I had the "Holy Shrooms" burger & was one of the best burgers I have ever had! Kettle chips too hard but didn't care! Lee our server was great! Little noisy & one stall bathroom is odd! Went bar after & drinks great!
We love SeaJax! Great beer selection, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful staff.. fantastic food.. the burgers are awesome and the fish and chips is the best in dayton.. the staff there treats us like family..

We had heard good things about this place. Articles in the newspaper had rated the food quite High. Reviews on this site though, says Service needed improving.
We decided to go for dinner this evening, and was so very pleasantly surprised. April was our server, very pleasant, prompt, and attentive. Food was hot and as advertised, quite delicious.
I would call this a 'local place' and a very well kept secret. We are already looking forward to going back as the menu was filled with great food.
You will probably not hear much about this place if you’re just passing through town; indeed many of its longstanding residents don’t even know about it. Sea Jax is definitely a hidden and low-key gem.
I have been here a few times in the past. It is a nice local place to get some seafood and a local craft beer. The patio is relaxing even though it borders a liquor drive through. It would be nice if they had a partition that helped to block the cars driving by. I have had several different things in the past with much luck. I am of the thought that if you are in a seafood restaurant you order the seafood and every seafood entree I have ordered has not disappointed. We usually get the band bang shrimp to start the meal. Overall, the service has always been good but can be slow at times when they are super busy. Each time I have been, the owner has always popped around to see how our meal was. He is very personable and always ensures things right before he leaves the table.

Food was great, fun atmosphere, server was super nice.....but don't come here if you're in a hurry to eat, food takes a while to come out.Would be great place to go with friends for beer/drinks.
WOW! Hidden gem here! Wife and I had dinner here last night and man were we surprised by this place. The wait staff (Dan was our guy) seemed to genuinely like working here and the overall atmosphere was that of a fun, laid back, take your time, we're glad you're here vibe. Dan was very helpful with selecting menu items (this was our first time but definitely not our last) and suggesting drinks, informing us of little nuances. The food was beyond delicious. Had the boom boom shrimp appetizer, the grouper Reuben, and the wife had the grilled chicken Caesar wrap. Zero complaints. Can't wait to try other items on the menu! Thanks for a great dinner and atmosphere.
Wow! I can’t say enough good things about this place! First time I’ve been here and was greeted warmly by the staff. They were so quick for food delivery I was so impressed. I ordered a soft pretzel to start, the dipping sauce was wonderful. For my entrée I ordered the creole shrimp. It was so flavorful and everything was hot and fresh! My friends got burgers and they were huge! Definitely did not skimp on the toppings. I will definitely be back! I also ordered fish and chips to go and also was great.
Drinks and food at Sea Jax was amazing - so delicious! I had the coconut shrimp dinner that came with fries and slaw. Everything was perfection. We were a party of 5 and everyone had a great meal! Our server, Debbie, was an absolute delight! She was so much fun! An overall great evening! Highly recommended Sea Jax!
Friendly, fresh, and freaking delicious! Service was exceptional, food came out timely and hot, and the beer was cold. Doesn't get much better! Small and cozy so it can fill up but the bar keeps guests occupied while they wait. The menu is expansive and has something for everyone.
Sea Jax is one of the best hideways in Kettering hands down.
The most difficulty i have is deciding what to order. Soups, sides and sauces are made in house, even the tartar and cocktail.
Clam chowder and calamari are a must. I'm not a fan of the usual rubbery rings and tentacles, their calamari steak strips are hand breaded, tender every time.
Other favs are coconut shrimp, fish n chips, shrimp creole, blackened salmon salad or with coconut rice n veggies. You can't go wrong with any of the tacos with black bean n rice.
Generous drinks, excellent rotating tap choices, informative, fun and attentive bar/waitstaff. Uh-oh I better shush-i'll never get in 🤫
Wonderful food and service! It was busy, but everything was spot on. Very attentive and minimal waiting for anything. Nice menu selection. We sat fairly close to where the entrees were coming out. Made me want a little of everything. Definitely recommend!
Stopped in for the first time we got the cheese logs an no joke...they are huge!!! The clam platter an clam linguine everything was amazing! You got to try the mixed drinks too! We got the chocolate covered strawberrie the beach bum and the blue sea martini. Definitely recommend this place!!!
My family and I love this restaurant! Though the nautical theme implies they are mostly seafood, Sea Jax Tavern boasts plenty of burger/salad/wrap/sandwich options. I personally really like their Fish and Chips and my 18 month old daughter loves their Parmesan Lemon Chicken. My favorite appetizers are Cheese Logs (which are huge!) and Spinach Dip. They also have wines and a wide variety of craft beers available.
Be prepared to spend about $15 - $20 per person for the meals with alcoholic drinks and appetizers increasing the bill even more. It is pricey, but the food is wonderful and we highly suggest going to Sea Jax Tavern for a special night out.
