Review Odys And Penelope - Los Angeles

Fantastic food and overall experience. The vibe was contemporary without being pretentious. The centerpiece of the space is the large wood grill and open kitchen. Portions were medium sized. Definitely worth getting the cheese puffs as a starter. There was a nice bit of wood grilled smokiness in most of the dishes without being overbearing.

It's a nice restaurant. We came for the happy hour and the food was good. The hamburger had a decent portion size, the other dishes were a bit small. The drinks and especially the wines that were part of the happy hour were great. The decor is really cool. Also we need to mention that the staff, especially the bartenders are really authentically friendly and nice people.

It's a great place to have some drinks and enjoy their happy hour! I recommend to go early, otherwise you'll have to wait to get a table if you don't have a reservation, but you can also seat at the bar. The staff is really nice, the food is ok and their desserts are the best!

Rustic yet refined. Creative fine dining. Portions on the small side. The food was thoughtfully prepared. The service was bit rushed. The wine was another highlight!

Great service location and food! The chicken rice dish for brunch was fantastic! The doughnut holes, think beignets, were incredible. Try the pancakes over the waffles but the waffles are still pretty good. Fresh fruit too! We had dinner here before and may have enjoyed that more but would come back for brunch again too!

Beautiful restaurant in an old warehouse. It’s a large, bright and airy restaurant. They have a great menu and some really nice cocktails. The food was delicious and perfect for a hungover brunch. The service was good though a little on the slow side. Defiantly would recommend checking it out. Try the pancakes.

Really nice environment. Service was really good, the waiter also reccomended me some really good plates. I had the grilled Monterey squid to start. The plate itself was really good and tasty but i was disappointed by the quantity. Just four little squids for 15$. To follow i had the ribs on reccomendation of the waiter. I can't complaint those were amazing, highly reccomended for anyone who visits, the sauce was incredible. For 22$ though they could include a little side dish. I had to order that apart for 11$ (Brussels sprout fried rice). To conclude i had the chocolate rye pie. It came with chocolate mousse and mint icecream it was delicious.  I also had a glass of red cabernet from California. A little overpriced as a restaurant, probably because the neighbourhood is a little upscale, but totally worth it. I don't understand though why there are just two $$ on Google and not $$$, i think they should fix it. Anything else was really good, thank you for the experience in La Brea.  Might have to come back to try the fish next 😉

I had a delightful burger here for happy hour. It was 11 bucks, plus the service fee (no tipping required unless you wanna throw in a few bucks to make it an even 20%). The burger itself was very good. Smoky, sweet, perfectly cooked. Really dynamite. I also had some onion rings, which were cooked to perfection, golden brown, tender salty goodness awaiting within it's auburn crust. Overall, the service was dynamite, I sat at the bar and had a lovely time right up until two women sat beside me and talked very loudly about their life experience. One of them was also wearing a lot of perfume, which kind of threw of my sensory experience of this amazing burger. Still giving them five stars because the clientele should not affect a restaurant ranking. Come here for happy hour, especially on a Monday, since it runs all day. Seriously though, ladies, there were plenty of other spaces at the bar, why sit right next to me?

This place is fantastic!! The service is really good, even a little over the top (we had three waiters coming to take our orders all the time). We ordered off the happy hour menu and was totally impressed. I tried the cheese balls which were amazing, fresh out of the oven and my main course was a salad - the best I have had in my life. I cannot for the life of me remember what it was but all the ingredients and vinaigrette matched perfectly. Would def go again! Deco was great too.

Really good food. Cooked over oak. Not smoky or odd. Just super flavorful. Not over done. Interior is nice and modern. Staff are great. Owner is super nice and very cool to talk to. Really enjoyed the food. Cheese puffs are spectacular, avocado crab toast is the best I’ve had at any restaurant. The tri tip was perfect. The sauces and side sauces are delicious. .25¢per side sauce. With every penny.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in LA. Quinn Hatfield ' s last restaurant, Hatfield ' s, was great, but I like Odys + Penelope better. Real food cooked to be better than its parts. I'm never disappointed. Also the staff is amazing. The wait staff is always great and attentive, but there's a lot of support staff also. You'll never run out of water or wine without someone noticing immediately. They're famous for the desserts from wife, Karen Hatfield, and rightly so. She always amazes and delights. If you're in the area before Odys + Penelope opens, try Sycamore Kitchen, three store fronts down the street, for baked goods and coffee that are amazing! It's always packed, so best get a reservation. Even if you're eating early.

The cocktails are killer, especially the Palomino. The food was fantastic and the portions were solid (had the tri tip and the salmon). Above all the service really stood out. The hosts were super friendly, bartenders fast and attentive, and the server was great. All in all, great atmosphere and experience.

Welcoming staff and good service. Had the burger with onion rings, both were well prepared and excellent. There was only one dessert selection for brunch, but it was delicious. Will be dropping in for dinner service in the future to experience the full menu.

Went for all day Monday happy hour. We were stuffed! The burger is awesome. Good drinks. Didn’t love sitting by the fire since it’s sort of isolating but the food and drinks are solid and decently prices

The food was excellent. Between the seven of us we had two kinds of salad, shrimp, salmon, and chicken dishes. All were excellent. The service was very good very friendly and we had an excellent time! It is not the cheapest. But worth osts

I was able to experience this restaurant after reading so many fine reviews. Started with their Grilled bread crostini which was fab moved on to a main course, their Heritage rub pork loin! Wonderful. This feels like a neighborhood eatery but it also has a taste of an elegant casualness like appeals to me.
