Love this place. Pure and simple. Good food, pretty fast. The people are nice. No complaints, we go here for work-lunches.

The chicken quesadilla is amazing. We go there maybe once a week and always order the exact same thing. So tasty it never gets old. Service is also great with prompt refills.

Pleasant atmosphere, service was not slow. Food was served hot. My wife and felt the servings were of pleasant size and taste. We were checked on several times to see if we needed anything. The establishment seemed to be rather busy yet good service.

Service and atmosphere was great, Ordered fajitas for two, and there was more onions and peppers. Then there was meat that was very disappointing. Salsa tasted like vinegar. I don't know who made the change to this restaurant But it was not good.

I love this place and come pretty often with my kids. The staff members are always very friendly and welcoming, and the food has never disappointed.

El Portrillo is traditional Mexican food with a traditional atmosphere. They don't make an attempt to be trendy, and I like that. Their prices are low and easy to bring family and friends out to eat. I like that too! A longstanding Northside go-to for Mexican food.

Best chimichangas around. The Taco salad was enormous. Everything was delicious 😋

This is the best Mexican food I have ever had. I know that’s a bold statement, but I stand by it. I first ate here randomly six years ago when I was visiting Lafayette. I got the fajitas then, and my mind was blown. For the past six year, I’ve been thinking about this place at least once a month. When I was passing through this week, I made a point to stop for lunch. I got the Texana fajitas (shrimp, chicken, beef, and chorizo), a tamale (beef), and some sopaipillas to go. I also got a beer and chips/salsa. After this meal, the conclusion was solidified: best Mexican food I’ve ever had.
