Iris Cafe Restaurant

Quickie lunch out on the patio. Very quaint and casual, a rather pleasant ambience. My wife and I split a turkey melt with fries. As far as the quality, price and service… exceptional! Even the secondary staff were courteous and attentive to our needs… very impressed. The only reasons I withheld a star were due to menu choices. With ordering my selection there wasn’t a combo option available such as with fries or soup and salad, those were À la cart with no soup on Sundays.

I should start by saying this is a great place for my college age daughter's and I to get wonderful comfort food. We eat at Iris at least twice a week and at different times. The waitresses are always so upbeat, engaging, and attentive. Drink orders are taken immediately and they give you time to look through the expansive menu. Every meal that we've eaten there has been flavored perfectly with perfect portion sizes. The meals are always delivered hot so we get that right off the flame taste. Lastly, the owners. Both are fantastic and attentive to the needs of their employees and customers alike. The female owner is usually the one who rings us up and always asks if our food was good AND if there was anything they could do to make it better. Reasonable prices, great food, great staff, great owners and the eating area and restrooms are always clean. If you want to feel like family, go to Iris Cafe. This place is a hidden gem!! We tried going to another popular restaurant down the street but the wait was too long for the kids. Iris Cafe had no wait, but little did we know how friendly, pleasant and delicious it would be. Our server, along with every single staff member, went out of her way to welcome us and make everything easy. I almost don’t want to recommend this place because I want it to stay my secret, but it’s too good not to share. I think this is our new favorite breakfast spot!

Unfortunately I had a not so great experience at this restaurant for breakfast. Came in near the time they opened and clearly only a few customers were in there. They have a sign stating Please Wait To Be Seated, but no one was forthcoming to do so. Asked if I could sit anywhere and they agreed. Server took my order of over easy eggs, but when I got them they were between medium and hard. There were no apologies issued. Took awhile to finish my meal and only once was my coffee refilled and I could have definitely used another cup. To be fair I’ve eaten here a few times before and had no issue other than them blasting the music at lunch. Too many other options out there, so probably won’t be back.

Honestly kind of disappointed. I've visited a handful of times now, it was REALLY great and friendly back in Early November, the last few times it hasn't been great at all, always been some problem. Overcooked/burnt once, then undercooked/red in the middle. Today she didn't even give me fries, it's $7.00 for a hamburger & water. I always tip $5.00 no matter the price because I know how hard-working the staff is at restaurants. Today I tipped $2.00 and almost only did $1.00. I felt very ignored, and as if I really wasn't needed to be there. There were maybe 3 other tables at the time. She did fill my water up, so I wasn't totally ignored BUT... I'm a simple and picky eater. I ask for a medium/well Hamburger with only ketchup & mustard then a side of Fries, and a glass of water every time. They didn't give me fries, and the ketchup & mustard was in a smiley face on the bun, for like kids (probably the cooks fault on that one?) When she was telling the back my order I'm 99% sure she mentioned "yeah this one is weird". I honestly felt ignored the whole 10+ minutes I was there, I'd give this a 1-star if she hadn't filled my water up. I'm really disappointed, and I probably won't stop by anymore which is sad because I work really close.

Good food and great service! We called ahead with a slightly large group of 7 and they seemed to appreciate this advance notice a lot and had a spot ready for us to go. It felt like they constantly checked on our table and got us coffee refills the second they wanted them. Delicious biscuits and gravy!!
