This was a beautiful setting, atmosphere and venue. The dancing was absolutely beautiful and as far as a lui"au goes the food was pretty good and kid friendly. We wanted to go to see beautiful, authentic dancing and that is what we got. I loved the fact that they didn't allow the audience to take pictures to preserve the cultural significance and identity of the show.
Aloha, went to the luau at Holua Resort as it was recommended as the best on the island for the dance, food and views. It's was a spectacular evening!
The drive north through the lava fields made you appreciate and honor the island's geological history and its effects on the lives it has touched.
The glowing red sunset, hitting the water as the ocean waves crested over the rocks made for heavenly pictures. I met a lady who stood under the same tree 45 years ago, heard her story and took her picture.
The buffet was amazing including the poi. Enjoyed watching the covering of the bbq pit and the variety of island food was fantastic. There was nothing I didn't like. It took me back to when I was a teenager living here.
There is nothing I could say that could be articulate well enough the dancers, pmusicians, and our lovely lhostess that brought the experience all together singing not only traditional Hawaiian songs but also newer American/English songs many of us grew up hearing. They honored the island, their heritage, and became one with the earth, sea, land and sky with such ease. It truly was a gift that they shared with us. As I looked around the audience, I could see those who realized that as well by the smiles, relaxing postures, and first time hula dancers.
If you are on the big island, plan a evening here. It will be a memory you will cherish.
Mahalo!
My family and extended family attended this luau, and we had a wonderful experience. The setting was gorgeous, and since the luau was smaller than most, it seemed more intimate. Luau food is luau food. It’s a buffet at the end of the day. Everything was cooked well and was tasty though.
The staff is amazing here. Separately they get 5 stars from the valet, the front desk, the host and wait staff to the performers! The only reason that I wouldn't rate this as 5 stars overall is because it is more of a stage show. I expected more for the price and due to covid you don't see the roasted pig in a food setup your food is plated and brought to you. It's plenty of food though. The views are amazing as well!
This was a real experience. The buffet was awesome, and the atmosphere and location (it's a resort)is absolutely beautiful. Right on the beach. The entertainment was the highlight. They told the story of their culture through dance and song while explaining it to us. It was an awesome experience not to be missed. We had general seats, and the only difference was that premium seats got chips and dip. Mahalo to our server, Reese. She was great .
The show was wonderful with a distinct Mauna Kea flair. The food was just ok however. My family and I had a good time, and the performers and wait staff were great!
Unforgettable experience of the sunset at the seaside with excellent Hawaiian traditional food, drinks, and a show that explains the Hawaiian legends and dances to the astonished audience.
Amazing, amazing show... the food was great. The view was as well. We loved everything about this experience. Aloha
Beautiful location, sunset was most incredible I have ever seen. Food was surprisingly good, didn't expect much, but it was really good and lots of selection. Performance by fire dancer was amazing as well as hula dancing. The show went on a little longer than needed in my opinion, but others in our group disagreed. Highly recommend for atmosphere, food and entertainment.
This is a nice meal & show. Beautiful, romantic venue. Mainly for tourists...very few locals that I know have been. Probably due to price. Coffee & dessert 👍 Overcooked pork, some food comes from Costco 👎 Performers were good and quite fun. 👍 They try really hard at accommodating.
