Thr restaurant I ate at is called J&V Irie Jerk.
It's small, but the food is super flavorful and the portions HUGE.
I ordered three ribs and three chicken the photos say all. It was AMAZING. The staff answered all my questions regarding food allergy and potential cross-contamination issues.
The baked beans were Fantastic. I also enjoyed the cabbage side.
My co-workers and I all agreed we will definitely be returning.
The food here at J&V Irie Jerk is amazingly refreshing and on point. I love the authentic flavors and I especially love the atmosphere. The family setting is what got me hooked and the customer service is on point. Price may seem a bit high but given where I have eaten before in different States I would spend this on food here any day because the quality is what matters most for me.
I’ve been eating here almost every other day in the past 3 weeks and I can’t get enough. The food is very fresh and lots of flavor, and nice portions. and to top it off the service is great!!!! The young lady at the register her name is Jocelyn and she’s amazing…, It’s a family business and their all awesome people… they make you feel right at home.
I went here with my boyfriend during the recent monsoon and it was worth the traitorous driving conditions! The jerk chicken is absolutely superb! The jerk spice with a distinctive hint of lime and the building heat with every bite was so surprising and delightful that we have ordered takeout twice since our initial visit. Just writing about it now makes me want to go again tonight!
What a find! I’ve smelled the cooker out back and finally stopped into this place. We enjoyed absolutely everything on the platter! The ribs are the best I’ve had outside of Kansas. The chicken-oh wow-there are no words because I have not had it this good. I will order hush puppies as a side dish of it own next time! Try this place out!
I was recommended this place by the rental car representative. I decided to stop in and order the Jerk Chicken w/ rice and peas, plantains, and the cabbage (with some type of juice/gravy on top) and festivals bread. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Chicken was cooked to perfection, rice and peas were good, but the cabbage was definitely not what I was use to from a Jamaican cuisine restaurant. The cabbage was delicious, well cooked, and whatever gravy juice sauce that was on top set this meal off! I hate they're so far away. If you haven't tried them yourself, stop in and you might enjoy the good as well.
So...This place is delicious, and not for people who think that pepper is spicy. My chicken was full of flavor, juicy, and had that kick. My mac and cheese was poppin, non-stoppin. I also purchased two patties, it was my first time, and they were fantastic. The patties were flakey, hot, and full of flavor on the inside with a kick. Also, the plates come with two sauces. The darker one is sweet and spicy, the red one is more tangy and spicy.
I love this place, we must do everything to protect it!!! @.@
This was some of the best Jerk Chicken I've ever had, second to only my grandfather's version. I went on a whim for lunch today after seeing a new Jamaican food spot opened. The Jerk Chicken is smoked for a few hours and then grilled to retain all the precious juices and flavors. The platter came with fried plantain, vegetables and a cornmeal dumpling. I decided to get a Ting (grapefruit soda) as well. Be sure to get a few of their homemade sauces, I didn't have a chance to ask the names but the mango infused sauce was a personal favorite. This was great lunch. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back.
Not sure if this is under new ownership but the food was amazing! It’s been about a year since we last ate here and this was by far the best time. The staff was so warm and friendly.
Food is so delicious.
Takes me back to my Grandparents days, home cooked food.
The atmosphere is relaxing I can sit there and relax after a good meal. Love it!
