Tried Ruth’s Chris in Lahaina for our anniversary this last weekend, and it was well worth the drive to the west side (we live closer to Wailea but are not impressed with the restaurant there).
Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated immediately. At first we were seated in a booth near the bar. However, it was a bit loud with the TVs on and blenders going; so, upon request, they moved us to a booth on the upper level in the back. It was perfect for enjoying a quiet dinner and actually being able to talk with my husband (and we still had a partial ocean view). They also immediately brought out a complimentary glass of champagne for us in celebration of our night, which was such a pleasant surprise.
Our waiter was nice and professional. I personally prefer a bit less “formality”, but that’s just me. He did a great job. The assistants were great about keeping water filled and plates cleared. The manager was also out on the floor, and stopped by to check on us and see if everything was okay. The flow of things is a bit slower than I would like, but then that is to be expected with more formal dining. So, if you’re in a hurry, this isn’t the type of restaurant to “grab a bite”.
Our food was delicious. We ordered from the Prime Time menu (between 5-6 pm), and both had the 8 oz filet. Although they incorrectly plated our steaks (gave me the rare one and my husband the med rare one), once we figured it out and swapped, it was perfect. Definitely one of the best steaks I’ve had on Maui. We ordered the mashed potatoes and creamed spinach as sides, which were both delicious; and for dessert we ordered the white chocolate bread pudding. Everything was amazing.
They also have great gluten free options for those who need to avoid gluten, like the Crab Stack (which we started with).
We will definitely be back for date night, and would recommend this steak house to others. (Wailea is a different story).
Excellent filet for me. Excellent mahi-mahi for my husband. The sides were delicious also. Aaron, our waiter, was superb! We were celebrating our anniversary and he showed us special attention, with extra treats! Love Ruth's Chris in Maui!
Awesome everything normally... Had the crab cakes the other night and they were very fishy.... No good.

Typically great service and the standard Ruth's Chris menu in a gorgeous location. Not a place for kids. We enjoyed a family meal there to celebrate my parents' wedding and I was impressed they let us bring in a cake.
Ruth Chris in Lahaina was amazing. The food was great, service friendly and fast, and the desert was fabulous. The creme brûlée with caramelized bananas was to die for.
Excellent food and service. Early bird special 5-7pm for 3 course meal $39 is a great deal. Be sure to ASK for it!
Ruth’s Chris steaks are properly aged, grilled, and a dab of butter is added for the most delectable flavor. They come to the table still cooking and sizzling on the plate. Is it just the beef in mouthwatering cuts like Cowboy Ribeye, Filet and New York that we love here? Maybe, but the best steak is made better with a chopped salad, creamed spinach and a bit of grilled shrimp.
First time at this Ruth Chris Steak House in Maui! It was the best Ribeye steak I’ve ever had! It was seasoned and cooked the way just how I wanted it. The shrimp was like icing on top. The staff were friendly and the service was phenomenal! And the ambiance nice and ocean view was an added bonus!
This place had AMAZING service! Our waiters were very helpful and seemed to love their jobs. The ocean views adds a special vibe to the whole restaurant. The filet was perfectly cooked medium rare! Thank you so much for the great meal and a great night! Must go!!!!
Great ambience for a dine dining restaurant! The service was top notch. The Caesar salad had more hearts than greens , had a lot of pepper! The steak was flavourful and brought a great taste to the pallette. The stuffed chicken was delicious and rich in flavor. Mashed garlic potatoes was one of the most delicious mashed potatoes I've ever tasted. The dessert was one of my favorites, creme brulee with fresh berries! Definitely worth spending!
My husband and I have always wanted to try this place! Fantastic customer service especially our waiter who catered to us as if we were the only customers there. The food was 5 star and the drinks were excellent! Highly recommend.
Holy cow... Literally. The most delicious (albiet expensive) steak you'll eat in your life. The service is good and professional. The plates are served hot. The side dishes are built for more than one person. Your wallet will be lighter when you leave... But your stomach will be oh so happy.
The very best cuts of steak on the islands. There is no other place where you can eat a whole 40oz and feel lighter after you've finished it. The plates are hot and the seasoning is prime. I recommend eating here last during your stay or everywhere else will just be disappointing.
It's so good and so romantic place to dinner , service is so excellent!
At first glance you are enveloped in an ambiance of candle lit decadence. As your eyes adjust to your surroundings, your senses begin become heightened by the aromas floating aimlessly from the kitchen. The service is impeccable and inviting as you order from this luscious menu. Then the food arrives, presented in royal fashion. Your taste buds are dancing in anticipation as you take your first bite. Heavenly food passes your palette as bite after bite of this succulent food disappears. I haven't enjoyed a meal if this magnitude in decades. I am saited, beyond words. My compliments to the chef and the entire staff (Daniel & Jose') for making me so utterly fulfilled. Looking forward to my next visit with baited breath.
This was my first visit to a Ruth's Chris steakhouse, and it wouldn't be my last. I fell in love with the food from the first bite. Service was awesome and being a tourist at Hawaii for the first time if seemed they excused my extremely casual beach outfit, as they generally have a dress code that requires business casual or better.
Maybe, because it's Hawaii they were more lax than at the mainland state locations, but either way they didn't say anything. Had a blast while visiting Maui and this stop was definitely one of the highlights. Such great steaks, certainly one of a kind!
Ruth's Chris is always a good choice, I've been to probably a half dozen locations and they always deliver great food and atmosphere. Steak and Lobster were amazing. Some of our other choices let us down so we ended up eating here 2 nights in a row. Great staff, great food and great location. just be prepared for a pricey experience that is well worth it.
