Our experience here was one-of-kind... the kind that will make you want to revisit Louisville and come back and visit an old friend. Josh was our waiter and he was awesome.
I was searching for a Derby Pie (to cross off my Louisville bucket list) and found this spot. Walked in with my mind set on just the pie. But, walked out crossing TWO items on my list: Derby Pie AND a Hot Brown. Both were divine and made my visit to Louisville!
If you’ve never tried it either, a Derby Pie or a Hot Brown... this is where you can. You won’t regret it! Next time, we’d love to try the array of mixed drinks and other stuff in the menu!
Most definitely worth a visit! And ask for Josh! He’s the best!!

One of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten! The meat was cooked just right and the bourbon bbq sauce was perfect. The staff were very friendly and quick to take orders. Didn’t have to wait long for the food to come out.

We stopped for breakfast on Sunday. I was hoping they had their Bread Pudding French Toast but they did not. I had a Belgian waffle with turkey sausage. And I had a huge apple juice. My wife had Avocado Toast with poaced eggs. Both of us were thrilled with our choices. Great breakfast!

We thought it was going to be packed at 9 am and were surprised that they were not packed. The buffet looked amazing but being vegan I was excited about breakfast tacos. They were very accommodating for me. My boyfriend got the regular breakfast tacos. The large mimosas was a great pour. Definitely recommend.
The staff was very friendly and attentive.

Awesome bar for breakfast or brunch and part of the Urban Bourbon Trail. A fantastic menu and very popular in downtown Louisville. On Sunday there is the brunch special where you can get your fill of Kentucky Food and drink. The liquor lice se kicks in at 10am and will pair nicely with their dishes.

A Great Little Dive Behind Main Street with Good Food and Lots to Drink.
Dish on Market offers one the downtown-area’s best breakfast, lunch and happy hour spots for the business-class customer. Dish has a long and narrow bar area with high definition television on one side, comfortable booths and quiet scenery on another side, while at the same time, there are tons of seating upstairs overlooking the downstairs dining rooms. Plenty of food choices for meat-eaters and vegetarians.
I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich ($10), that came with fried chicken dunked in their Dish Buffalo Sauce, lettuce, tomato, and kettle chips; I asked to top it off with blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese sauce… it was a glorious mess. The chicken was a huge piece, bursting through the sandwich and the sauce was tangy, hot, and delicious. Eating through it took both hands and with so much drippage, I couldn’t put it down—nor did I want to after I started into it. My buddy ordered the Louisville Hot Brown ($14), an open face dish with house smoked turkey, Texas toast, mornay, cheddar cheese, topped with green onions, tomatoes, and bacon. It looked very hearty and delicious and he cleaned it up. It’s on my list to try next time I visit Dish on Market; along with their Bloody Mary that comes with strips of bacon!
I’ve been here a couple times before and every time, it’s a solid experience, with good food, a great staff, and reasonable prices. There’s plently of space for large groups and their bourbon list is extremely extensive—something that is standard for any good restaurant in Louisville.

This place was awesome!!! The food was great, especially the chicken and waffles!!! The breakfast buffet had everything you could ask for and it was delicious!!! This is my new breakfast spot everytime I'm in Louisville!!!
Amy
The bartender, JoLynn was wonderful. She makes you feel at home!
I ordered the Hot Brown on Saturday and had to have another before heading back home. Awesome that they are open on Sundays.
I'll definitely make a stop there each Louisville visit.

Wonderful place, fast service, great food..parking is hard, but worth it. The mushrooms were wonderful, and the chili and grilled cheese hit the spot on as rainy cold day.

I like to visit on the weekends for the brunch Buffet. I believe it's from 11am-2pm. There's an omelette station with several items to choose from. The cook is very welcoming & in my opinion he makes the best omelettes in the city. The buffet is kids friendly. The atmosphere is cozy. The location is in the heart of Downtown, right on Market Street not far from Fourth Street Live. Kids eat for $7 & adults $13.99 I believe. Friendly staff.

Excellent prices and good quantity, burguers and fries are awesome, the sandwich are good and the chips could be improved. Staff was very friendly. You can sit outside and can smoke if needed.

