Review Hae Jang Chon Korean Bbq Restaurant - Los Angeles

We came to the place at a super busy time in the holidays. The wait was about 40 minutes for us. But the staffs are nice and respectful. And there are seats outside the restaurant. So the wait was not bad. The food is very good. I highly recommend the beef tongue. It is worth trying here if you have never had it beforešŸ¤—ā¤ļø More than half of the complimentary sides are spicy, but they are all delicious. I really liked the the pickled radish and apple potato salad. šŸ„²The portion of each order is big for a single person or a group of 2. You can easily order too much food if you don't eat a lot. But it is a great portion size for a group of 3 or 4.

Cool Korean BBQ spot I tried out. They had a great cooking surface. Not the standard metal grill that meat sticks to easily. Tried multiple meats of course...The marinated bulgogi and spicy marinate were my favorites.

Echo every good thing other reviews mentioned. Meat quality is top-notch. They grill the meat for you but still allow you to enjoy the food at your own speed. I tried almost every meat they offer except chicken, and my favorite is the marinated beef rib with bone. It melted in my mouth, lol. I love it and will come back. No line on Friday lunch.

The best AYCE Korean bbq restaurant. Weā€™ve decided to come here for our motherā€™s bday. Yes, we waited a bit but itā€™s worth if youā€™ve been wanting to have Korean bbq. The meat quality is good and good portion, service was fast and theyā€™re attentive too. Been here couple of times before but I donā€™t wait that long before. Though, lots of people now are coming here because of the service as well as the quality of the meat. šŸ‘šŸ»

First time I've been to a Korean BBQ restaurant, and the employee cooks the meat for us. Very impressive! They also use stone grills instead of other steel/metal grills where the meat starts sticking to the surface after some time of cooking. Their meats are super fresh, delicious and seasoned well. Got the steak, spicy pork, bulgogi (twice), and beef brisket. Their banchan (side dishes) consisted of the fish cake, kimchi, choy some, bean sprouts, and mashed potatoes. Love this restaurant.

Food was delicious and they had a wide variety. The atmosphere felt a bit rushed with the place full and servers moving to and from the tables. The service was great in terms of bringing the dishes, but we didn't get water refills until our meal was almost over. Overall, great Korean BBQ place!
Susan Ha
Tons of meat options and good banchan as well. Staff was super efficient and would circle around the tables frequently. Overall the quality of meat was good but slightly bland if you donā€™t order the pre-marinated items. A good deal for lunch and I would suggest coming here with a group to make the most of the all you can eat.

Their meats are better than other korean bbq restaurants. The service is good and so is the location. The over all experience was great

Love this Ayce Korean bbq.. unlike most k bbq, they use a ceramic tray for cooking.. always a long line .. excellent service.. save room for their Korean fried rice!!

Best Dining Experience! If you love meat and barbeque, come to this place! They open until 2AM! Serving great AYCE barbeque with great service and real stone cooking utensil. We really enjoyed out late night dining experience here. A little tips, find a sauce that you like to pair with its meat. When we came, they have 4 selections: ponzu, sesame, tomatoe, and a bit chilly with soybean.. The sauce that you pick will have a lot of impact to the meat that you eat :)

Great spot for Korean. Itā€™s only all you can eat. The service is prompt, courteous and professional. The server comes and helps with the cooking every now and then. The restaurant is generous and offers a great products in general. We enjoyed our experience. The ambiance is like most other Korean bbq restaurants. Buzzingā€¦ it does get quite busy with a lineup outside. Highly recommended!

7/22/23: Excellent all you can eat Korean bbq. Went for lunch at noon on a Friday and there was no wait. Lunch is $38. Waitress was so friendly and energetic despite having worked there for 12 years. Great: Boneless marinated Short rib, thin sliced pork belly, beef tongue, kimchi pancake, cheese corn, radish wrap, rice wrap Good: Spicy pork belly, brisket Ok: Steamed egg (meh), bbq squid (didn't like flavor), kimchi fried rice (too much kimchi flavor)

Great korean bbq all you can eat. Service is really available and kind, great food, lovely atmosphere. We had to wait just for less than 10 minutes to be seated, but worth the wait. Great experience, once in lifetime you have to try it.

Good food thatā€™s reasonably priced. Itā€™s all you can eat so obviously not the best meat quality you will find, but still delicious. The best meat was the marinated beef rib fingers.
Sahel Nowroozi
Best KKB ever! They use a stone grill, all other places use a metal grill and honestly the stone I feel makes a huge difference in flavor! The kimchi pancakes taste so delicious and the waiters always check on you! Highly recommend!!!!

AYCE, this place rules! The quality of meats are great, and the service is amazing. Iā€™m glad my friend brought me here, one of the best kbbq experiences Iā€™ve ever had. Will definitely be coming back here next time Iā€™m in the area. If youā€™re deciding between this place and somewhere else, come here!

