Despite the wait time, the experience was absolutely worth it! As a sushi enthusiast, I'm always eager to explore new flavors. We tried the Aloha roll, topped with macadamias, and it was incredibly delicious. The Dank roll lived up to its name with every flavorful bite. Although the beef gyoza left a bit to be desired, the sushi, particularly the Crispy Rice roll, stole the show with its delightful textures and flavors.

We came across the street from a Holiday party at the Athenaeum and had a craving for nice Japanese food. Ultimate Hamachi and Crispy Rice rolls were our choices and they were both absolutely yummy, Super fresh and tasty. We will come back for more!

Some of the best sushi on the west coast! Everything was extremely fresh and delicious! The service was great with all the workers being extremely kind. Sushi Nekosan is located in downtown La Jolla, so it’s a great spot to do some shopping before or after the meal. I’ll definitely be returning next time I’m in La Jolla.

Stopped in here on a whim, was walking around the stores in La Jolla, and I am so glad I did! The service was wonderful, I sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the rolls being prepared. I ordered the edamame and the ex lovers roll- to die for! Highly recommend!

We waited a long time for our food but the service was great and the food was amazing. The place is very small inside so if it's raining or cold I wouldn't recommend it. Any other day, the quality of the sushi is superb!

Located right in the heart of La Jolla Village…Nekosan has to be my favorite sushi spot in the area. Great, friendly service, amazing food and their house hot Saki is delicious and flowing. Small place but with the addition of their outside seating, should have room for you and yours without a reservation. We usually go during the week, so cannot speak for weekends and or holidays. But if visiting San Diego and La Jolla, this place will not disappoint. Located right across from the La Jolla post office.

I had the spicy tuna and the dirty blonde. The spicy tuner was not that great, great, no spice and very little flavor otherwise. However, it was definitely very fresh. The dirty blonde on the other hand, was one of the best roles I've ever had in my life.. Service was good good. Based on talking with a couple of other people that have been there several times, I would definitely recommend going but I would focus focus on their specialty rolls. You will Be pleased I am sure.

Besides the wait time totally worth it! Sushi is my favorite food and I’m always willing to try new things. We had an aloha roll that came topped with macadamias and it was so delicious. Also had a dank roll and the name hits home once you have your first bite. We also had the beef gyoza which wasn’t too impressive. But the sushi is amazing. We also have a crispy rice roll and if you love crispy rice you will be in love with the roll. Loved the texture and flavors of everything.
