Review Pizzeria Mozza - Los Angeles

Viale M
We have been dining here since the restaurant opened, years ago. The quality has been so consistent and so high, that we ceased eating pizzas elsewhere in America. Here the dough is well rested and kneaded, the cheese is authentic buffalo mozzarella, and accompaniments make sense. Pro tip: sitting outside can be chilly. Pro tip: Henry, the sommelier, is exceptionally knowledgeable and generous with words and tastings. We'll be back - and we won't eat pizza anywhere else.

This pizza restaurant was said to be the best in the area, unfortunately even though the honey nut squash pizza was delicious, I think this would barely make our top 5 for the area. As stated we got the honey nut squash which was great, it had a mix of sweet and savory and was not too strong on any flavor. And we also got the fungimisti pizza, this one unfortunately felt like chewing rubber bands. It was overcooked and under-flavored. So this place is definitely a hit or miss location. For dessert we order the butterscotch budino, which is exactly what you think of, butter scotch. It is tiny for $10 and you should definitely mix it up to be able to enjoy all the different parts in each bite.

Summary: My favorite "fancy" pizza spot in LA. The flavors and seasonal varieties have been incredible, but perhaps the best part is the actual dough, which is not shocking considering this is Nancy Silverton we're talking about. You won't be able to say no to the crust! Be sure to try out the outdoor patio seating, which is a nice vibe complete with a Vespa! Food: Lick the plate - everything is delicious. There's about 15 choices for apps (salads, antipasti), about 10 pizza points (ranging from classics like margherita to creative/fancy stuff like njuda sausage/squash blossoms), and 10 "mains". Standouts include: Nancy's salad, Japanese Sweet Potatoes, any pizza. A full wine/drink list including mocktails. Service: Every waiter we've had is super nice. Fast and attentive. Atmosphere: Only tried patio, but can't recommend it highly enough. It's romantic but not overly so, good for dates as well as group dinners. Price: It's on the pricier side, but these days Domino's is charging like $17 for a pie so as the cliche goes, you pay for what you get. Parking: There's street parking, including free on the weekends. There's also a valet option for those who prefer that.

Very good pizza under the stewardship of celebrity chef Nancy Silverton (check out her Chef’s Table episode on Netflix for some backstory!). This is more a petition to make some of their seasonal/temporary specials more permanent. This includes the Burrata and Leek appetizer, and the Cacio e Pepe pizza. They were both delicious!!!

Ordered the Nduja and Il Benno (Hawaiian style) to go and we both loved our pies! Saw the inside briefly and it looked nice next time I’d want to dine in. It was very popular!

We had an absolute blast during our recent visit! Even though we had initially reserved a spot on the lovely patio, the chilly weather made us crave the warmth indoors. Guess what? The super-friendly staff went above and beyond to accommodate our request and found us the perfect cozy seating inside. Let's talk about the food—oh boy, those pizzas were out of this world! Each slice was a mouthwatering masterpiece that left us wanting more. But here's the surprise of the day: the chopped salad! It may seem simple, but trust me, it was a delightful revelation. We couldn't help but recommend giving it a try alongside their famous pizzas. You won't be disappointed! To sum it up, our experience at this restaurant was nothing short of amazing. From the flexible and welcoming staff to the explosion of flavors in every dish, we left with satisfied bellies and happy hearts. Hats off to this incredible place for their dedication to culinary excellence. If you're looking for a memorable dining adventure, make sure to pay them a visit. You won't regret it!

Delicious take on pizza. The hype is all it’s made out to be. Very impressive that each of the five pizzas that we tasted, were all unique, creative, thoughtful to the ingredients, all in balance, and all totally different but equally incredible. Great atmosphere, wonderful salad, helpful and attentive service, lovely vibe and can’t wait to return. Some of the best pizza I’ve had in the USA and maybe the world (yes, I’ve eaten pizza all over Italy/NYC/Philly).

In the heart of LA, an Italian corner shines thanks to Pizzeria Mozza, owned by renowned chef Nancy Silverton. This culinary gem is proud of its Bib Gourmand recognition from the Michelin guide, an award reserved for restaurants that offer excellent meals at moderate prices. The appetizer of Tuscan crostini and baked olives was tasked with opening the dance. The experience was sublime, with the freshness of the ingredients honouring Italian cuisine. The stars of the show, of course, were the pizzas. We opted for a Margherita and a Napoletana. The dough was crispy, more similar to that of bread, a bold touch that contributed to the uniqueness of the experience. The ingredients were freshest, as expected in a venue of this caliber. The minor flaw was the excess of spiciness in both pizzas, which ended up covering the more delicate flavours. Despite this, the pizzas were delicious and worthy of the fame of the place. The service was excellent, with friendly and welcoming staff. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable, helping to make the entire experience memorable. We can't wait to return to try other dishes on the menu. Overall, we would assign Pizzeria Mozza four stars out of five.

