I thought the service was pretty good. The server mentioned he was sorry about the wait and it was understandable because the place was packed, but they still found a table for us relatively quickly and though it did take some time to get our food, they kept us happy with chips and salsa. My only complaint is that a man, other than our server, kept trying to bring us the check before we received our food. Just a little bit uncoordinated but not a big deal. We were happy with our experience.
Favorite Mexican food in town! We regularly go there with our families and have for many years. The staff is great and friendly, the atmosphere is fun and if you're interested in watching the game I'm sure the one you're looking for will be on one of the televisions. So take your time enjoy your food and your time with your family while you're here. If you're in a hurry or like us and have gotten used to eating at-home more but still love your favorites their take out is still wonderful! You can order it online or over the phone it is ready quickly and the food is great. They have some of the best salsa around and is one of our favorites to keep on hand. So no matter which dinning experience you decide upon El Tapatio is going to be a great dinner option.
Was a little bit disappointed this time. Normally it is spectacular. The chili was wonderful as usual but this time the rellano's we're below quality. It was like they were made days prior. They had a tough shell. Only on one side. I had 2 thought maybe just the one but no it was both. After we left my husband said his was the same. But in their defense, this was the first time we ever got a bad meal and we have gone many many times. 🙂
The food here was pretty good. Servings are pretty large. The menu is huge with lots of seafood and steak dishes as well as traditional Mexican food. I had a banana margarita that was just ok. But others in my party had the coin op margarita and they said it was really good. The patio was open but we chose to sit inside. The dining area was large and spacious with a good atmosphere. Wait staff were friendly and helpful. I would go here again. Not my favorite but a good Mexican restaurant.
My wife's Mexican meal was very good. I wasn't so hungry so I ordered a Ceasar salad. The dressing was either a really, really cheap Ceasar or possibly even Ranch, but it wasn't what I was looking for. Staff were pretty busy on a late evening, so I didn't make a fuss about it. Probably my fault for not ordering something Mexican.
