Smoky Mountain Deli

Don't think I will be going back. First time at the new location it took over 10 minutes to get 2 hot dogs. If you are gonna be famous for hot dogs you can't keep people standing around wait for something as simple as a hot dog. So I decided to give it another chance. This time at 12 o'clock. Just to see how they had stepped up their game since it had been 3 or 4 weeks since the last visit. Sad to report that I never made it out of the truck. I pulled into a relatively empty parking lot so I thought that service would be very quick today. Seems that the employees took an empty parking lot as a sign to have a smoke break... at the front door. I don't care to have to share their habits in order to see IF they got their game together. It is obvious before you even get to the front door that this place is as good as it is ever going to get.

Don't eat the hot dogs. They have forgotten them in the fryer overnight and fed them to customers the next day. They leave the cheese out all day long til it gets rubbery and when they do refrigerate it they don't cover it so it gets hard and crusty. Grill doesn't get cleaned for months at a time. Claim they have homemade coleslaw and other things but it is not. Overcharge customers for what they get. Run out of items and don't keep them stocked. Have even ran out of hand soap for the kitchen. Place is filthy and not maintained.

We never even made it to the door, an overweight, very nasty looking woman smoking right in front of the door shook her head at us. It was very unprofessional, telling us they were closed for cleaning. Do you guys only clean once a week, because it still looked disgusting. We won’t be returning or giving our business to a place that seems run by disgusting people, if you’re going to represent a place like that you shouldn’t look dirty. Makes me wonder how nasty the people who prepare the food are, a hotdog isn’t worth getting food poisoning over. Your staff needs some training in decency, not only that but your company looks bad when you allow “workers” I use that term loosely, to smoke right in front of the main entrance. Nobody wants to walk through or smell cigarette smoke, I’m not a smoker and I’m not gonna start now.

Currently "IDK crabshack" run by three lovely ladies. Food wasn't bad at all, though the buttermilk waffles were tasteless husband loved the shrimp boil. I am pretty sure they smoke in the building when no one is there. It smelled so much like day-old cigarette smoke that I could taste it. We took our food out.

I drove from Oak Ridge Tenn with my wife, son and grandchildren to enjoy the " Famous hot dogs today " Only to find the business closed. Yet Saturday night listing said " Open 12 noon Sunday. Ended up eating at Ruby Tuesday on Chapman highway. It's going to be difficult for me to come back. Then I checked the Web tonight to see that the time of opening has been changed. This is not a good way to build your customer base. The picture on the website is not the correct picture either. This killed my appetite 🚫🚫🚫.
