Love this place and they staff is so friendly
Pleasantly surprising
I was looking for a breakfast burrito after 11am on a Saturday. I had no idea the challenge I had signed up for. I didn't know this place existed and after standing in a 20 minute line up the street at Santiagos, I was not a happy customer. I was surprised to find a good sized parking lot in Old Town Lafayette. I was able to park right out front. When I walked in I was greeted by a very friendly employee. This is a sit down restaurant with tons of seating and no bar or counter up front. I asked if I could place a To-Go order and he said he'd have a waiter with me shortly. There are 2 small benches near the front door that could sit 3 people should anyone need to wait. I sat and looked over the menu. I was surprised that such a fun little breakfast spot existed near me that I hadn't heard of. I will include menu photos. But there is a wide array of breakfast choices. They close at 2pm so the breakfast menu is extensive and without a cutoff.
I ordered 3 breakfast burritos. It took 20 minutes from the time I entered the restaurant to the time I got back to my car with my food in hand. At first I thought this was a long wait for some breakfast burritos. But when I got home and opened the boxes, I was shocked. These burritos are enormous. They did not fit on my dinner plates at home. Big. One burrito could likely feed 2 people. I only finished half. My Son and husband somehow managed one each. These burritos are ah-mazing. Every ingredient had been given special attention and would have been delicious alone. And everything was temperature hot and fresh. The flour tortilla might be the best tortilla I've had. The thick chunks of potatoes carried their own flavorful touch and were perfectly cooked. There was the perfect amount of freshly cooked meat inside. The scrambled eggs came in fluffy, big chunks. These come smothered. I didn't see any options to alter the burrito and now I see why. It was the perfect marriage of breakfast burrito ingredients. Despite the lack of heat options, all 3 of us were happy. It has a bit of a spicy kick so my husband who says he had green chili in his bottle as a baby was happy. I'm a heat weenie and I still enjoyed it despite the little kick. And the most important thing that I rank on any burrito is distribution because nobody wants to eat their burritos one ingredient per bite. These are beautifully mixed to ensure each bite has a little of everything. I know, I'm gushing. It's a breakfast burrito worth bragging about.
First impressions were "Wow" and "are they open tomorrow?". Looks like we'll be back ... and often.
Very good food great service and excellent prices
First time dining here. Decided to try out breakfast and I was not disappointed. They have a great selection but the cook is needing to brush up on skills. Especially with potatoes and fried eggs. The gravy is pretty good. I'll be back to see if things get better with lunch.
One of my favorite breakfast spots and a true hidden gem in Lafayette. We go a few times a week food is great and service is on point as well
It's a great place to eat breakfast either Mexican or American style. Natalie, our waitress is very customer oriented.
Absolutely love this restaurant. My dad and I go out of our way to eat here and it never disappoints. The huevos rancheros is my absolute favorite. Candace is the best!!