3/8/23 - My buddy and I visited this place when we got to Los Angeles on our first night. We didn't know it was all you can eat Korean BBQ, but glad we came. We got here a little bit before dinner time and didn't have to wait long because as we started eating, more and more people started showing up. We also took an uber here and was glad we did. There is parking, but I think it's all valet parking only, not sure first time in Los Angeles. You can only choose 3 meat a time which is okay. There is 4 different types of sauce to dip from, they were all good. All the meat that we order was fresh and tasted great. Even the sides were great. The server was attentive, and they actually cook for you, but will leave and attend to other customers, so I'm not really sure if I'm supposed to cook it myself or not, but we did anyways. Overall great experience will have to stop by again when if I ever come back to Los Angeles.

They have a plenty of quality meat options. Everything was very tasty. The service was very quick. We really enjoyed our time there. Will be back!

This place is definitely one of the best kbbq places Iā€™ve been to. A great selection of meats and banchan (side dishes). Suzie assisted us and she was amazing, very personable and helpful. Great customer service! Our new go-to spot when we visit LA.

Always wanted to go, the hour wait was a deterrent but I thought it was a sure sign it would be great, it wasn't. Anytime there is a bell you need to ring to get service its a warning sign but they did come by from time to time. They never brought our veggies. The staff all looked dead inside though. Bulgogi was soupy and had almost no flavor, the meat looked sub-yoshinoya... Chicken seemed to be thigh meat, not very good either. Miso soup was good. Beef brisket was ok, the rest of the meal wasn't memorable enough to remember apparently as I don't know what else we tried. Trendy place, not a good place 3/10

Excellent service, quality of food was great. Gon was our server and he took great care of us. Kimchi fried rice is a must try, we even tried the beef tongue. I use to go to bulgogi hut, you guys won me over and this is my spot now!!

I really do love this place. I've been here twice now, once for lunch and once late-night, after a show at the Wiltern. Both experiences were great, I've been lucky to not have to wait long at all either time, and the servers have been very helpful with meat suggestions and explaining about everything that's going on and how it's all supposed to work. $23 for lunchtime AYCE is a great deal! Ice cold Hite goes great with the meal and the side dishes are good and flavorful. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good Korean BBQ while in Los Angeles. I (we) will definitely be back!

First BBQ Iā€™ve ever done, and it was the best first experience. The food was fresh, tasted spectacular with all the side dishes. And the music is hip, something that created a great vibe. Not to mention the service; excellent!
Ashleigh Sandy Ghozali
Enjoyed the meat bbq and the staff was helpful with bringing out our selections.Just make sure that customers inform the waiter when taking a respite from the bbq, otherwise, the waiter will turn off the bbq and bring out the check.

First off this place was packed for a reason, the food is incredible and not to mention the music was absolutely banging, I have no clue what radio station was playing or what was going on but it's literally like being in the hottest club, music was 10/10.... food 10/10 this place is a must try.

The food is amazing!!! the service too!! our server was so nice! however, we went on a monday around 6pm and there was no line, i don't recommend the weekend because is really busy and wait is over an hour.

The best Korean BBQ. I stuffed my face & filled my belly to the absolute maximum. So many choices of meat, ban chan, kim chi rice, egg soufflƩ, pomegranate liquor and servers cooking for you on a giant stone griddle.

This is one of the best K bbq place I have been to. I believe I have been here with friends some years ago. The meat is ok, waiters are fast and pleasant. I wish the place is bigger tho.

The food was AmazingšŸ˜». Iā€™ve been to many Kbbqā€™s and this is one of my top faves! Our waiter was really generous and helpful. And also I LOVE the music choices, they played Kpop music like duh I couldnā€™t help but also sing alongšŸ˜…

James Yu
It was all you can eat Koran BBQ but you can order max 3 items each time only doesn't matter how many people you have ,and the meat wasn't fresh at all and the price was away too high bad service either never coming back again.

Thought it would be nice to try a place in Koreatown. This place had tons of great reviews, but is not as good as #UGrill in Rancho Cucamonga.

service was great. valet parking was only $2!!!! my favorite was beef prime rib..totally worth it.

It was my first Korean BBQ I was really excited it and nervous it was really good all the meats were excellent and loved that I got to experience some of the culture. One negative was the grill made it hot but we were also in a corner, overall I loved it.'

I love Korean bbq. So I super excited for this experience. Canā€™t get over all you can eat Korean bbq for that price!!! If that was in Australia youā€™d probably pay 4 times the price. All the meat was fresh and delicious. I tried beef tounfue for the first time and didnā€™t hate it. See this in the app

We were craving Korean BBQ and what better spot to do it than in K-town. We waited for what seemed like 30 to 45 minutes, a hoard of hungry people preparing themselves for an all you can eat feast. I didn't fancy the seafood here so we mostly gorged on thin slices of samgyupsal washed down with soju. A true meat sauna. Prices were cheap as compared with back home that's for sure.

