Mandarin Cafe

This is hands down the worst, and i mean the WORST Chinese food I’ve ever eaten, probably the worst food I’ve purchased in my life. Ever. I ordered a sesame chicken lunch special with crab rangoon on the side. Crab rangoon is actually pretty good, it’s the only edible thing they serve. The lunch special comes with soup and an egg roll. Soup tastes absolutely horrible, like salt water with flavorless soggy dumplings. Ok fine, I power through it and try to eat the entree with the sesame chicken, the chicken is mushy and tastes like straight vinegar, literally inedible, I’m gagging trying to eat it. On top of that the service is absolutely terrible, I call them to get a refund or have my food remade. I normally don’t even complain to restaurants but since I paid $10 for this food and couldn’t even eat it I just wanted to get my money’s worth. They initially refuse to do a refund or remake it and we’re incredibly rude about it. They then relent and say they’ll remake the food but only if I bring the original food back with me, which I’ve never been asked to before. All in all the food here is so bad that you can’t even eat it and they’re incredibly difficult and rude about giving refunds when they serve slop in a to go box. I sincerely wish I could give ZERO STARS.

I was really shocked to see the low reviews on this place and it compelled me to write something. I shamelessly order from this place almost every week and every time it’s perfect. I love that I can call and they see my same order and can just place it. I love that I can get the rice noodles with vegetable lo mein, I love that I can customize anything I want, and it’s perfect every time. And this place LOADS the take out order! You definitely get what you pay for. Bonus: delivery is always super fast. I live in a maze and Uber drivers can never find me and have to call but them, never had to call me and they always find my place. Best restaurant!

My experience was so-so idk why everytime I order for delivery the driver quizzes me as if I am not the buyer. I'm very busy and am VERY patient but he gets a bit testy. So here's the jist I ordered from GrubHub spent 18 dollars as a prime member EVERY OTHER DRIVER SAYS "thanks have a nice day!" But this specific driver quizzes me as if I didn't order the food if he just asked my name that would've been just a-okay. But he' doesn't he holds the receipt up sternly staring at the receipt grimacing to the bag of food and back at me when I opened the door grasps the bag firmly and asks name...phone number etc. This guy is embarrassing both himself and me when I'm around people like really you would think I went through all of this trouble just to get a quizzed complementary of the driver! unprofessional! You would think if I ordered it from the restaurant and know the answer to the first few questions he would be like okay here's your food NO AND I know it's my food BUT HAVE TO ANSWER ALL OF THESE EXTRA questions EVERYTIME he comes. I don't want to feel like I'm taking A QUIZ everytime I support your establishment I get that enough I'm in college Danke! Alles Klar? this is why I choose NO-CONTACT and still they WILL STAND show themselves quizzing me SIR drop the food off and leave! PLEASEE 'm very very very patient but c'mon this is just very unprofessional I've been ordering GrubHub for years. I'll go to china wok from now on foods tastier anyways ANYWAYS. it's unfortunate CHINA WOK is just as inexpensive. Sad I mean you just lost a loyal customer I'm a chill person this male has seen me four times and asks the same questions⁉️⁉️ Sad my appearance is exactly the same as it's has been. Some people are simply- unhappy people and their life reflects accordingly in the experiences they have. I came here on a whim, as I often do impulsively, and didn't know this was here. Take out and dine in. Most Chinese eateries featuring table cloths, and a clean environment, will not offer lunch specials on the week end. I arrived around 2:00p Saturday, Labor Day week-end, on a Kroger run. Man Darin anything always catches my eye so I walked in. Cool, not cold. Carpeted floors. Clean floors. Clean restrooms. Inviting. Good server. Went for the Kung Pao lunch special. Server was great at explaining differences between General Tso and Kung Pao. Real plates, good presentation. Timely. Relaxing environment. Tasty, quality unbeatable for 7 bux, healthier than BBQ, think Body Mass Index. Authentic, won ton soup is a good measure, theirs is excellent. Normally I go for hot spicy, but next time I will take the Won Ton, again. Impression here had enough impact that I walked 250 yards back toward Kroger to get my phone out of my car for this review and a few pictures. To me, this place is how all casual low key Chinese eateries should be. Your experience may vary but mine was ideal and i was not very hungry, as my visit was completely impromptu.
