Had lunch at Hot Dog King today for the first time, and it definitely won't be the last. My girlfriend and I both got the "57 Chevy Burger" with Fries. The burger has "that taste"...real beef, with a nice charred flavor. The bun is high quality, and the burger is topped with sharp cheddar, grilled vidalia onions, and 57 Sauce. It tastes like the best "backyard burger" you've ever had. The menu is BIG...in addition to 53 different hot dogs ( ! ), there are also over 50 different toppings you can select. They also offer burgers, chicken, sandwiches and sides. There's a reason why there are so many enthusiastic reviews for this place...the food is great, competitively priced against any fast food place in town, and so much better. It is a family-owned business and they are friendly and welcoming, and they definitely know what they are doing in the kitchen. Easily one of the best restaurants in Lancaster.
What can I say other than this is a great place to get delicious food along with great service! The fried pickles are on point! The chicken n waffles were delicious! Y'all go beyond expectation for service and excellent food! Keep it up!! May the Lord continue to bless y'all!!
Service is lovely, food is great, prices are quite fair. Went on Saturday with my Husband, returned on Tuesday with my Mom. Wings are breaded, so just get the boneless. Blue Cheese is fine tasting but thin & chunkless. Steak & Cheese burger is 100% fantastic! Fries are THE best for not being fresh cut. Three hot dogs were had by my dining companions and they said all were good, Nathan's. Fried pickle treats as free taste test are very good. Christian music is upbeat and well arranged.
Best. Hotdog. Ever! The chili was hearty, and a little sweet. Baked beans? Don't even get me started!! Coleslaw was super creamy!! And the tots were perfect! The people there are super friendly, and has that eating at a friend's house feel. This will be added to my "must go here" whenever I'm in town.
Hot Dogs. My kid LOVES hot dogs. For his birthday, he wanted to try out Hot Dog King. I mean, the name says it all. When we got inside and opened the menu, our minds were blown. They have an entire menu page that is nothing but different styles to top your hot dogs, with several international styles repped, too. We each got a mix so we could try as many styles in one go. I seriously couldn’t pick a favorite, not possible. We also tried the fried pickles (OMG, so light and so delicious) and the fried grits balls (topped with shredded cheddar and sausage gravy). I’m pretty sure we rolled out like Violet Beauregard after she ate Wonka’s gum, because we were STUFFED.
Also, the owners were the chef and the staff, and they are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. They make me happy every time I go in.
Great place for Hotdogs and more. Had the Red Rose Dogs they had Plaminto cheese on them. Yum