I absolutely love Pizzeria Mozza. Been here multiple times and have always had a fantastic experience. Staff is friendly and attentive, food is mouthwatering delicious, and the atmosphere is comfy but also classy. It can be loud inside, since it's not too big a place, but the building has high ceilings, and there is an open kitchen to add to the view. You can watch the staff stretch, top, bake and finish the pizzas, which is super fun. The food also came out quickly, hot, and well flavored. There is consistency from each time I've been in and I can see that the staff is well trained and care about their service. Overall it's a great place that many people care about, including the owner Nancy Silverton, so I greatly respect that. It's a great place to go on a date, with your family, or if you just want to enjoy a pizza with some wine.

Mozza is a Bib Gourmand rated restaurant in West Hollywood in LA. It has two outlets side by side, Pizzaria and Osteria - which serves a full meal. I was told that the pizzas served in the pizzeria are the best in LA. As I have not tasted all the pizzas in LA, the only thing I can say is that the pizzas here are very good. All are freshly made - hence a wait of 20-30 mins. As are the appetisers, which are very well done. This retaurant is certainly worth trying if you are ever in the area. The only downside is the cost. This may be the most expensive pizza I have ever had! Prepare to blow $60/head. Add $20 with alcohol. Rating : 5⭐️ Cost : 3💰

✨ Book for outdoor seating! It's such a unique space and a completely different vibe, you'll spend half the time wondering what the heck this back patio space used to be. As the host walked us down the alley to our reservation, he described the experience we were about to have as very "Lady and the Tramp" 😄 🍕 The food is amazing, probably some of the best meatballs and pizza i've had in LA. Every bite is packed full of flavour - make sure you leave room for dessert! 🌟 The service was impressive. We had probably 3 different servers attending to us throughout the night but they communicated well with each other and each of them was aware of any requests or orders. 🚙 The only difficult thing here is parking - it's valet only, or you can choose to park on the street but it's near a very residential area so there are lots of parking restrictions.

Wonderful food and service here. Five start experience! I love the foods. I think they really deserve the Bid Gourmand Michelin rating. We have been coming here for several years, but ever had the chance to do a review. This is one of the best LA restaurants and it was featured in one of the Netflix Chef's table. After watching the show, I had much more appreciation of what's going on in making their food at the restaurant. They make their food with love here. It really shows in the taste and flavors of the dishes. We came here to celebrate our son's birthday last night and had an amazing experience. We ordered a few appetizers that included a meat ball al Forno, Burratina Pugliese, and a salad to start the evening. The meatballs were amazing. The flavor was right on for me. The Burratina was even better with their in house made cheese, soft, chewy and tasty. For main, we ordered a mushroom pizza and two pasta dishes. They were fantastic. I had one of the best pizza experience last night. The pizza was chewy and crunchy. The flavor of the mushroom elevated the pizza taste to another level. For the two pastas, we love the work they put into preparing this dish. The Raviolo had an egg inside and when we cut into it, the egg yolk flowed out from the ravioli to create a wonderful dinning experience. For dessert, we had the Butterscotch Budino. This was my first time had this delicious dessert. The taste was just amazing. I wondered why I've never ordered this before. This Butterscotch Budino was a total showstopper in both taste and presentation. It gave a perfecting ending to our evening.

I really enjoyed this restaurant and it’s ambience. The staff is really nice and welcoming and the food is great. Try the Aran ink and mushroom pizza 🤤 A couple of reasons I gave it one less star was that we asked for extra marinara sauce on the side and were charged for it. Thats more than a little lame. Another reason was, I wasn’t too thrilled with my Asian inspired up pizza of the week/month/whatever the special it was that at the time. While the pizza itself is tasty, they definitely skipped on the toppings and it was mostly dry pizza dough, very little sauce and cheese unlike the mushroom counterpart – hence the reason I asked for the marinara.

Simply stellar. The most "Italian" dining I've had outside of Italy. When you view the menu, nothing looks terribly special. Everything sounds nice, but normal. You'll order a few things to share. And when you have your first bite - it all makes sense. This place takes the best quality simple ingredients and makes incredible meals from them. No crazy prep, no mind bending presentation - but the best way that simple, quality ingredients can be prepared and presented. My third visit, every dish just soars. Just go - you'll love it.

