I was told about Bossa Nova from a friend when I expressed that I was visiting LA. It was worth trying out. The atmosphere was great! The food was amazing! I had the Cajun blackened shrimp platter. There’s not a full bar there but that was fine by me. So worth it!
I usually pass by the place at early dark morning after a movie for its delicious meat or seafood stroganoff with fried plantains.
Well worth trying. Excellent food and drinks. Decent portions and tasty. The grilled food and pasta were delicious. Nice variety of foods and drinks
We got the recommendation from friend. He knows what he’s talking about . The club sandwich is awesome . I can’t take a photo of the food , because it’s all gone !!!
A very nice meal
This is a neighborhood restaurant that serves wonderful food. We ate here on a Sunday in July, 2018 based on the TA ratings. We were not disappointed. We shared appetizers of shrimp croquette and another similar one and had mains of grilled shrimp and steak. All of the food was outstanding and the caipirinhas were just right. My only complaint is that eating outside, we were annoyed by people hanging around in front of the restaurant. Next time, we will eat inside.
This is one of my favorite spots. If you like good food than this is the place for you.
TRY THIS PLACE!!! Tasty food, huge portions, low prices (especially at lunch time), and a menu that is full of choices. What more could you ask for? I love it!
Came here on a Thursday night (which may have been why it wasn't super busy), but I was seated right away. The service was good ans fast, the food was excellent, and the overall atmosphere set by the lighting and music made for a very relaxing, vibrant, and enjoyable dinner. I ordered the picanha with black beans, garlic mashed potatoes (if you ask they will add garlic to their mashed potatoes!), and roasted vegetables. Everything was excellent. I highly recommend if you are in the mood for a Brazilian steakhouse.
Went for post show food with a large group of 12 - all delicious!
I ordered the vegetarian mushroom bowl and it was v satisfying. Truffle fries and plantains are also extremely yummy - plantains are some of the best Ive ever had!
Eating here was a sheer delight. The flavors were almost soothing bathing my palette. There was also a freshness reminiscent of farm-to-table dining. Don't believe me, try it for yourself.
I’ve been here before and the experience was meh but this time around was SOOOO much better. We had to ask for help upon entrance since no one was at the front desk but we received help immediately. The waiter was very kind. He made sure that everything we ordered was correct and tasty. We really loved our drinks and food. We will be returning. Thank you for your services. The restrooms are clean.
The food is delicious and the service is great. Thank them. I will come again
First time there and loved it. Had the pizza and my sister had a plate. Both delicious. Banana pastry dessert was super yummy. Sat toward the front but never heard the traffic noise. Definitely going back.
The food was honestly very good, I ate a pasta and my friends asked for a plate of chicken, a salad and a sandwich, everything was full of flavors, I wanted to try a pasta and I am not disappointed, the portion was adequate and I left very satisfied. Hope to return soon
I came here with a friend of mine and someone who is like a grandmother to us. We had the BEST time. First off - they greeted us so kindly. We had to wait a bit for our table but the time went by so fast because they were so nice to us.
When we finally sat down I was OVERWHELMED with the options. It's a large front and back menu that has endless possibilities. There are many options for meat and seafood lovers, as well as vegetarian and vegan preferential eaters such as myself.
I had their fried plantains and truffle fries - both incredibly delicious. I decided on one of their bowls which had great proportions and was flavorful. My friend had salmon and our "grandmother" had the fettuccine alfredo. To top it all off we shared the New York cheesecake and even got one to go because it was that delicious.
My only regret is not taking pictures! We were so hungry and ate too fast, it completely skipped my mind. Next time I will!
UPDATE: I took pictures this time and went with a larger group. Still had a great time.
As a brazilian, this restaurant deserves 5 stars. Diversity and creativity. There's a good caipirinha de caju I would never imagined getting here in US. I will go to Bossa nova again sooner.
I don’t think you could order the wrong thing here. The hardest part of our visit was deciding what to get now, and what to save for our second/third/fourth visits.
The garlic bread, chicken, black bean soup, plantains, everything exceeded expectations magnificently. Definitely a must-visit.