Loved this place!! Excellent menu items. Heard the Sunday buffet is awesome. Had an excellent burger. Reservations are good but you can get in with a little wait.
Avram Granett
Scrumptious drinks! The root beer float was amazing. They comp'd us the fried pickles... which were amazing by the way...and we ordered the hush puppies. This was enough food for the night, but we then enjoyed the fried chicken and chicken and waffles. This was enough food for a village! We heard that the bourbon pound cake was delicious!!!
Joe Howard
Awesome bartenders and great prices compared to some other places around. Would definitely recommend their flights. Don't forget to have your book stamped!!

What else can be said about perfection? Amazing breakfast to be had here. The rest of the menu looked great as well. Very friendly staff.
Ryan Speight
Any place that serves breakfast items all day is a place worth eating at! I’ve been here a few times for a team lunch and I have yet to be disappointed. There is plenty on the menu to choose from to please everyone in your party. The only issue is that if you’re eating here during the weekly lunch rush, you’ll find yourself waiting a good bit for a table. All in all, a safe bet.

Really good food, great service, hate I forgot the waiter's name but he was cool. Had some great suggestions like putting my Hot Brown Burger on Texas Toast.
Phillip Cook
Weekend brunch buffet is great. Loved the omlet station, fried chicken and the hot brown. Service was also great. Really nice place.
Fred Vincent
Visited during lunch time. Had the fried chicken - it came with beans, potato salad, and hush puppies. Food was excellent as was the service. Glad I chose the Dish for lunch today.
Jamie Loman Verhoff
Oh man. The food... well, I haven’t tried a lot but what I have tried was great. The hot brown was sooo yum. And the hot brown breakfast dish was to die for. My husband had the chicken and waffles which was also amazing. Cocktails were spot on. We had Bloody Mary one visit, and a Kentucky Mule the next. I will always try to get here when we are in town. To me it captures the quintessential Louisville experience.
Foodieatheart
I was pretty disappointed when I came for breakfast. Everything we ordered was bland or cold. The sausage patty was dry and flaovorless. Biscuits and gravy were awful. Hot brown with eggs were cold. Definitely won't be back. So glad I didn't come to dish and spend $30 an entree for dinner.
LC
Excellent burger and fries. They have quite a few daily specials and a good happy hour. The bar offers a great selection of bourbons and brews. The entire staff was very friendly.
Jason R
Nice atmosphere and very good food. I got a lot more than I expected for the price too! The friend chicken is simply amazing. My wife had the meatloaf, she wasn't crazy about it, but she was also in a rush, can't speak for the quality of the meat loaf though as I didn't try it.
Chelsi Anya Chang
Hot brown was pretty good, service was a little slow. Fried chicken was fried to perfection but there was no flavor to it, the sides were so bland I didn't end up eating them.

Recently dined at Dish with my family, and the service was outstanding, especially considering the size of our group. An interesting space, with a great menu. For an appetizer, we ordered the fried pickles (perfectly breaded and thickly sliced), which were delicious, as was the aioli dip! For my entree, I ordered the meatloaf (a mix of ground chuck, t-bone, and tenderloin beef, topped with a sweet glaze and a piece of bacon), served with green beans and mashed potatoes. Although the meatloaf was tasty (and of good quality), I was not a fan of that sweet glaze (I personally prefer a more traditional, heartier glaze), and the sides were slightly underwhelming (green beans were under-seasoned and mashed potatoes were slightly lumpy). I will absolutely return to try more of the menu!

Dish is one of my new favorite restaurants in Louisville. I have eaten here several times but usually only have an appetizer. But the last couple of times I've been there I've had the fried chicken but my new favorite is the pork chops. Two thin fried pork chops with gravy and green beans and mashed potatoes. This is a home cooked meal that I don't have to cook! Definitely give the pork chops a try!

Dish On Market in downtown Louisville is a relatively new, extremely popular, locally owned restaurant. Housed in the building where the old restaurant, Delta, once stood for decades, Dish On Market is the winner of several Leo Awards. In 2014 the restaurant won the Readers Choice, Best Burger, Best Bourbon List (they have 70 different Bourbons!), Best All You Can Eat Brunch, Best Bloody Mary and was a finalist in the Best Breakfast category.

