After another long beach day, we decided to try out another revered food truck nearby – Kinaole Grill Food Truck. Kinaole Grill Food Truck is always located at the same spot (here). They’re not really a cheap option as each platter will run you $14.50USD. However the portions of the platters are decent and the food is very tasty.
On our drive back from Lahaina we were looking for a quick bite to eat. Checked out trip advisor and found this gem!
We ordered the coconut shrimp, pulled pork and mahi mahi - best meal we have had since we arrived a few weeks ago! Everything was very tasty and fresh. The salad with macnut and feta cheese was refreshing. The portions were very generous as well.
The service was friendly and quick.... an added bonus!
We stopped in Kihei and found this food truck, it's awesome!! The food tastes fresh and is great quality! I had the spicy shrimp and it was great!! A couple days before we tried Geste food truck and this one is so much better!! Friendlier service, better quality and better food! It was great!
In the middle of Kihei is this food truck serving fresh seafood. It's somewhat hidden on a side street, but find it and you have an opportunity to get a fantastic meal to take to the beach.
I was told to get the Coconut Shrimp. It was top of the menu and the chef seemed to be really proud of it. He should be. It was a satisfying meal with a nice crunchy batter that was infused with coconut on top of the plump shrimp. While the shrimp was good, the side salad with almond dressing was just as good. The almond dressing mixed with the coconut was so refreshing.
We also tried the Grilled Ahi with Wasabi. Fresh tuna - yeah it's good. Hard to screw up. What stood out was the wasabi sauce. Great condiment to the tuna. It provided a nice kick to give the dish a refreshing feel.
For a plate of seafood, you're looking at around $15. So you can always get cheaper meals elsewhere. I didn't mind the price. I liked the food, but the chef and owner of the truck was a really nice guy. He and his assistant chatted up the people in line in a friendly and genuine way, offering suggestions on how to make their dishes even better with additional ingredients. If I'm at the beach and hungry, I'd take a short walk to this truck to support them.
Loved the food. Calamari, ahi tuna were very good. The rice and salad were an excellent accompaniment. Atmosphere is whatever you make of it. We went to the beach. No seating area by the truck.
Overall my favorite meal from my trip to Maui. Closed on Saturdays so keep that in mind, we showed up and they weren't there. The coconut shrimp was the star of the show. An absolute 10/10.
Ahi bombs were also super delicious, the sauce it came with was excellent. Overall I give this place a straight 10/10, amazing dining experience.
The coconut shrimps are really nice, same as Ahi Bombs. However, the salad sauce is a little bit too heavy for me. Overall, it's really great.
We went in July and I’m playing catch up on my reviews! The service was great and made fresh on the spot! The truck was steady with eager visitors excited to get their food! We talked to a super nice lady who was ahead of us raving about her favourites! It was nice to have a bit of a twist with salad and brown rice to go with our Katsu chicken! The portion was huge! We went across the street to KAM I beach and ate at the picnic tables with a beer from ABC! Highly recommend! The Katsu was really good and generous portion makes the price good! It is fantastic to support the community food trucks!
Amazing food with pretty big portion! They must use good fresh oil for frying! Worth trying if you are in the neighborhood. I loved the coconut shrimp best.
The coconut shrimp plates were amazing and fried to perfection. Highly recommend!
Was searching before we traveled here today (Its our first time in Maui) and already saw this on Google Maps, and it was highly recommended by our lyft driver Jacqueline. We had Ahi Bombs with Mayo/wasabi sauce, their best seller calamari and Grilled Mahi-Mahi with Mango salsa (all dishes comes with salad and Rice). Two thumbs up👍🏼👍🏼
Must stop food truck in Maui. Great seafood with fresh ingredients. When I saw their magnet in my travel documents, I felt bad that I missed to comment here earlier. Everything we had was very delicious.
Fantastic coconut shrimp and garlic shrimp plates. Be aware that they sometimes open late, we came by at noon twice and they weren’t there yet - so it may help to check back later in the day (they opened at 1:30pm on the Monday we came by).
I had the Ahi Bombs and they were drop-dead amazing. The salad was so flavorful and the rice was perfectly moist and savory. I come to this part of Maui frequently for work and I can’t believe this is my first time here. I will be back to sample everything in their menu.