I came here after watching Chef's table and I was not disappointed. The food was spectacular and every single aspect of the meal was perfect. The food felt like a combination of comfort food and world class cuisine. The pizza was delicious, the squash blossoms were amazing, and the meatballs were perfect. I can't wait to come back next time I'm in town.

This place is so so cute!! My boyfriend made reservations for dinner here and we were able to get seated right away. Parking is a bit hard in the area but they have valet for $15. The restaurant has seating located in the back alley so don't be alarmed when the hostess takes you through an alley first, it's all part of the experience. They asked us where we wanted to be seated and we chose a seating up the stairs because it was more secluded and you get a romantic view from up top. If you get lucky, you might see fireworks like we did! I was a bit confused because some Yelpers posted pasta photos on this Yelp page. However, don't be mistaken: this is PIZZERIA mozza so only pizza is served. If you want pasta, you'll need to eat next door at OSTERIA mozza! We ordered to start with Arancini alla Bolognese and 2 pizzas as our main dish: the Funghi and the Meat pizza. Wow...both were absolutely delicious!! I was blown away by the meat pizza but my boyfriend enjoyed the Fungi pizza more. Both were cheesy and the bread was fluffy and yummy. I absolutely loved the meatballs and the margherita sauce. We also ordered the popular dessert Butterscoth Budino but it was just ok: a little bit too sweet for my taste. The cookies it comes with are also too herby for my liking.

Busy the day after Thanksgiving but we got a table in the wine room which although it’s a bit darker it was much quieter than the main room. Food was delicious and service was great. The meatballs al forno were possibly the best meatballs I have ever tasted. Tuna panini was great and the gelato was perfect. Pricey lunch but worth it for a nice treat.

I’m done with this place! The time before this the food was so salty it was like a saltlick. We thought maybe it was a bad nite. This time was the same, my daughter said her salad was salty, my Fenel Sauage pizza was drowning in salt. I had to drink 2 bottles of water. The crust was so so, this place has gone way down hill. Valet parking was $14 dollars, outrageous!

Maybe the best pizza I’ve ever had. I highly recommend the ‘Nduja, smoked scamorza, fontina, leeks & egg pizza, along with a fine glass of Italian red wine.
Anna Albert Broekman
I never thought a salad could taste so good. I tried three different salads and, I swear, if that is all I had I would have been more than satisfied. Then our pizzas arrived and I had never ever tasted anything like it. The crust was superb as were all the different pizzas we ordered. I would definitely choose to eat here before any other place!

Excellent service, great vibe, and beautifully executed food! One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had (the crust was amazing). Wine was wonderful also....I wanted to order everything!

It was the best pizza I have ever had. Totally worth the hype! My boyfriend took me for my birthday. Every bite was amazing. We are still talking about it, and trying to figure out when we can come back!!!

Delicious homemade Italian food and the best pizza dough you will ever try! Enjoyed every minute of our visit - from the atmosphere, to the quick service despite the full restaurant, to the amazing food!

Had the meat lovers pizza—to say the ingredients were the best I have ever eaten...would be accurate

Sit at the pizza bar and watch an amazing team make remarkable pizzas! Try the fennel sausage for the most amazing pie you've ever eaten and the Butterscotch Budino (pudding) is a must.

The visit here was epic. It's been 24 hrs and I'm still talking about it. The Mrs. and I got away from the little ones and loved everything about this place. We saw it on Chef's Table and loved the appetizer, fennel sausage pizza and butterscotch pudding with two pine nut rosemary cookies. We plan on coming back to go through the menu. Was well worth the one hour drive for the experience and get away. 10 out of 10 with awesome service and beyond memorable food!

Had the best pizza I've had in a long while here: the base was perfect, the flavours amazing and the staff and atmosphere wonderful. Go!

Each meal I have at Pizzeria Mozza is more delicious than the last. The insistence on excellence that is evident here makes this one of our go-to places whenever we are in Los Angeles. Chef Nancy Silverton has created a menu that is packed with delicious options that delight your taste buds and make you want to keep coming back again and again. Bravo!!

I was told the meat lovers pizza would be too much meat, that I'd not enjoy it. However it was amazing, and I absolutely loved it! I could eat the whole thing if we weren't sharing! All the other pizzas and the bread was awesome as well. Definitely suggest anyone in the area to give this place a try!

We learned about this place after watching Chef's Table and decided to try it. The pizzas were so delicious and so was the lasagna. We had a wonderful server and we absolutely enjoyed our family night. Thank you!