Laid back local spot for a tasty, affordable meal and a good drink. We like it as a place for a cozy breakfast on a cold winter Sunday, and the buffet is a great value. I'm not a fan of their bloody mary, which is disappointing, because it has a very strong celery flavor. Almost as if they use juiced fresh celery in their mix. I've enjoyed casual food and drink here several times.
Jsamson311
Love the brunch. Went there for brunch on Saturday, and they have lots of options for their buffet, and it's a pretty good value. I especially love their hot brown!
Steve
That's alot of chicken. We had a Groupon for Dish and I'm glad I got one. It's pretty easy to find. Just look for Louisville's tallest building and it's right next door. Our meal was served with six pieces of chicken. Alot. They were pretty good, especially with mashed potatoes and green beans. Interior decor was nice where we sat, near the bar. Definitely want to come here for breakfast sometime.

I only eat lunch out a couple of days a week and the last couple of weeks I have gone to dish. I got the fish sandwich special a couple of weeks ago and they have changed the fish. It was very greasy and not what I had normally gotten there. I went back again for their hamburger special. I requested that it be medium. It was very rare and bloody. It took 45 minutes for us to get our food. I only get an hour for lunch. The server was so busy they were never able to come back and check on us. Today I decided to try it again because their hamburgers used to be so good. I asked that mine burger be medium well and my friend asked that hers be well done. They were both rare and bloody but our server never came by to check on us. It was cold. They have changed their fries but they were hot. The burger was cold and bloody. I have been very disappointed the last sever\al of times I have been there. I am very sad. Sorry. But it is the truth.

A new "must try" in Louisville. I went to Dish with 5 coworkers yesterday while we are in Louisville working on a project. I had read a lot about Dish so we decided to give it a try yesterday. We had everything from burgers, sandwiches and fried chicken. I had the chili and it was delicious! I am usually hesitant to order chili out and I love my own homemade version, but this was very tasty. Not overly spiced! One of my coworkers had the fried chicken......he said it was amazing! It smelled delicious! I don't think he left any meat on the bones! I am very glad we tried Dish..............it will definitely be added to our list of favorite L'ville restaurants.

I wa quite optimistic about this place. Alas, the only positive aspect of my breakfast experience was that te people are super nice and the coffee was good.
I got chicken and waffles. It was a 3/10... It fails on multiple ways: under seasoned, the balance of maple, savory chicken flavor and herbs are horrid. So bland it barely taste like chicken. Waffles were horrid as well it was soggy, did not add a nice rich buttery flavor or any texture .
Worst thing, it came out COLD! When server was told, she took it back and microwaved it. How do I know ? Because the waffle and piece of chicken I was eating was exactly the same AND butter was melted. voila! It's warm now.
Heartbreaking and unforgivable.
Please don't waste your time

Great Food and Great Service!. I had the traditional eggs, biscuits, bacon, and grits! Couldn't be happier! Debated between the dish burger or the Fried chicken for a take away lunch! Honestly looking forward to comfort food on a rainy afternoon! Thank you Dish on Market for your upbeat personality and ability to sense when I needed something and when I was just trying to watch CNN or read the Wall Street Journal! Above my expectations! A place for all to eat at!

Food Quality is No More. I used to tell everyone how great the burger was at Dish...I went today and they have changed so much. Our booth was ripped, table was leaning, and the food was frozen grade. The fries used to be fresh and homemade....not anymore. The burger used to be thick and juicy...not anymore. The service was ok, but the food was bad. I will no longer recommend this place to people.

Heard great things and dropped by about 9:30pm for a quick bite before their 10:00pm advertised closing time only to be told by the wait staff that they had closed early because things 'had been slow' that night. Lost revenue and a very bad impression. Unlikely we'd ever try it again.

Bachelorette Party Catering. I recently used D.O.M. for a Bridesmaid catering event at the Seelbach in Louisville. Marshal did a fabulous job helping me select the menu. There we two gentleman that delivered the food and set it up for us in the room. It looked and taste amazing. The Bride was very please with how it turned out, as was I ( the host). I would highly recommend them for any Catering event you may be considering. Great job guys!