First experience with KBBQ and it was fantastic! Decent price for all you can eat! Just be prepared for a bit of a wait, I think we waited about 2 hours for a table to open up

People of Color Not Welcome. April 12, 2015 -- DO NOT PATRONIZE. Three women friends of mine, all women of color, were treated rudely while ordering and eating, and before they had finished members of the waitstaff stood around their table, telling them to leave because the restaurant was "closing" -- while other customers continued their meals and new customers (not of color) were being seated.

Best Korean BBQ in Los Angeles IMHO. I was invited by my friend to Hae Jang Chon for Korean bbq and was just blown away! They've got a much wider array of choices than most Korean bbq restaurants I've been to. And I love their kalbi, the marinated short ribs....I just can't believe they include that in their ayce menu. Usually kalbi is reserved only for a la carte menus, but not here. I was impressed by the mere fact it's offered as an unlimited item, and also by the flavor and quality of the beef. It easily compares to the quality of a la carte. I will definitely be going back to get my kalbi and brisket on! Best Korean bbq in my opinion.

Great food and a fantastic experience. This is an all you can eat Korean BBQ restaurant. So there are a number of kimchi and side items on the table and a large stone grill in the center. You choose your meats, they bring them out raw/marinated and toss them on the grill. We had the BBQ marinated pork (which was my favorite), pork shoulder, beef tongue, beef short ribs, and squid. The staff all spoke English and were very helpful to teach us. Really a great experience and all you can eat for $17.99 dinner. The only downside was the hour wait in the crowded parking lot.
Sweet Tooth
I will say that I didn't care much for the service, but the food was good enough to distract me from my time there. Delicious beef short ribs, bulgogi, and pork belly. All you can eat. Keep ordering till they kick you out.

Hae Jang Chon Korean BBQ Restaurant Rocks!. I love this Korean BBQ restaurant! In all of Koreatown Los Angeles, I'd have to say Hae Jang Chon is the hippest, best Korean food restaurant with the tastiest Korean bbq for the price. Their all you can eat menu is $16.99 and you get a lot more choices of barbecue meats than other kbbq places in Los Angeles. There are a total of 19 items (actually 21 since you can have marinated or unmarinated beef short rib, which are 2 completely different items, or thin or thick sliced Canadian fresh pork belly, again 2 very different items). The quality of the meat is very high, considering it is all you can eat. It is always fresh, melt in your mouth quality, not chewy or tough. By the time I am finished eating all that bbq meat, I wonder if $16.99 can even cover the cost of the meat. It is truly a bargain. Hae Jang Chon is also known for their very popular kimchi fried rice at the end of the all you can eat bbq meal. It is the perfect ending to an already delicious and satisfying meal. If you have never tried out Hae Jang Chon Korean BBQ, I highly recommend them as it is the Korean restaurant with the best value and best atmosphere to hang with your friends and enjoy some of the best Korean food anywhere in Los Angeles.

After extensive research on multiple foodie sites, Hae Jang Chon seemed like a good choice, mentioned multiple times, and had a whopping 19 items on their AYCE menu for $17.99. Umā€¦ sold?

Some days, you have to let loose. Diets and counting calories don't matter. You shut down your hunger sensors and gorge in a all you can eat meat fest. Koreatown has Korean BBQ restaurant at almost every corner. One of my favorites is Hae Jang Chon on 6th Street. They offer some good quality meat and I personally like their selection. This is one of my favorites because of the stone plates that the meat is cooked on. These things are like the iron skillets that get passed down generation to generation. All the meat essence that was cooked before is still on there from past patrons. Time after time after time, all that meat essence is still there, and it comes out in the food. The time me and my family went, just like any other night, was a busy one. We waited nearly over an hour, so plan on doing the same. It was particularly loud inside. People were binge eating and drinking - nothing out of the ordinary on a Saturday night in Koreatown. This is all part of the Korean BBQ experience.

Saturday night's dining companion came equipped with the L.A. Times' recent 25 delectable dining deals article , so I relaxed and let him pick the restaurant, a refreshing change of pace for a food blogger. I haven't had Korean barbecue in quite a while,

Hae Jang Chon is one of the popular all you can eat Korean BBQ restaurant in Koreatown. Our server said we were really lucky because we didn't have to wait at all. Usually you have to wait 30-40 minutes. We ordered $17.99 AYCE per person. You order which items you want from AYCE menu, and they'll bring it for you. Be sure to not order too much food at once, they'll charge you $15 for any leftover meat. As you can see, the place was full. menu June, 2012 banchan steamed egg At the end, they'll add some rice to left over meat, and make fried rice for you.
