Probably the best burger in town. I'd like to try a plate lunch next time but it'll be hard to pass up on the burger it was so good.

Best Breakfast Sandwich/ Breakfast Burger/ Homestyle Plate Lunch around!!! The service is friendly the kitchen is clean and food is amazing and priced right. I love this place. I'm not only a customer I own it!! Ha Ha. Love serving the great people of Freetown and Acadiana.
Delicious food for a great price! Walked in, ordered a plate lunch, and was out the door in less than 5 minutes. At noon. On a weekday. Great place to get a hot plate of home cooking on a cold day.

Seafood. Shrimp stew taste like my own (when I have time to make it). Fettuccine taste like my aunts, also delicious! I haven't been here in years and recently moved back to the area and remembered this place. BIG big thumbs up all the way around!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am happy to eat a home cooked meal!! Thank you Gary's!

Chicken Stew to die for. Tuesday Lunch at Gary's will make you happy.
The chicken stew is well seasoned, the chicken is falling off the bone. The portions are huge, so 2 people could probably share one plate lunch. But I don't like to share my chicken stew from Gary's.
Loves me some Gary's. Best chili dog in town - great breakfast sandwiches and friendly consistent service. HIGHLY recommend it.

Partner. After eating here for years, I finally decided to take stock in the business. What I mean is that I am the third generation business partner and grandson to the original man who started the business, JD Gary.
Just recently I have gotten involved with the business because an idea my little sister presented me with and the fact that my uncle Wayne is ready to retire after all these years of providing awesome products to his customers.
Long story but I have to say, all of our products (lunches, hamburgers, baking goods, etc.) are made from scratch daily and are made from my grandmothers receipes or at least the way she used to do it (somethings were just added and not written).
Great customers and see them usually in the morning for breakfast and again for lunch! When we see them walk in the door, we start preparing their dish and when they get to to window, we just hand it to them before they tell us what they want.
Enough of all this but enjoying the work and appreciate the the busniess!! Come by and eat with us or just come by to drink a cup of coffee and get a fishing report from my uncle!
Ma Sha... Dat's Good Eating!. If you like friendly service and a good home style cooked meal for lunch Gary's is the place to get it. Family owned and operated that gives you the feeling like they have known you all your life... come on in grab a plate, pay your bill and sit down and eat. They will come by to chat.. ask aobut your family, etc...if you give them time.
And the food... fabulous, don't tell my mom... but nearly as good as hers.
Great plate lunches weekly and hamburgers. This is an 80 year old establishment that was originally a neighborhood grocery store turned restaurant. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. If you want to experience a typical Lafayette plate lunch place you should visit for breakfast or lunch

Gary's continues to be the best plate lunch, breakfast, and burger option in the area. You won't find more flavor or quality anywhere else. I lived across the street for a few years, and have had pretty much everything on the menu. Nothing but great options no matter what you choose. This free town neighborhood gem is never to be slept on!
It was so wonderful, oh my god. We each consumed our entire meal. They provide a great assortment of drinks, chips, and even freshly baked cookies!
My boyfriend took me here for the first time, he got the shrimp stew and I tried one of the loaded burgers. Oh My God it was sooo good. Both finished all our food. The have a wide selection of beverages and chips and even have delicious homemade cookies! Definitely Gonna stop by once a week. They have different plate lunches through the week.
I must say, this is one of the best burger joints I've eaten at in a long time. The service was exceptional, and the food was mouthwatering and so fresh!!! Oh, and let me tell you, the food came out so fast it was unbelievable. I had to do a double take!!! Great job, you guys!!!! 10/10
So lucky to do my research and find this place!! Us Texans come to Laffy once a month to eat. I had shrimp stew, and better half had fettuccine..... We have a permanent plate lunch location from now on!!! Thank you to the fabulous folks at Gary's!!!
Friendly service, delicious food, and quick. Their plate lunches always looked so good, I finally was able to make a stop to try it out, and it did not disappoint. Definitely coming back to try their other plate lunches.

Can’t believe I’ve gone 23 years in Lafayette without having tried Gary’s until today. Generous servings, tasty south Louisiana cuisine, unbeatable prices, and an exceptionally friendly staff. God bless those guys