I really like Dish a bit but I also have conflicting feelings about it. I like the atmosphere and the overall brunch menu, but they recently raised the prices. I get that, food's expensive... but some of the brunch selections are pretty pricy. But overall, I get a pretty decent brunch when I come here. I love their big breakfast platter, especially that they use Purnell's. And to be honest, their biscuits and gravy are among my favorites in town. I also do enjoy their hot brown baked eggs too. While more expensive than before, I'll probably keep coming back.

Fabulous: we'll be back. Just got home from a glorious dinner at Dish on Market: I wish I were hungry so I could go back right now and eat some more. This place is seriously good. I am now on a campaign to get everyone I know to eat here.

This place is so good that it even converted my English boyfriend to liking grits. And believe me, he had a serious case of GAP: Grits Attitude Problem.

Fritters were good. Tobacco and whiskey was fabulous - I never would have ordered this without encouragement, but tasted just one and we ended up fighting over it - order at least two servings!

3 pieces of chicken comes with mashed potato, beans, and cornbread - good gentle (and plentiful) food for traditional palates. Shrimp and grits was a flavour explosion - glorious, with shrimps the size of my fingers.

Chocolate brownie with Bluebell ice cream was mmmm. Perfect end to a gorgeous meal. All of the servings were generous, but we got a doggie bag so we could try the dessert as well.

Bourbon menu was two sides of a sheet of 8 x 11. Which didn't interest me. I'm not a bourbon fan... but the bourbon with champagne and lemon cocktail has started to change that.

Apostic red wine was superb. B'friend say s the wine list was "short but very select".

Flawless service. Attentive and friendly, but never intrusive.

Very fair prices. Glad we didn't go to the pricey Italian place nearby, which we'd been considering. Dish on the Market serves food that is at least as good, with friendly service, unpretentious atmosphere, and at 1⁄3 the price.
Sunnyrose29
Very slow service and pretty bland food. When even the bacon is too bland to eat? Yikes!

We ordered take-out, the Kentucky Eggs Benedict and the Germantown Po Boy with sauce on the side were both really good. Would suggest either and loved the Benedict! Can't wait to be back in town to eat in the restaurant.

Already a lunch regular..But had the steak and potatoes for dinner one evening....phenomenal... filet was perfect...friendly server and prices below average

Not for groups. I had made a reservation for 12 with enough notice to either staff or prepare. I had asked in my reservation to notify me if checks could be split and if credit cards were accepted. I had to call and follow up. Once there we were seated and provided drinks. We placed our orders with an order of appetizers. An hour later and still no appetizers I had to ask where they were. (At this point everyone around us had ordered, eaten, and paid and still no apps for us.) finally they came and 30 minutes later I had to ask where our entrees were. 15 minutes later they arrived...fries were cold, "toasted" sandwich wasn't toasted and sides were forgotten. One would think if given over an hour to prepare the meals they would at least be correct. We were comped a drink eat but this wasn't the dinner spot I was expecting based on the research and reviews.

Excellent breakfast/brunch menu. The Market Breakfast is just right and the eggs Benedict was great, too. And very good, fresh diner-style coffee.

Dish on Market was awesome! The Hot Brown was delicious and the Big Damn Brownie was huge...but it definitely needed ice cream. Our server, Kim, was great and I will definitely be coming back!

We had reservations for a large party on Saturday night. We were seated promptly but our party was a little bigger than expected and the server wasn't too happy about it. I understand she was busy but it could have been handled differently.. Great, great food and soo reasonably priced. I have the veggie plate (green beans, black bean soup, salad and sweet potato fries) and my boyfriend had the Market burger -- both were amazing. Other than the server issue and a few loud squeaks by the mic check downstairs, overall great experience. We will definitely be back.

