The Stone Barn

The food was beautiful and delicious. Even the pre-meal bread and butter were great. Service was excellent. Very friendly and accommodating staff. My only critique would be about the fried mushrooms. The sauce was very bland and didn’t have much flavor. I found myself wanting some spiciness or zest, but there was none. The duck confit tacos were amazing and so was the butternut squash ravioli.

We were married here 11 years ago today and have come back to Foxfire for dinner 3 times now. Each time the food is delicious and just keeps getting better. They use farm fresh, local, clean ingredients. They are a BYOB with plenty of mixers to your vodka or rum. Tonight we had the Butternut Squash Ravioli which was to die for. I savored every perfectly seasoned bite. My husband had the Pablano Venison loin medium rare and it melt in his mouth. It was fantastic. We still love the rustic ambiance and decor. We look forward to coming back with our daughter and recreating some wedding photos. Cannot recommend this place enough for dinner and weddings.

Delicious is an understatement. I've eaten here 3 or 4 times now, and never once has there been any complaint. It's some of the best food I've ever eaten in my life, and the employees are all very genuine people. My entire family loves to eat here. Would recommend to everyone if you're looking for a great meal.

We were excited to try Foxfire at The Stone Barn, and the setting and atmosphere lived up to our expectations. The service, however, was very bad. I cannot review the food because we had to leave before being served. There were exactly 10 customers in the restaurant last evening including us. Somehow they managed to lose our order ticket and both tables that ordered well after us were served before us and even had the same entrees that we had ordered. We inquired about this and were told it had to do with how my husband asked for the lamb to be cooked. When my husband reminded the server that he had ordered his lamb rare, so he was not sure how another lamb entree could possibly take less time, the server became flustered. Then he offered a 2nd explanation for the problem. The lights had flickered a few times due to a storm and he said that this had caused the ticket machine to malfunction in the kitchen. The server left and came back in a few minutes telling us that our food would be out in 4 minutes. 20 minutes later we decided to call it a night after over an hour of waiting. We know that mistakes happen and would have appreciated it if we had been given the honest reason that we were left waiting while tables that ordered after us had almost finished eating. We are sure that somehow our order was never put in in the first place and they only realized when we called it to their attention. With so few tables in the restaurant the server should have had a better handle on what was happening with each table's order. We also feel that a problem of this nature should have been handled by the Manager. We did not want a comped meal or any thing like that, just a respectful explanation from the person in charge.The patio looks fantastic and we plan to try again when the weather is warm.
