Applebee's

We live in Beach Park across the border in Lake Co. and since the closure of the Gurnee and Zion locations, this has become our go-to spot. We've always had good service along with fresh tasty plates delivered to us, venue is always kept clean and nowadays there's never any waiting for an open table sadly with the COVID intact. I'm fortunate to have a full time job w/ benefits with the same employer for the last 20 years and I'll continue to support restaurants and businesses affected by this terrible pandemic. God bless!

Posted once already, didn’t see it, so here it is again. Extremely poor customer service, I waited in my car after checking, nobody brought my food out. Went in after about 25 minutes since they were busy. Order was sitting there. This was Friday night, my food was cold, and even though I told them to take the tip off because they didn’t deserve it they kept the tip. The girl I spoke with said that they were busy so they weren’t watching the monitor to see who was here for their pickup - then why offer curbside. Manager was there and since he didn’t remove my tip I will have to call and complain- they are oblivious to good customer service.

My husband and I haven't eaten here in quite some time so we thought we'd check it out. Our previous experiences were not pleasant but we are always willing to give an establishment a second try. We both ordered a Caesar salad with shrimp. When our food arrived, I have to admit I was disappointed. The salad was the size of a salad you'd get from Wendy's and the container wasn't even filled all the way. If it cost $5, I would be fine but it was $12. I purchase salads from many similar restaurants so I know what to expect for the price. Needless to say, we won't be ordering from Applebee's any time soon. This picture is exactly how I received my salad after I took 2 cups of dressing out of it. You can see the bottom of the container and how sparse the contents were. We are used to salads at a competitor which are much larger. Due to the small size, both my husband and I were still hungry after eating our salads.

The chips dripped with oil while the dip was lukewarm at best. The server insisted that's how it comes. They put shrimp on my steak (Thanks but I'm allergic so I definitely did not order it that way) The server all but scolded me saying "for future reference that's how it comes" when, in fact, it does not (she later apologized). My daughter's potatoes were cold... They stated the kitchen and floor were both short staffed and we observed table after table with issues and order mistakes. The food tasted good, unfortunately, the sides were cold by the time my steak came back out and it took three requests to get a couple pepper packets. Needless to say, we will not be back to this location.