Poor Start, Tasty Finish. Nothing like making a reservation, arriving promptly, watching walk-ins arriving after you being seated before you, and finally being seated dead last over 30 minutes late. Great start Dish!
Dish was busy tonight. I get it. Not happy about the pre-seating service, but I'm over it. The dinner was tasty. I had the Malibu Chicken sandwich at the recommendation of our server and chose the grilled version. My dinner companions enjoyed their meals as well and even though our server was very busy, he was very helpful, friendly and kept my water full. Overall I enjoyed my experience and would recommend Dish on Market.

Great meal. Service was a bit slow but the staff were very nice and the food was excellent. The Hot Brown burger was really amazing and they have the best chicken & waffles I've ever eaten. Cant wait to go back....

PS: Dish.....please purchase higher quality silver ware even if its second hand and doesn't match. the super cheat lightweight stuff you have know is a little difficult to eat with.

My opinion is very high. My wife and I just had an outstanding breakfast. I had the meat omelet with potatoes corn muffin and cheese grits. Everything was great especially the grits. Not instant like so many places do but real stoneground grits with a very flavorful blend of cheese. I think the best compliment I can give is they are equal to what you get in charleston south Carolinas many great restaurants. Also service was great. Friendly and fast.

Awesome service, awesome food. We wandered into this place the other night before a show after hearing from a few people that dish was just alright. but it was in a convenient location so we thought why not. well clearly, all my friends are delusional. the food was great and the prices were very reasonable. the quality of the food though didnt even come close to the service. demetrius was our server, and he took us on an amazing tour of dish's bourbons. he was so friendly and engaging without pressuring us to spring for an expensive bourbon. he was seriously one of the best servers i've ever had. the food was quick too, which solidified this as a great staple for dinner pre or post any downtown louisville activitiy!
Amy Hurley
Yuk! Food was bland and uneventful. Grits were so bad it was inexcusable. Do your taste buds a favor and head further down on Market to Harvest

Saturday Aug. 12, 2012 was our first visit to Dish on Market. We met the bartender: Stewart and the owner: Marshall, we did not met his brother. I just want to say, I am a good cook, but there food is great! My husband had a ribeye steak, which was huge and I had the chicken, I will never go to KFC again. I told Marshall, my chicken does not come out like his, outstanding people and this is now our favorite restaurant. I recommeded everyone to try the restaurant, they are also, ready for the game with tvs at the bar.

I have been to Dish many times and have always been greeted and treated with the up most resect. Service is prompt and food is always good. I highly recommend going there.

This is the worst dining experience I've had in years! The service was horribly Slow, food dismal and environment was dirty. We waited 20 minutes for or drink order, and the table next to us had to send back there order because it was cold and then got up and left after it return to their table in the Same condition. We got up to leave after this but gave them five minutes to get it on the table or we'd do the same thing( we told them that we all had flights to catch upon sitting down / it took over 50 minutes). I wish we had left, the food was definitely not worth the wait. Awful

I should also mention that our the manager and the server were loudly discussing the problems right by our table and the cook in back appeared to be recovering from a hangover.
Redbeard
Burger was good. I order the Market Burger which is one of their signature burgers with 'tobacco onions', jalapeno jelly and bourbon barbecue sauce. It was a a good combination.

Our server/bartender was a bit overwhelmed, place seemed to be understaffed this evening, but she was still very pleasant and attentive.

Dish on Main Rocks. I have eaten at Dish on Main since it opened. The owners are friendly. The service is fast and courteous. The food is always fresh and delicious. I have had their hamburgers, chicken tenders, fish, taco salad, etc. Everything has always been very good. Today I tried their neopolitan cheesecake and that was delicious as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Lanetra Roe
Cozy & upscale at the same time. Always greeted with friendly smiling faces from both the staff and the owners. Everyone takes great pride in their outstanding service and succeed in making customers feel important and welcome. The restuarant's decor is interesting and makes for great conversation over breakfast, luch or dinner. The menu offers something for everyone, very original, (the Ribye is to die for) and prices are so reasonable. . . .Obviously a big fan!!!

Good service and good burgers. We came here for a late supper when we were in town for Abbey Road on the River. The location is great, we were greater quickly, and the server was friendly. I did think that it took awhile for our food to come, though. The burgers were good--I had the market street burger with jalepeno jelly, which did make the burger a little messy. I wasn't too impressed with the fries, unfortunately, which is one of the few negatives here. They weren't hot or crisp.

