We had such a fun time axe throwing, drinking beers, and then having dinner. It's an all in one stop! There is an adorable shop between the axe throwing area and restaurant. Great service and good beer selection!

Went here fathers day weekend 2022. Decent prices and great quality food. However the General store charged me over 20$ for bracelets priced 3$. Went in for a refund the next day and instead was charged another 20$?? Manager tried helping but I highkey feel like I was purposely scammed. Beware, out of town visitors.. especially if you look alternative.

While we have never eaten at the Hungry Buffalo, we have thrown at Bury the Axe a couple of times now. There doesn't seem to be a way to rate them separately.
We stopped by Sunday and found that we were able to get in to throw due to a power or system outage as long as we didn't need to use credit. We scrounged up some cash and Nolan set us up to throw. He was a great coach!
Both of our visits have been a lot of fun, and cheaper than places we have visited in Columbus. When friends tell us they are going to Hocking Hills we always recommend Bury the Axe.

The price is decent and the servings are good size. I had the filet tips and my husband had the bison burger. I recommend the bison burger.

If you like terrible service and cold food, this is the place for you. I would NOT recommend The Hungry Buffalo to anyone! We were greeted and seated immediately. It went down hill from there. The waitress, Kaylyn, took our orders. She brought our drinks from the bar. The drinks were good. When the appetizer was set down, it was done so with an outstretched arm while having a conversation with another waitress. It was quite some time before our food came. The food was COLD. Portion sizes were good. The waitress never came back to the table to ask how our food was or refill our drinks. We slid all of our empty glasses to the edge of the table in hopes of getting refills. None our glasses were ever filled. The bus staff brought our bill. Kaylyn came to the table to get the money. When she brought my change, I extended my hand to get it. She set the change on the table, next to my outstretched hand. I requested the manager upon leaving. The manager said there was no excuse for cold food because they were not busy. (We were there in the middle of the week, between the lunch and dinner hours. There were only a handful of other customers.) She said she would talk to Kaylyn about the service. So we paid $70+ for a cold meal and no drink refills. We DID NOT throw axes as we had planned and did NOT shop in their gift shop either. I think it was the first time I have ever left a restaurant without leaving a tip. I will NEVER come back to this restaurant. I would NOT try their sister restaurant either. Very disappointing.

This establishment was pretty neat! You can pay to throw axes. There is a tremendous beverage menu. The general store was cute! The candles smelled amazing! However, pretty pricey. The hostess was friendly! We put our name in at Hungry Buffalo and was told it would be a 25min wait. So plenty of time to walk around the shop. We only waited about 20min so bonus points in my book!
Debbie K was so sweet! She was a terrific server and was on top of her game! She kept our drinks refilled and check on us the perfect amount of times. So thank you Debbie for making our dinning experience that much more enjoyable!
My husband ordered Prarie Fire Chicken. It came with Spanish rice and a side. He chose mashed potatoes. The chicken was cover in sautéed mushrooms, onion, and jalapeño peppers and then covered in queso. He enjoyed the entire plate. He's not a big fan of Spanish rice. He did eat it but made the comment he would have preferred a different side. It did not specify what kind of rice came with his meal on the menu. I had the Garlic and Herb Chicken. It came with mashed potatoes and gravy and a side. I chose a house salad with blue cheese dressing. The salad was a really good size salad. Nice crisp lettuce, fresh diced tomato, cheese, carrots and an abundance of delicious croutons. The chicken was extremely moist. The juices almost flowed from the breast with every bite. It also had just the perfect amount of seasoning. Tasting the herbs and garlic but not overpowering the pallet. The mashed potatoes and gravy were also very tasty. The mashed may have even been made fresh and the brown gravy was a perfect match.
Overall, we highly enjoyed our dinning experience. We truly thought Debbie was wonderful. And we would definitely recommend dinning here!
