Legit Philly cheesesteaks cool staff when you go in tell them Trey sent you, pizza is good plus also try the cheese fries you won’t be disappointed
As we crossed the intersection of Duval and Southard at around 9pm, there was an alluring scent coming from Southard. We walked towards the smell to discover it was Mr. Z's and the smell was their grilling meat for their Phillies. We popped in - the place is very small, but super busy. I had two plain slices of pizza ($3 each), and my partner had two slices of pepperoni pizza ($4 each). We both had a can of Dr Pepper. The pizza was good, the price was great and I wish I found this place much sooner.
Big pie pieces! Perfectly foldable! I ordered a large pizza with mushroom, onion and sausage! The mushroom and sausage on this pizza were freakin' amazing! The staff was quiet but nice!
We are from Philly. So we have had our share of cheesesteaks. We love Pizza. We ordered a large pizza late one night. It was soooooo good and it would be considered an extra large pizza in philly.
Keep up the great food and represent.

Best Philly Cheessteak. As the title is saying: they make the best cheessteaks in Key West.
Good food, but needed better communication skills. Ordered delivery and didnt give a delivery time. I called after 45 mins to see where it was and they said any minute it will arrive. It took 1.5 hours and the delivery person was very rude. All we got was a "we're busy" from that person.
Its all about expectations, if they would have said it was going to take 1.5 hours we would have just ordered somewhere else. Moral of the story dont forget to ask delivery time.
Great!. They offer soups, sandwiches and pizza. The draw for us was the 'philly cheese-steak'. The steak and bread itself was pretty good, but what made this an awesome sandwich was the cheese sauce. You can tell the sauce was homemade, not like the cheese whiz. (I know the die-hards out there there wouldn't classify this as a true cheese-steak, but I would try it before I knocked it.) The cheese sauce is like a mac and cheese sauce-absolutely divine!
Easily the greasiest pizza I've ever had. That said, after sopping up as much grease as possible with a napkin, it was actually really good.
Best Late Night Option. That is about all you can say about Mr. Z's. It is 2:00 am, and you have the munchies. You, and everyone else in Key West, will be in line at Mr.Z's for a slice [okay] or a cheesesteak [probably the better call]. Not the greatest of either, but at 2-3:00, it hits the spot.
The true bastion of Key West drunk comfort food. If there is a lighthouse to lead the drunken masses to the safety of slowing down the poison--this is it. The pepperoni pizza is magic. The right amount of crispy, notes of carbon, and greasy pepperoni. I am not sure you could ever exactly duplicate the magic.
They are open insanely late and there is always a line. It's worth the wait for the drunken slice lifeline.

Food: I'll start by saying I am by no means a Philly cheese steak connoisseur, but Ive had a handful in my time. But their "standard" Philly cheese steak is hands down the best Philly I've ever had. The meat was so flavorful and not dry in the slightest, it was topped with juicy fried mushrooms and onions and real melted American cheese.(bread was great too) it was just so unbelievably good, so much so that I might stop again before leaving the keys. The menu said the $5 fry is "HUGE" they are not kidding, it is WAY more than enough for 2 people
They had beer, canned soda, and fountain drinks
Service: The whole crew was great, from taking our order, to the cooks to the servers everyone was overly friendly and courteous. The crew worked very well together in a very small kitchen, and it seemed that all the workers were happy to be there and had great chemistry with each other which i don't believe you see very often.
I rarely rarely RARELY write reviews, and if so its really only if a place is really good or really bad and this is one of the greats
Philly cheesesteak hands down best in south Florida. It’s the perfect combination or gooey cheese and steak. You have not been out drinking in Key West if you haven’t ended your night after midnight with a Mr. Z’s cheesesteak and some awesome pizza. The pizza is nice and thin with just the perfect amount of chew to the dough to sop up all that alcohol before bed 😜. 100% hit them up at the end of the night, you’ll thank me that night and in the morning.
I enjoyed stopping by for a Philly today. The staff was more than friendly, outgoing, and hilarious. The Philly I had needed a little more umph for me personally, but it was hot and delicious. If they have more topping options like green/red peppers, I'll be more inclined to giving those another try. The pizza smelled so good and they were pumping those out. It's clear this is a special place. Can't wait to come back.
The pizza was really good and filling. It also came out quick. It's a small place and filled up while we were eating. Staff seemed nice and one of the customers said their Italian sub was good. Someone also ordered a cheesesteak that looked good. Might have to come back to try the subs.

My husband and I went here yesterday for pizza. I’m not a huge fan of pizza but I heard about Mr. Z. This place did not disappoint and even my pizza connoisseur husband absolutely loved it!!! Can’t wait to try the cheesesteaks next time . And don’t forget they are open very late after you leave Duval !!!
We were looking for something simple and yummy for lunch that the whole family would like. Pizza and Philly subs sounded amazing! The shop is small, there's only counter seating and two tall tables out front. I'm mentioning this because we are a family of 4 with a stroller and the stroller wouldn't fit inside. BUT the weather was nice enough for us to use the two tables outside. Service was awesome! We got to experience the day shift and everyone was just really great! The food was even better! My husband and I shared a sandwich and my son ate two slices of pizza (which he said are better than NY pizza).. The fries- they aren't lying when they say the portion is huge!
Over all, we LOVED it all and plan to go back tonight to bring a pizza back to our room!
Came here because this was one of the only spots Dave reviewed from Barstool. This pizza was really good though, just super thin and not worth the price I paid for it. It’s definitely a great spot to go if you’re halfway to black out and craving a pizza. At that point you really don’t care how much you spend and this place is open really late, so then it’s worth it. The staff was pretty cool, it’s a really small shop so not alot of room in there. Doesn’t matter though because you can one hand a pizza slice while you drink your beverage of choice. 4 for the pizza, 3 for the value, 5 for the vibe. You get a 4. 4 1/2 if I could
The best pizza I had in a long time while on the island, NY style thin crust with great ingredients, I almost ate the whole pie by myself lol. My wife had an Italian sub which she enjoyed.