You cannot miss this GEM!. The food, atmosphere and service are spectacular. I took my husband here for his birthday and the owner took special care of us. The prime rib was wonderful and I am not even a big beef person. I highly recommend sitting in the bar area and enjoying the decor and brews.
Thanks to the DISH for making a great evening. Looking forward to coming there again.

Barn Trio Burger. A delicious thickburger with a fried egg, country ham, and havarti cheese. Finish with traditional garden toppings.
Wow!!!

Good but online breakfast menu is the WEEKEND menu.

Good food at a good price. The valet at my hotel recommended Dish when I complained of the steep hotel breakfast price - $16! I ordered the Market Breakfast. It was perfect as was the service.

Hearty breakfast, intereting selection, good service.

Really Great Food, Crazy Cheap.. I had the chicken and waffles on Saturday morning and man-oh-man was the entire meal just delicious. Ordered a side of hash (while I like my hash to have a bit more crunch, it wasn't bad) that was delicious as well. My partner in crime ordered the Big Damn Breakfast and while his gravy on his biscuit seemed bland, the rest was good. I made the better choice if you happen to be there for breakfast, get the chicken and waffles. The one waitress running the joint was also amazing, literally running to get to everyone,

Keep on walkin'... Stopped in this morning for brunch and expected good food given the trendy decor and semi-chic atmosphere. To say the food was terrible would be a compliment. Boiled corned beef hash with crispy fried eggs and stale toast was par forthe course. Luckily the dining experience was rounded out with weak coffee and a 40 min wait for the tripe. How could this place be packed? Tourists steer clear...locals know better!

Dish is Delish!!!. I found out about this restaraunt when i started working on market street in early janurary. service is good, management is wonderful, and the atmosphere is great! i have not had anything i have not loved! the burger is a good deal for lunch. the donuts are amazing for breakfast or snack. the breakfast is just right in the morning. My favorite part is the $1 beers during happy hour! ridiculous!!! my favorite place to dine downtown- hands down! love it!

DISH ON MARKET IS AWESOME. Great atmosphere, Great service, Wonderful food, and Very friendly staff! The donuts are the Best!! And Happy hour $1 Beer, what more can you ask!!!!!

I ate at Dish on Market 3 times during my stay in Louisville. It's reasonably priced and the food is good. They also have an awesome happy hour. It has been open less than a year so they are still working out the kinks with service. The staff was so friendly the service issues were easy to forgive.
Achilles
Nice location and ambiance but service is crappy at best. Took them about 20 minutes before someone to stop by and take the drink order. By the time food arrived, it was over an hour!! At that point, the quality of food mattered little. Food was ok in general. Not sure if they are trying to go out of business.....
Julie Winklepleck
Vacation highlight!. We found Dish on urbanspoon, and our late breakfast was a highlight of our recent vacation. I had steak & eggs, best flank steak ever, so tender and wonderful. My partner had the fiesta breakfast, interesting and spicy without being too hot. I enjoyed a flight of bourbons (and the conversation with the owner that accompanied my selections). Wonderful bread pudding and scones. Press-pot coffee to die for. Just a wonderful dining experience.

Pretty good.. My husband went here the first time a few weeks ago. It had a very local feel and is def bigger than what it looks like from the outside. It wasn't too crowded when we were there for dinner (mid-week). Pork tacos were very good and we really enjoyed the fried green tomatoes. No complaints. My husband really liked his dry rub ribs, but couldn't finish the full rack.
Leslie Wilson
Eh service, ok food. This place was fine. The restaurant was empty when I went to meet friends for lunch. When I arrived first, I told them I was waiting for friends. They did not seat me until I asked for a table 15 minutes later, even though the restaurant was near empty. The food was fine, but not fantastic. I got the Monte Cristo which was decent.
Belinda Shelton
GREAT FOOD & SERVICE. 4-8-11 was my first time at Dish on Market. It was absolutely fantastic as they now have added new items to their menu. Wonderful service and fast. My two friends and I went and experienced a wonderful lunch with great fast service. To top it off, the manager and his brother (head cook) to the time to come out to ask how everything was and we couldn't have had better service and food. This is a fairly new restaurant and you need to try it. We plan on becoming regulars. Thank you.
Davie Boy
How does this place get bad reviews? The food is fresh, excellently prepared, cheaply priced, and all in a beautiful location with friendly staff. Came here twice when here for the weekend, and would definitely come back again.
Christopher
I am not usually critical but the food was greasy and the coffee was cold. I would not recommend. The atmosphere was good and the place has potential. Maybe it was an off day.

