Sesame Ahi tuna poke was awesome! The fish tacos were phenomenal!
It's a very casual place with outdoor seating. The staff was fine. This was our second time eating here. Will definitely go back next time we come to Kauai!
By far the best food we have had on the island! Definitely a must!
We had the ahi plate & the blue marlin plate...best meals on the island! We have been here several times and have never been disappointed. Very casual atmosphere, so if you are looking for something fancy, this is not the place for you! Love the Kilauea Fish Market!
If you are running up hwy 56 in Wailua, you have to stop in.
My wife had the Ahi wrap and loved every bite. That's high praise!
I had a loaded grilled chicken burrito.
Excellent!!! The sauce in both was great.
Counter service, nice tables outside, really busy with take-away. Had the fish wrap and the Ono plate -YUM! loved that had a choice of white and brown rice. Yummy Japanese style sesame dressing on salad, option to have sambal on the side. Amazing!
My husband HATES seafood, but he finished off my fish wrap! I was very proud of him and this shows the yumminess of this food! Yes, it's a bit pricey, but the portions are huge!
I had the Ono Burrito... Absolutely the best fish burrito I have eaten. Yum yum yum:-).
Here fishie fishie fishie fishie...... 95% of the time Kilauea Fish Market hits it out of the ball park. The other 5% I attribute to off days, which is to be expected if you eat here as often as I have. I love love love their daily specials, soups, fish tacos, korean pork plate and the casualness and simplicity of it all. They are adventurous, paper plates, shoyu packages, wooden chopsticks, outside seating, consistent, very busy, friendly and cater to both visitors and locals alike. The young staff adds to their simple unpretentious charm and the owner lady simply kicks proverbial ass! Their prices are consistent with product and their menu reflects local tastes, so yeah, I am a front seat, four tiered fan!
Awesome!! We were on the cruise, so we had a day & 1/2 on Kauai. We always look for the local good food spots & urbanspoon has NOT failed us!! My husband had the Ahi Tuna wrap & I had the Ono fish tacos...we were seriously sad (but full!) when we finished! We grabbed a Stella at the conv store at the corner & sat outside for one of the BEST meals we had out of almost 2 weeks in HI. Young gal inside was super nice & offered glasses for our beer. Go here. Seriously. I wish I was there right now - I'm a big fish taco fan & hands down the best fish tacos I've ever had. We only did the Ahi wrap because of the reviews & wow!!! If you like getting off the beaten path & have GREAT local food, this is it. Period.
Don't miss this place!. Great menu and the food was as advertised. Our group had 4 people-2 mexi tofu bowls, one ahi wrap, one seared poke salad. All of the tiems were excellent and ample in portion. everything was prepared to order and was fresh, well seasoned, well presented and tasted great!!
Get out of your hotel and eat here! The Westin and St Regis have nothing on this place.
**HOWEVER** if you are looking for fancy, expensive and pretentious food stay away.
This is a local place that serves fantastic food at a fair price
I've stayed in Kauai for 14 days. I've eaten at this fish market and had the ahi wrap 10 times. It's that good. Service is not too friendly, but most places here in Kauai that have great food also have unfriendly service.
Great lunch place. One day we had the seared(very fresh) Ahi Tuna sundried tomato wrap which was great and a couple days later we had Ono fish tacos with the cilantro sauce which was pretty good as well. It is all fresh made from scratch.
We stopped here for lunch after visiting the Kilauea Lighthouse. Both of us ordered the famous ahi wrap and sat at one of the shade-covered tables just outside the restaurant.
Note that the interior is quite small and there's no seating in there. There is ample outdoor seating just outside, however, and this worked just fine for us! You could also take your food for a picnic at the beach nearby but we were too hungry to wait :)
The ahi wrap is one of the most popular items on the menu and for good reason. We both absolutely loved it! It had a great combination of textures and flavors. It was hearty and satisfying but not heavy either. I can honestly say it is one of my favorite sandwiches I've ever had and one that I will definitely need to return to get again on a future trip to Kauai.
The other items on the menu look good too! They have tacos and burritos and plates as well as fresh poke. Even if you try something different from the FABULOUS ahi wrap, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Love this little place. Fresh fish, no fuss, good value and very good food. Apakapaka fish plate special was excellent, though the kim chi cucumbers were too salty and the sesame ahi poke is overpriced at $38 a lb.

We have been here for 9 days eating all over the Island, this was our last meal before heading back home tomorrow morning. We were at Anini Beach enjoying the water and needed to find a place to eat before going back to our Condo in Kapaa. Found Kilauea Fish Market in Google the pictures drew us here. Absolutely hands down, the best tasting meal we have had on the island. The Ahi Fish Plate was seasoned to perfection. I did it with green and Mac salad! 2 different types of sauce were included which is more than I got at many other restaurants around. I like my sauces! My 19 yr old son had the white fish plate and he said it was better than what he had at Sam's Ocean View Restaurant. My daughter had the Chicken plate and said it was juicy and delicious. Don't skip out on the Poke Nachos! Crispy, saucy tuna loaded pile of wontons, the best thing to complement the other dishes. Can't wait to come back next time we are in town. The wait at 6pm was about 45 minutes which gave us the perfect amount of town to browse the market in the same parking lot. Reminded me of a New Seasons back home. Worth the wait. Tables are outside. Enjoy!
it was a really underrated place that we found incidentally in Kilauea. We came to try some fish, tacos or burritos, and I found the tacos were pretty much the same size of burritos. You get two and the price and they’re generously filled with lots of toppings, and a good amount of fish. We also got the veggie burrito which was basically just a regular burrito with no meat in it (they called it a bean burrito basically). The flavors were so good and the sauces they used were amazing. They had some side condiments and furikake as well to add on top. They also sell their food by the pound if you’re just looking for that and have a couple different kinds of fresh poke as well as sides such as seaweed salad and potato Mac. There are some tables that are under covering outside to eat at and a wonderful market and shops around that you can wander in to. They give you a buzzer that signals when your food will be ready and they told us 15-20 min but it took under 10 minutes for us to get our food. I loved these tacos so much I could definitely recommend and come back! Two tacos were enough to fill me up
Food was good. Be aware they have limited seating.
Was in the area and hungry. Looked at the menu online and came here for a quick pickup.
Ordered the Grilled Fish Plate, Vegetarian Special plate and the Keiki BBQ Chicken.
The fish was grilled to perfection and the wasabi complemented the taste really well.
My daughter also liked the BBQ Chicken.
The place is a bit small and has a few tables outside to sit.
Service was friendly.
Amazing selection of fish plates, I recommend the fish tacos. The poke nachos were also great. Friendly staff and open later than most other places!
This Fish Market is great. You can eat in, or you can order from the case and take it to go. We took ours to go. We ordered Ahi Poke because we were starving and then brought fish home to cook for dinner. They had everything we needed, like soy sauce and chopsticks. Parking was easy, and it was so cute and easy to order from. We were in and out fast. We also got rice. They have other items to make with your fish like macaroni salad. It was so good!!!
The best garlic shrimp I’ve ever eaten!! The small market is right in the middle of Kilaeua town, surrounded by a coffee shop and other marketplaces to explore and shop.
Had a difficult time finding a place so sit, the sitting area was extremely small and it was quite busy.
A great place to stop in for a quick bite to eat then head on your way to explore.
Had the spicy ahi poke wrap. Was amazing. Good portion size. Not a lot of table in the shade but a couple was nice enough to let us sit with them. Would 100% come back to try more food!
