The catfish is good at this place just north of the bridge from Texas. And a lot of people are driving past that catfish place on the Texas side to come here. The fries are okay. The prices lean high. The fillets are cut in half and one orders and is charged by the number of pieces. So a 9 piece dinner is 4.5 filets. Also on the menu are whole fish. Service is very good. Decor is funny - nautical theme (what else in a place serving those fresh from the sea catfish) and you will see at least five or six ol' boys who look like they were in the Easy Rider cafe scene (I'm still not sure if I'll make the parish line).
I love the catfish and tarter sauce. I don't like tarter sauce from anywhere else.
Great food / Atmosphere. We drive over an hour from Texas to eat here nearly every weekend. It's family owned and operated. The food is great. They have the best catfish around. If you don't like catfish, they have the best chicken fried steak and chicken tenders too. It's worth the drive.
Catfish platter. Really? not worth the drive? im guessing your tastebuds r a bit off. that is the best catfish i have ever had. the hushpuppies are to die for and the beans, coleslaw and that tarter sauce! mercy its great! it is worth the drive even if the drive is 2 hrs. long. really i promise it is wonderful! right down to the sweet tea. you dont get small pieces of fish- you get big ole meaty planks- if you have never tried- please do yourself a favor and go! you will love it!
Catfish Platter Review.... Excellent place to eat - even if you have to drive for awhile - it's worth it - they are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday and close in December. Fantastic catfish, really great hushpuppies - they serve in a bowl while you wait for your order...mmm...getting hungry thinking about it!! This a great place to take the whole family - good ole' southern hospitality and great family atmosphere.
Best Hushpuppies ever. Growing up in East Texas I thought I knew good hushpuppies but this place had the best hushpuppies I've ever tasted and the catfish was some of the best I've had as well. Didn't have that fishy taste you tend to get from catfish, very high quality fish. Staff was very efficient and friendly. Will definately make the drive from Frisco again, well worth a try.
Best Catfish on the planet. When I lived in Dallas, I had a place on Soldier Creek and spent many great weekends in the area. The Platter was always a must for friends and family. I miss being able to eat there regularly. We have a trip planned to the Dallas area in May and the Platter is on our list of things to do. I can't wait!!!
Been there a gazillion times. Are you kidding me?!? You don't think it's worth the drive from Kingston to Willis? I was raised in Kingston, and I must say, Catfish Platter was the place to go for my family on a Friday or Saturday night. Since moving away from Marshall County, I have yet to find a catfish resturaunt that can even touch "The Platter", and NOWHERE ELSE will you find Southern hospitality like that of the Bridgeman family. They are one of a kind! I still come home to visit and beg my parents to go eat there with me! It is hands down the best catfish resturaunt out there and everything is homemade!!! It can't get any better than that folks! Best hushpuppies in the world!
First time there will go back. Food was good with the only exception is the dessert. They cook it in the same oil as the catfish. I could taste the fish taste on the dessert. Otherwise food was good

Yum! A bit off the beaten path but well worth the drive! The restaurant might be named Catfish Platter and their catfish is fried to absolute perfection with the perfect blend of spices but you can't go wrong with their Chicken Fried Steak or other menu offerings either - always consistent. Trust me, I've tried them all. The staff is attentive, friendly and professional and the atmosphere is warm, sweet and welcoming.
Catfish Platter is owned by a local family whose roots run deep in the area.The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Their food is consistently excellent quality and reasonably priced. It's is American raised catfish, best available anywhere !
It's the BEST!! Everything they have is SO good.. I've been eating at the Catfish Platter for years, and it's my favorite catfish! The tarter sauce is homemade, and it's amazing! It is unlike any I've ever had before. The hushpuppies are perfect everytime! The owners are great people, and everyone who works there is friendly...just good folks! I highly recommend it!!