Not So Much. We went to Dish on Saturday morning around 10am. We were literally the only table in the place. Usually that makes me uncomfortable enough to leave, but I was starving. It took over five minutes for someone to get a drink order and then another seven to get the actual drinks. I counted five employees with nothing to do. Why did it take 12 minutes to get something wet on my table?

The menu looked pretty standard: diner with some aspirations towards upward mobility. My dining partner and I were both excited by the Bread Pudding French Toast so we ordered that in addition to the Big Ass Breakfast. Our food took longer than I would have expected for breakfast items.

The Bread Pudding French Toast was topped with a vanilla bourbon sauce and whipped cream. A presentation tip for Dish: spring for real whip. The obvious Redi-Whip threw me off immediately. Regardless of lack of style the French Toast tasted wonderful, for the first 3 or 4 bites. Then it started to fade. My impression is that while it reads great on the menu, it would take more talented cook to pull this off.

It's usually hard to screw up basic breakfast, but Dish gave it the good ol college try. My bacon was chewy enough to be mistaken for a Beggin Strip and my gravy was obviously straight out of a #10 can. My favorite part? My scrambled egss tasted like Band-Aids smell. I still don't know what might cause such a thing.

It would be hard for me to recommend this place when Toast is just a few blocks away. Or honestly, if I'm in that block again with nothing to nosh on, you'll find me at Panera.
Joe Melillo
Excellent cuisine, great service! Prices are so reasonable I dare not go any where else!

Two Distinct Experiences. I've been to Dish twice now--once for lunch on a weekday, once for brunch on a Sunday. The two experiences couldn't have been more different. The first time I went, I got the pasta of the day--linguine with clams in a white wine sauce with fresh tomato. My pasta was al dente perfect and the service was very good. I left feeling full and satisfied.

The second time....just wow. The service was the worst part--our server only graced us with her presence a couple of times, and even then seemed annoyed that we were bothering her. The portions were also pretty pitiful--I would have ordered a side dish to go with my breakfast enchiladas, if I'd been able to track down our server. The enchiladas themselves were still pretty tasty--chorizo sausage and egg in corn tortillas with guacamole and shredded lettuce on top. I did not leave full, and my gentleman friend was downright pissy over his steak and eggs.

I might go back in the future, when this new place has had time to work out the kinks. Meanwhile, I'll take my brunch business elsewhere.

Bland & Boring. I was visiting Louisville for the weekend and looked on urbanspoon to find a brunch suggestion. I was less than satisfied with the Dish on Market food. Our server was new, and not attentive. It would have been nice for someone to help her. She didn't even know what came with the meals. I had an omlet & crispy hash. The omlet was slightly burnt and the "crispy hash" was cubed potatoes with no flavor. Whoever wrote the menu deserves major points because everything described sounded great. I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Food might be good but we've been here for an hour and just had our order taken.

I LOVE this place. The food is awesome, 3 dollar wells (including martinis) ROCK! Never had bad food there, tried most of it.

I say this super lovingly—Dish is cheap. Their food, I mean, the food at the bakery, the happy hour, the breakfast a brunch and dinner—all cheap. I have no idea how they sell it so cheap, honestly, so I would go soon if I were you before they realize how bad we’re screwing them.

The waffles taste like a normal waffle and a funnel cake made a baby. A delicious waffely baby. Pair them up with some butter and syrup and you’ll be as happy as me.
Rare And Well-Done
Ahhhh breakfast...the most important meal of my day...two days a week. I'm not a big breakfast person on weekdays. Perhaps I'll grab an apple or grab a spoon full of cottage cheese straight out of the container, but that's about it. Weekends, however?? No
