot Brown ($14), an open face dish with house smoked turkey, Texas toast, mornay, cheddar cheese, topped with green onions, tomatoes, and bacon. It looked very hearty and delicious and he cleaned it up. It’s on my list to try next time I visit Dish on Market; along with their Bloody Mary that comes with strips of bacon!
I’ve been here a couple times before and every time, it’s a solid experience, with good food, a great staff, and reasonable prices. There’s plently of space for large groups and their bourbon list is extremely extensive—something that is standard for any good restaurant in Louisville.
This place was awesome!!! The food was great, especially the chicken and waffles!!! The breakfast buffet had everything you could ask for and it was delicious!!! This is my new breakfast spot everytime I'm in Louisville!!!
The bartender, JoLynn was wonderful. She makes you feel at home!
I ordered the Hot Brown on Saturday and had to have another before heading back home. Awesome that they are open on Sundays.
I'll definitely make a stop there each Louisville visit.

Wonderful place, fast service, great food..parking is hard, but worth it. The mushrooms were wonderful, and the chili and grilled cheese hit the spot on as rainy cold day.
I like to visit on the weekends for the brunch Buffet. I believe it's from 11am-2pm. There's an omelette station with several items to choose from. The cook is very welcoming & in my opinion he makes the best omelettes in the city. The buffet is kids friendly. The atmosphere is cozy. The location is in the heart of Downtown, right on Market Street not far from Fourth Street Live. Kids eat for $7 & adults $13.99 I believe. Friendly staff.
